Fitzgerald's Woodlands House Hotel basks in the glow of commendations for its elegant and charming atmosphere, although some guests have pointed out certain areas that feel outdated. The rooms are celebrated for their spaciousness and cleanliness, albeit a handful report a musty scent and dated décor.
While opinions on value are split, with some guests applauding the cost-effective packages and others finding services overpriced, the hotel's cleanliness and expansive amenities, including a petting farm and spa, consistently receive high marks. Service at the hotel is widely regarded as attentive and professional, contributing to a satisfying guest experience.

Detailed Reviews
We just spent a night at Fitzgerald's Woodlands House Hotel in Adare and I simply have to give it a 5 star review because everything was perfect from start to finish.
When I initially made my reservation with Marguerite, I mentioned we were coming to Adare to celebrate my sons 1st Holy Communion, Marguerite noted this in our booking and when we checked in my son received balooms and treats in our bedroom. This lovely touch made him feel so special and it was a wonderful start to our stay.
Marguerite was the 1st person I came into contact with when I contacted the hotel, she gave a real positive 1st impression and that positivity was replicated throughout our whole stay. Thank you Marguerite for going over and beyond for my son.
The bedroom and bathroom was spotless. The beds had crisp clean bed linen and the most luxurious mattress topper, it was the type of comfort you'd expect to find in a 5 star hotel.
We also availed of the pool which was spotless and one of the things that really impressed us was that we could avail of the hotel facilities (pool, leisure centre, spa and kids club) before check in and after check out. For example, although check-in was at 4pm on the Saturday, the kids could go to the kids club at any stage of that same day, even before 4pm. The same for the Spa, pool and leisure centre, as long as they are prebooked.
Nothing was a bother for the staff, they were very friendly and it really looked like they enjoyed working there. So with hand on heart I can honestly say we will definately be returning because the whole experience was perfect from start to finish. Thank you for the wonderful night away and for helping make my sons's Communion Day so special.

Absolutely fantastic experience on having our wedding at the woodlands hotel. On first visit we know this is where we wanted to be. Every aspect of our day was made to feel special, even down to the finer details everything was complete with a personalized touch.
David and all the staff are just so professional and in total sync to put us at easy on the run to the big day in responding to our questions and everything was done at ease.
The room was just perfect on arrival and the whole stay was absolute enjoyments, from the delicious breakfast the next day, we stayed for lunch and walk along the organic gardens and walking trail the next day, to with our 8 year old really enjoyed finding fairy houses along the way.
All our our guests have left us comments on how much they enjoyed the day and how special the woodlands felt.
We can say that everything was done to make sure us and the guests felt safe in the current climate, with sanitizers on available through out.
Overall we had a 5* experience and we both would like to say a huge thanks to all in the Woodlands for making our day so special.

We stayed here for 2 nights in July 2020 as 2 adults and 3 kids (8, 6 & 3). We had a family room whicn was a perfect size, it had a double bed & 3 single beds. The bed clothes wer the most comfortable ever! We had a jacuzzi bath which was a nice surprise. The hotel made contact in advance of our trip in which we confirmed our breakfast time and pool times, pool times fill up fast so definitely book way in advance. The kids club coordinator also made contact and we booked the kids in, there are 3 different time slots with each one being 2 hrs in duration from age 4yrs. Our kids loved the kids club. When we arrived the kids wer given activity packs and little bottles of fairy dust. The grounds of the hotel have a fairy trail, a small petting farm & a beautiful safe walk around the grounds of the hotel where you see more fairy houses. They also have 'Mary's organic garden' and Caoimhin the gardener is so good with the kids, where they can go and plant their own seeds (our kids planted Sunflowers & spring onions) which you get to bring home. Alot of the fruit/veg grown in the garden is used in the hotel. Timmy Macs bar is a nice relaxing place - would recommend the 'Platter'. For Breakfast you have to prebook, you are then allocated a table & your order is taken and its all table service, the breakfast menu was one of the best Ive seen (see pic below). The breakfast itself was amazing on both mornings. We ate in the restaurant one night, they have a great 4 course menu for €29.50 with fantastic choices, the kids menu was €15.50 for 4 courses & definitely the best choice of kids menu we've ever seen in a hotel. The 2nd night we got the food delivered to the room & again it was beautiful. This is a family run hotel and we met all of the family during our stay, its really evident that its family room and the small touches such as coming up to your table to speak with you is really nice, also seeing the Fitzgerald family pictures on the walls, very homily. Our biggest regret is not booking more than 2 nights & when we tried to book the hotel was booked out which is testament to the service and facilities provided. I didnt get to try Revas Spa but the building into it looked amazing. All in all this was the BEST family hotel we have stayed in. We have already booked for Halloween!

We arrived on the day of a storm and a power outage. The lady on reception couldn't have been nicer. She explained the generator hadn't kicked in and unfortunately we couldn't have lunch there. We requested a extra room and she gave is two rooms right next to each other , a very good rate for the additional room. We had lunch in adare and returned to the hotel just in time for our pool slot and our rooms were also ready. Pool was lovely. We ate in the restaurant that night and food was fabulous. The hotel rooms were immaculate as were the public areas in the hotel. The ballroom was just beautiful and you could imagine a wedding there. Breakfast next morning was all table service and again of a very high quality. Table settings were fab with gold cutlery and China cups and saucers. The kids thought they were in a movie. They loved the petting farm. We didn't avail of the kids club this time but we will for sure next time because we are definitely coming back to stay. The hotels covid measures were second to none with both staff and guests wearing the appropriate face coverings in common areas and all tables the required distance apart for social distancing. Also the beds were so comfortable. I can't wait to return.

We are just back from our one family holiday this year of 3 nights in Woodlands.
We got a lovely welcome at reception and were very pleased with our room - bathroom is dated and some chips out of bath, but room was great. Very spacious.
Dinner the first evening was excellent. They even brought the kids food out straight away and it was at a temperature that a 1 & a 6 year old could eat it straight away without waiting for it to cool. Dinner was lovely and the staff were excellent.
Breakfast the next morning was lovely. A great selection on the menu and very quick and efficient service.
Breakfast the second morning began to slip, tea was lukewarm and it just took a little bit longer.
Breakfast the third morning was

Just home after a fabulous 4 night stay at Fitzgeralds. Excellent food, excellent service, lovely room and friendly/helpful staff. Children loved the small farm, the fairy trail and the freedom to run and kick football in the adjoining field. Kids loved the pool. Got a lovely little tour around the organic vegetable garden and gardener kindly showed us the beehives and explained how they are managed (kids delighted to pull a few fresh beets and chomp on some carrots and tomatoes in the garden) There was no difficulty social distancing due to the spacious reception area and restaurant (staff wearing visors, masks at all times and sanitizers/ signage visible throughout hotel) Lovely breakfast and dinner menus- we ate a variety from the menu during our 4 night stay and everything was fabulous. Our room was lovely- plenty of space for us/6yo and toddler. Spotless and perfectly cleaned each morning of our stay.
We loved our first visit to this hotel and look forward to visiting again. Many thanks to all the friendly, professional and welcoming staff throughout the hotel.

Group of us attended a baby shower there. From the moment you walk in you feel looked after. The lady in charge was so attentive. The food itself was so fresh and they checked to see if we needed anymore food or drinks several times. Brilliant Value for money and We had an intimate space so we could chat freely. It's over 2 hours from home but i'll still be back for afternoon tea again, that's how good it was.

From the time myself and my husband arrived at the hotel all the saff were so friendly and nothing was to much. We both felt very safe in the hotel in these very strange times of Covid. The hotel bedroom was spotless and the couch to watch tv and chill was very relaxing. The food in Timmy's Bistro was absolutely delicious and they even asked us if we wanted more, breakfast was super also.
We most definitely will be back again soon.
Thanks for a really relaxing experience

From check in to check out the staff are friendly and professional. Rooms and other areas are spotlessly clean. Rooms are stuffy in warm weather but I asked for a fan and this was provided which was great. The ballroom is used for dining instead of the bistro meaning a spacious and airy room which allows for social distancing. Breakfast is served to your table and the food is good with lots of choice- not just the full Irish but omelettes, Eggs Benedict, porridge etc. There is a lovely foyer and outdoor seating as well as the bar area.
My one reservation is that there were children constantly running wild throughout the hotel. They were even playing hurling in the foyer while couples and older guests sat looking on in disbelief. They ran unsupervised upstairs and along corridors-playing Hide & Seek. A member of the management walked through the foyer but said nothing about the hurling. Now I know that the hotel industry is trying to recoup as much lost revenue as possible and the family market is a lucrative one at this time of the year but I would not consider this acceptable in 'ordinary' times and definitely not during the pandemic. Primary school aged children appeared to breakfast in pyjamas - others in their bare feet. Children ran in and out past tables, others used devices with the volume on. Children were still running around at 11.30pm.
On my return home I received an email re couples' breaks. Based on this stay, I wouldn't be tempted. I was visiting family and so wasn't spending much of the day in the hotel but even so this really detracted from our stay.

Thank you for your lovely review. It's lovely to get feedback from our guests. Thank you for understanding at this time that we are busy with family stays. As much as possible we ask families to be respectful to other guests. Parents/Guardians are responsible for their children at all times while in the hotel and sometimes this is out of our control. We will use your feedback to improve our communication to families. We hope to welcome you back again soon.

would like to thank you for our wonderful stay on Thursday 24 sept 2020, we were welcomed by a lovely receptionist who kindly upgraded us to the beautiful stunning suite on arrival.
We were totally over whelmed by this , we then dropped off our luggage and went for drinks before an absolutely gorgeous dinner served with lovely pleasant staff.
We went for breakfast on Friday morning and again staff couldn’t do enough for us. I booked this as a stop off point on my way to dingle and will certainly arrange a family holiday to this hotel.
Thanks again x

Yes laundry is available but I didn't use it.
Not really, however I suggest you contact the Hotel to be sure.
The Hotel has a great Petting Farm as well.
the hotel sells many beers on draft and in bottles - was there one in particular you were interested in?
Hi there, a cab to Shannon airport I reckon would cost around €30. The best way to get to the airport would be to travel on the motorway and the journey would be less and it would take around 30 minutes!!
