We booked and stayed in the Deluxe double waterfall facing room for two nights, Room was spacious and the refurb was very well done, nice cosy feel to it, the bed was huge and really comfortable and the room/hotel was clean, decent size tv that you can manoeuvre to your liking hung on the wall facing the foot of the bed, standard tea/coffee facilities but with a decent size cup(mug) always a plus especially if you’re a tea drinker like myself 😂 we also loved the fact you could get a shower and a bath in the bathroom which was really lovely decorated and all Paul Costello toiletries too, the hotel staff are really lovely and pleasant to deal with from the reception on arrival/ general queries to the staff in the spa, we both got the rejuvenation package €120 p/p and that included facial/massage back neck and shoulders/ dry flotation device for 80 minutes and then into the relaxation room for a complementary healthy/flavoured tea and granola and yogurt very nice touch! Girls are amazing and really look after you! And can’t forget the restaurant /bar staff who were extremely helpfully when I need to change a reservation booking as well as really friendly and chatty, Now the views and scenery, all I can say is Wow it literally looks like something you would see painted or on postcard, we loved the fact you can walk out the front and have little bridge walkways up around the waterfall (man made) and then out the back of the hotel to a lovely area to sit down and take in the fresh air and views or if you like walking and is quite fit, the walk down to the lake which is amazing to sit and listen to the birds and the water especially first thing in the morning we done this around 7am and just very peaceful, especially if you work in a very fast paced busy noise job! This is the grounding/reset everyone should enjoy experience, The Restaurant/Bar was very spacious and well decorated with some excellent views from the window seats, good music for background noise, the breakfast is a buffet style with plenty of selections to choose from hot/cold options, the hot Irish breakfast was very tasty, we had lunch and dinner once and food was also nice! I would highly recommend this hotel to family/fiends or anyone staying down in Kinsale, we look forward to our next stay.

The Hotel and Spa are located just outside Kinsale. The Staff are very helpful and welcoming and even offered us an upgraded room with a fabulous view overlooking the property for a small fee. The room was fabulous and very clean with a large bathroom and excellent shower. The room itself offers floor to ceiling windows with a breathtaking view. The bed was very comfortable and offered hypo-allergenic bedding and pillows. The breakfast each morning was delicious with a wide variety of things including hot and cold choices. we also ate supper in the restaurant and it was great. This is not a 4.3 star score which is what it says on the web site but rather a 4.9 star Do not hesitate whatsoever to book this when visiting Kinsale.

We ended three weeks of our Ireland holiday at the lovely Kinsale Hotel & Spa. We travelled from the Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland to Dublin, Belfast, across to the Cliffs of Moher, the Dingle peninsula, to Kilkenny to finally conclude our holiday in the beautiful sailing town of Kinsale. We experienced quaint B&B’s and several hotels, but none were as comprehensive as the Kinsale Hotel & Spa. The rooms were large and very comfortable, the included continental breakfast was delicious, the gym was great to use after nearly a month of holiday indulgence, the bar with large televisions was inviting to relax and watch Irish football, the barman a gem and the front desk reception courteous and helpful in arranging transportation from the hotel to the Kinsale town center. Although we had hired a car, it was nice to have the transportation to town and the luxury of drinking a pint in the lively pubs and get a taxi at the stand in the town center for just €15. We did not use the pool, hot tub or spa, however, they were clean and well attended to by the hotel staff. The last day of our holiday (day 22) we opted to spend the entire day relaxing in the hotel with a glorious walk through the ruins along the forest paths behind the hotel near the water’s edge. Our drive to turn in our rental car and fly to London was just 24km (15 miles) to the “very” easy Cork airport. We enjoyed all of our B&B stays throughout Ireland, however, as far as hotels, we definitely preferred the Kinsale Hotel & Spa above all others. Our next trip to Ireland, we may only visit Kinsale and return to this lovely hotel!

We arrived early in the morning, and the team led by John were very accommodating in prioritising house keeping of our rooms and making sure we were comfortable and fed.
Lots of thoughtful gestures which are what make the difference in a stay! Thank you John and team!

We got married in Kinsale Hotel and Spa on the 17th August, outdoors on the terrace with the beautiful oysterhaven backdrop and the day could not have gone any better. Both Paul, John and their teams played a blinder! From the moment we arrived, it was all about keeping us stress-free while keeping the wheels turning, we did a first look in Charlesfort, John closed off all the double doors on our floor so they could sneak me out the side exit without my guests seeing me and when we realized we forgot to bring the flowers, Paul was on it, retrieved them and got them out to me in the car without guests spotting me! Dinner service was immaculate and ran so smoothly that you hardly even knew it was happening, All the staff including bar and kitchen absolutely brought their A-game. We stayed another 2 nights after the wedding and the level of professionalism never dipped. It’s an amazing hotel with amazing views but most importantly, with amazing staff. A special shout out to Mary also who kept us hydrated throughout the meal! :-)

Great price for a one night stay. Rooms small but bedding very comfortable and ideal temperature also. Staff are very friendly but service is slow. We had a three course dinner for two in the restaurant included with our booking. As we had our three year old with us, we asked to move to the less formal bar area and avail of the bar menu, so as not to disturb other guests who were mostly couples and no children. Our booking was for 7.15pm but we arrived at 7pm and it was quite. We placed our order for 2 starters and 2 mains. The starters came out about 7.30. At 8.30 we were still waiting for our mains of chicken curry, and a burger. Others were seated after us and served before us. At 8.15 we approached the bar staff and was told the food would be ready in 5 minutes. At 8.30 we approached the bar staff again and told them we were leaving as our 3 year old was exhausted and starving. The food came to our room at 8.45pm with two complimentary pints of cider. The burger was cold and inedible. The curry was nice. But it was way too late to eat. We went to the vending machine instead. Breakfast was OK, no complaints. When we checked out we were not charged for an additional two pints were had, so were given 4 complimentary pints in total. But given we didn't have an evening meal and had no opportunity to avail of the third course, we were very disappointed. I doubt we will return again.

Hello EmmaDamien, thank you for taking the time to write us a review. I am glad you enjoyed the hotel and I am disappointed to hear that the restaurant experience did not meet your expectations. I have forwarded your feedback to our restaurant manager but I can vouch for this myself that this is not a standard but an exception. Our staff is very committed to provide a professional and personal service to each guest. We hope that you can give us another chance to redeem ourselves and we can welcome you in the future Kind regards Peter

You arrive to a cobbled entrance which is very fancy with it's 4 star AA plaque. Unfortunately that is all that is fancy about this hotel. Car park is dirty as is the surrroundings. The minute you walk into the hotel you can instantly feel that it is very warm, now this could be because of all the glass in the reception area. We booked 3 nights B&B and were assigned our room. 1st room was interconnecting family room so we asked to move. This was not a problem we moved 2 doors down. We didn't sleep a wink in this room (207) it was stiflingly hot. We woke up with severe headaches and dripping in sweat. We had windows open as they have no A/C as we would know it, they have a cooling system that doesn't always get to the top end of the hote as the receptionist said. Asked to me moved again and got room right at end corridor this was an improvement. We didn't eat dinner as the hotel was pretty empty and so no atmosphere. Breakfast was usual offering hot cold and pastries. 2 mornings was self service (busy) 1 was table service (not busy)
Booked Spa and this too underwhelmed is. The changing room is open space with a shower in the corner so everyone would see u getting in and out. There were no locks on the cabinets as we were told they kept being lost and valuables could be left with Spa Reception, this shouldn't be their responsibility. The treatments were lovely.
Would I stay here again NO. We shouldn't have had to pay for 1st night due to the overwhelming heat in the room, but my request fell on deaf ears.
Rooms recently renovated, no working fridge had to request one, no safety deposit boxes. They did have hair dryer. Bathrooms were sadly not up graded at same time as rooms. There is bath and shower. The shower is on a height so you have to step into and out of it. The shower door didn't close fully either. Tired hotel that is in desperate need of some love and attention

We stayed in the Kinsale Hotel and Spa for my sister’s hen party last year. The bridal party stayed in the lodge the night before the hen party and the hotel staff kindly moved all our belongings to our hotel room the following day. The staff were so accommodating to all our requests, organising platters of food for our off site activity, arranging for a function room for us for some pre-dinner activities and customising the set dinner menu for the bride’s dietary preferences.
Nothing was too much hassle for them and it made the entire event stress free. We couldn’t fault the service, food or accommodation-everything was fabulous and everyone really enjoyed their stay.

We had been really looking forward to staying in the hotel as we had booked one of the 2 suites described as "show shoppers" on the hotel website. Firstly, I'll start with the positive points - the views were incredible, the location was good and there was plenty of free parking. On to the room, what a let down. It was really spacious and had a huge balcony with amazing views. However, the room itself is in real need of a renovation. The furniture is chipped, scratched/ stained and the room is so dark with barely any lighting (2 bedside lamps and 1 stand lamp for the whole suite!). There was no mini bar or mini fridge and no glasses/drinkware. The tv was very limited and kept freezing. We also had an issue with the no electricity in the room one morning as we were getting ready (it appeared to cut out after us plugging in an iron supplied by the hotel). We called reception a few times and nobody answered so we had to call the hotel externally for help. Onto breakfast which was chaotic most days. There appear to be young families living at the hotel and one on morning we had 3 young children (2 in school uniform at 10am) running around, up and down to food and crawling on floor while their mother looked on. We also had a member of staff feeding his own son whilst we were stood waiting to be seated by him. There were also YouTube cartoons being played on the TV for the child (despite us being told that evening that guests couldn't choose which channels are shown). On 2 mornings out of 3 we ordered poached eggs that never arrived despite reminders. We spoke to the hotel manger this morning who noted our concerns. We must mention Dino who was hard working, professional and attentive despite the unprofessional around him. We have one night left and won't be disappointed to leave tomorrow.

Dear C S, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. As a family-oriented hotel, we deeply value the well-being of both our guests and our employees. On the day you mentioned, some of our team members, who are also parents, were attending to their children's first day of school—a significant moment for any family. I apologize if this affected your experience, and please know we are always striving to ensure a professional and comfortable environment for all guests. We truly regret that certain aspects of your stay fell short of expectations, particularly in the room and breakfast experience. Please rest assured that we are in the midst of refurbishing our remaining rooms, and we hope that on your next visit, you'll have the opportunity to experience one of our newly renovated suites, which we're confident will exceed your expectations. We are glad to hear that Dino stood out during your stay, and we’ll make sure to pass along your kind words. We hope that next time, you’ll experience a stay that fully lives up to your expectations in one of our newly refurbished rooms. Kind Regards, Andrei Atudorei Deputy General Manager

Fab location with a lovely view . However that was it , someone had been smoking in the room and despite an attempt to clean it smelled for the whole night !!! The food that we got with the package was over cooked , am not fussy with food but we could not eat it . Did not want to complain or make a fuss as the staff looked really under pressure and we were not very hungry . The therapies in the spa was very poor in her communication and it was an uncomfortable experience . We were not going to say anything but on check out we were asked how everything was . We hesitated but felt we had to say it about the food , the manager who spoke to us was abrupt and rude very dismissive of our experience. Not worth over 500 euro for one night . Won’t be returning !!!!!!!
