Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As driving into town we saw the cottages. We walked back and got a closer look which housed food, shopping etc. I thought the entire town had these cottages but they were the only ones I saw and A couple were destroyed by fire which is a shame.

One of Adare’s claim to fame is its Thatched Cottages. The original cottages were built in the 1820s by Lord Dunraven. Two of them were destroyed by fire in June 2015 and are in the process of being restored. The cottages look about the same as when we visited years ago. The flowers add to their beauty.

Adare is such a pretty wee town. The thatched cottages in the Main Street are so beautiful and so well preserved. they look just gorgeous and are used for cafes and gift shops. The rest of the town is just as lovely. As we were leaving at about 1pm on a sunny Saturday, the queue of cars to get into town stretched several kilometres.

Adare, located along the Maigue River in the County of Limerick is one of Ireland`s prettiest villages. Beautiful unique thatched cottages line its wide main street such as The Blue Door, Restaurant 1826, Adara Cottage Shop located right across from the Trinitarian Monastery. The walls were built with stones found locally then covered with a mud plaster before being white washed, thatchers use domestic cane to create the beautiful roof lines. Worth a visit.

Adare is such a lovely village, lined with cottages with their thatched roofs, all unique as the owner built it. A lovely well-maintained park in the village has a large gazebo, built with a thatched roof as well - a definite photo for my 2019 calendar! The main street has lots of shops and places to eat. Recommend? Yes, it's worth a stop for a walkabout.

We came across these well maintained and decorated cottages / businesses while traveling through. Stopped to take a closer look and were impressed with the quality of their condition. The properties and interiors are also well cared for as businesses. Well Done!

We have stayed at the Irish Cottages for 6 years. They are the best besides Joan takes great care of you. We stay in the milk barn and have also rented the thatched when many visitors come. It is set on a working farm that has wonderful walking. For cottages they are updated and comfortable to live, cook and just enjoy the countryside!

Quaint little gift shops and restaurants inside these cottages. The thatched roofs are unique and distinct. One of the cottages suffered a devastating fire and is closed. Hopefully to be repaired soon. Worth a visit to see and enjoy the bakery, deli, restaurant and gift shops along the way.

Well worth a visit to just stroll around the main street and see the beautiful pastel coloured thatched cottages and old city hall. The church, gardens, and even the old pubs, are worth a picture while you stretch your legs.

Have visited here in the past and was sorry to see that two of the thatched roof cottages have burned down since our last visit. We love strolling down the street to take pictures of these beautiful quaint cottages and admire the gorgeous roses and various flowers all abloom in front of the cottages. Certainly always worth a visit!
