Would highly recommend Cryans Hotel ... from every aspect .. friendly helpful flexible and 100% professional staff, rooms were A1 and the food is top drawer and of course overall Value for money ... I would definitely be booking it again on the next trip to Carrick On Shannon a lovely town. Liked the fact and this is just one example that breakfast was served up to you rather self service which usually means standing in line with a tray waiting to get toast or whatever.

Great hotel in a great location. Rooms very clean. Key cards had to be reset for many of our rooms daily even though cards were not kept close to bank cards. The most disappointing thing was the lack of vegetarian options both in the bistro & restaurant, which is very strange to come across in 2023! In the bistro, there were no vegetarian sandwiches available & only option was a "vegetable plate " from the carvery. We were told that they "sometimes" have a mock meat (chicken) curry available there. In the restaurant, the only options were a starter of breaded brie & a side of chips. A very poor selection.

Just had a one night stay in Cryan's Hotel last Saturday, there was 18 of us in the group. From the first mail to enquire about availability, Geraldine was extremely helpful and flexible with our dates and numbers. We had to push back a month due to covid concerns, and final numbers were not confirmed until the week of the booking. But at all times we were kept in the loop of the situation. The hotel is ideally situated just over the bridge, you are a few minutes stroll from the heart of Carrick and all its bars and pubs. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, all the lads were very impressed with the hotel. Breakfast the next morning was lovely and all the staff we met were very friendly and welcoming. Would certainly recommend and hopefully wil be back myself soon!

From the moment we landed the problems started. There was no on site parking available which was advertised, the member of staff at reception was no way welcoming. The room was ok for the money, but when we went to use the shower, we would have been aswell off standing outside in the rain. The beds were very uncomfortable and the kettle was rancid.

When we went down for dinner the same member of staff that checked us in for dinner questioned us whether we were residents or not. We were seated and thankfully our (young) waitress was very very helpful. She made sure we had everything we wanted and apologized for the wait. The dinner was surprisingly nice but seemed to mirror the menu of the landmark.

Breakfast the next day was a disaster, the staff seemed to be overwhelmed by the phew tables that were seated. The younger waitresses were doing all the work, while the older members of staff seemed to just dictate and tell them what to do, they also just greeted the guests and loved to be the heros bringing out the breakfasts. The menu was very limited aswell. One moment summed it up when an older waitress dropped a slice of toast, and told the younger waitress to picked it up and just laughed. The same young member of staff was serving us and was working the night before, identifying the problem of understaffing. We had to wait 45 minutes for our breakfast which was actually nice.

The management and older members of staff at Cryans are 'Know it all's' and think that the younger waitresses have to do everything even tho they are paid a wage aswell they do not feel that have to work or do the same work, just be the heros greeting, serving and dictating. If the older waitresses helped out and let the younger waitresses actually progress and delegated fairly then Cryans may have some hope for the future. It seems they think they can survive off the constant turnover of stags and hens.

We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I travelled with a group of (Dublin based) former teammates who had played football together in the late 70s and 80s, We are all now in our 60s and 70s, and, for the past 5 years or so. have met up for an annual reunion.
Cryan's is a magnificent spot for this type of event. The hotel was excellent value for money, but of far greater significance from my perspective, the quality of the experience was exemplary in every respect. It's a family run establishment, and it met and exceeded every possible service expectation that we could have had. Staff were extremely (and noticeably) customer focused, and I think they represent a real strength of the business.
We usually prefer to go to a different venue each year, but we all agreed on the train going back to Dublin, that it would be very. very difficult to look past Carrick on Shannon, and Cryan's in particular, next time round. I personally cannot recommend the venue highly enough.

This review is in regards to the restaurant at Cryans. Had an extremely disappointing experience at Cryans last Saturday (2nd July). We had a group booking made well in advance for 13 people. We arrived for our booking at 7pm but they were not ready for us. We were ushered out to the reception to wait where we waited for 30 mins. When making the booking we had advised of a few fairly standard dietary requirements in our group (vegan and vegetarian). While waiting to be seated a member of staff approached me in regards to the vegan and vegetarian requirements and in front of the group states 'what do those people eat' and 'we don't really cater for that'. These comments made by the member of staff at Cryans were extremely inappropriate and those with the dietary requirements felt extremely awkward and embarrassed. The vegan member of our group was not accommodated for (dispite the ample notice given) she was offered the vegetarian option. When we were eventually seated we weren't seated in the main restaurant part, we were put sitting in what appeared to be the cafe part of Cryans that was clearly closed but a make shift set up was thrown together for our group. Seats were not provided for everyone so we ourselves had to rearrange the tables to add the additional seats. Very disappointing experience and unprofessional experience.

Myself, husband and our 3 kids (Ages 8 and 3 year old twins) stayed here for the weekend in a spacious family room. Room very clean and comfortable. Our room had 2 windows and we were facing the main road overlooking the river. The noise outside our room was a real turn off. Loud music and shouting until 1.30am on both nights. This was beyond the hotels control I'm sure. We were unable to close our windows due to the heat. The breakfast on both mornings was lovely and the lady who served us was very helpful with our children and very obliging to our requests. Beautiful hotel and staff. Value for money was great. €120 cheaper than Landmark hotel directly across the road.

Went for an evening meal and it was faultless. We had a main course each and shared a gorgeous sticky toffee pudding. All the food was fabulous and we were served by the lovely Mary B who was very attentive despite being very busy. We will definitely be returning

Christmas night stay over on 28th December 2021.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Bar and restaurant amazing food 10/10. Broken wooden blind here needs to be replaced.
Bedroom surfaces not dusted.
Duvets on bed very low tog (like summer duvets) and not winter duvets 15.0 tog.
I was cold so took duvet off single bed and put on double bed.
Be great idea for extra blanket to be in room.
Overall, this is a great hotel cost wise and can't fault staff or food.
