Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited the Dunraven Arms Hotel on the 22/07/2022. Our stay was for 2 nights b&b, 1 evening meal & a picnic for two. The food was excellent, fab breakfasts and the picnic had enough food & drinks for 4 people and a great selection. We had booked the picnic for Saturday but unfortunately I had an upset stomach so we asked the hotel could we take it home with us on the Sunday. They checked with the kitchen & said it would be no problem. When we got home my nephew & his girlfriend were minding our dog so we all enjoyed the picnic and even had food left over. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff. Everyone was very friendly & helpful. The bedroom was lovely & very comfortable. The only let down was the pool area which was not 4 star standard , but I'm delighted to say that I've been informed by Mr. Hugh Murphy, the proprietor, that they are improving their standards in the pool area. I was very impressed that he took note of my comments and followed up on them...The hotel is in an excellent location with beautiful shops, thatched cottages, great park, restaurants & pubs. I would highly recommend this hotel and know that you will be well looked after by the exceptional friendly staff. We will definitely be back for another visit. Thank you to Hugh Murphy and his great team. Cheers & well done from Gerry & Aoife.

Adare is so beautiful it looks like a Hollywood site. The Dunraven is a great location and the best option unless you want to spend a $1,000 plus a night at Adare Manor. Pub on facility provides a nice option if you want to stay on site or for a night cap. Parking on site makes life easier on your visit

Noisy, uncomfortable beds, no artwork on the walls in the bedrooms. The only rooms that are worthwhile are those that are at the far end of the hotel where did you don’t hear people traipsing and noisy in the hallway and upstairs so you don’t hear them clopping around. On the plus side I would say that the staff is very gracious and attentive. The restaurant is OK but not great. If you have an option to stay anywhere else I would go for it

Response from Hugh Murphy, Owner at Dunraven Arms Hotel
Responded 1 week ago
We are always happy to receive feedback as we feel that it helps us to improve not only the features in the hotel but also the quality of service that we provide. As a long standing family run business we take great pride in the hotel. We have a wonderful team who work hard to ensure we provide an efficient and friendly service. We have also invested heavily recently to refurbish all the bedrooms in the hotel. These refurbishments include high grade wooden floors, new beds, new mattresses, new televisions and new furniture. We are very happy with the work that has been done and the quality of our bedrooms. We are delighted that the majority of feedback regarding our newly refurbished bedrooms has been extremely positive.

Dunraven Arms is a habitual stop en route to Kerry over the years. As always excellent food and brilliant service. Highly recommend. Parking is convenient in hotel car park. Adare is always nice for a stroll on a nice day. Nearby park is ideal for a family.

My friend and I have been touring Ireland for the last two weeks and I have to call special attention to The Dunraven Arms Hotel. The property is in Adare, Co. Limerick, Ireland. We arrived at Dunraven after having a not-so-great night of sleep in Galway the night before. It was quite loud that night with revelers and glass bottle trash pick-ups at all sorts of odd hours. Dunraven Arms greeted us with blessed tranquility and quiet. Our rooms weren't quite ready, so after a lovely lunch on their patio, we each booked mini-facials and massages. The care given to us by their resident Beaty and Body Therapist, Fiona Coyle, was fantastic. We each left our sessions feeling relaxed and refreshed. After our treatments, the staff gave us a pleasant surprise by upgrading each of us to Junior Suites. They were gorgeous! My bed was so cozy and comfortable! We based out of Adare for the next day's trip to The Cliffs of Moher, which are spectacular. When we returned after a day of adventure, it was time for a glass of wine or two at Dunraven's bar. Great service from all the staff, but especially Joanne and Yvonne who were both still in their first week of training. I highly recommend this little jewel of a hotel if you are ever traveling in Ireland.

We stayed 4 nights while our son and daughter-in-law also had their Wedding Reception there. The staff in all areas is exceptionally, with outstanding food and drinks. We had 2 different rooms as we stayed and then returned, and also saw many other rooms, and all were comfortable, clean, and simply beautiful. Really, the staff makes this place exceptional.

Always a great stay at the Dunraven. Large junior suite with a twin single connecting. Perfect for families. Bathrooms a good size. Shower power could be stronger. Ideally would be nice to have amenities like kettle/fridge. Food overall excellent if a touch pricey; breakfast good selection. Staff very pleasant if a tad stretched given high season.

Stayed in the Dunraven hotel on our way to west cork. The hotel is an absolute treat. Staff are excellent , attentive and welcoming. The food in the restaurant was perfect both dinner and breakfast had excellent choices and we appreciated the dining experience. Tables are well separated again staff were attentive which isn't always the case. The room was clean and very comfortable and quiet, no external noises which we very much appreciated. The grounds are lovely for a stroll.
