We recently visited having travelled from Canada. Love the town and the night life. Great day trips to interesting places too. Oral and Aileen, our hosts at Cloisters were awesome!! So helpful by suggesting places to visit for sightseeing, eating and live music. The B&B was super clean and fresh. The food was excellent with a good selection for anyone wishing to start their morning off on the right foot. Highly recommend a stay here. We’ll be back to continue our exploration of the area.
We just spent the weekend in Kinsale - I wish I could give the ladies who run the Cloisters 10 stars. Very clean, extremely well run B&B - they took us in and treated us like family. Just a wonderful experience. Bonus was that it was centrally located to everything in town.
I can’t say enough good things about my stay. Gracious hosts who helped with travel advice, comfortable and very clean room, great breakfast. An excellent choice in Kinsale. The location is great - easy walking distance to the center of town.
If you are interested in a romantic small B&B with wonderful, welcoming, friendly hosts, this is the place! Lovely rooms, great breakfast, excellent location near all landmarks. Great experience in a really cute town. Go to Spike Island, Cork Harbour for an informative tour!
Orla and Aileen were great host the accommodation and Breakfast were incredible. A real Irish experience with famous Irish hospitality. A short walk to all of the Pubs, Restaurants and amazing site seeing. Can't wait to go back
The Cloisters was very nice. The owners were exceptionally nice and very accommodating. The room was lovely; the food was excellent; the location was perfect. The price was lower than others I stayed in Ireland and the quality much better.
You can't beat the location. We parked our car in the small lot around the corner from the door and left it there our entire stay. Such a walkable locale made for a stress free visit, it was nice to take a break from driving. Ours was a smaller room which was perfect for us. It was immaculate and had everything we needed. Breakfast each morning was relaxing and tasty. Our hosts were helpful in giving us recommendations! Thanks to Aileen & Orla!
We spent two nights at The Cloisters and from the time we arrived until we departed we were treated like good frieds. Aileen and Orla are five star hosts and top notch cooks. We choose from their breakfast menu each morning which was plenty but they supplemented it with fresh fruit, yogurt, breads, cereal and fresh squeezed orange juice. My coffee cup never struck empty! One of them was always right there to fill it up. In addition, if we needed a suggestion of directions, they were available to help. They even made several calls on my behalf to check on a ring I thought I'd lost at our previous accommodation. The room was well appointed, and equally important, spotless.
First the warning about getting here. Kinsale streets are narrow and winding even for Ireland, but they don't seem to slow drivers much. The front door of Cloisters effectively opens onto Friars Street. Seriously. When you open the door, poke your head out and look before stepping out. Oddly, people still manage to park on the street that I swear is less than two cars wide! The place is quiet and attractive. I'm sure that backing onto the Garda station helps keep noise levels down. Given the name and the location across the street from St. John the Baptist Church, I had to ask and, no the B&B isn't a former cloisters. Our hosts were very pleasant and accommodating; assuring that we knew all the places to eat, before we even got to our rooms. Our room was unique. It had a fairly common Queen/Twin, but the twin was partly in an alcove where my wife had trouble hearing me speak. We figured she would then have a night free of my snoring. No such luck. Even the guests next door heard me (Sigh). The bathroom was down a couple of stairs, with it's own foyer. We both loved this place, and our hosts, who also served a great sit-down breakfast.…
The Cloisters B&B was charming. The entry was warm and inviting and our very pretty room was bright, cheerful and comfortable. Orla and Aileen were gracious and helpful hosts, making excellent suggestions for places to eat and things to do. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast in the morning. The only thing that would have made this better is if we could have stayed longer. Jan and Kelly
