Overlooking the scenic river, Rivermount House completed a total upgrade and refurbishment recently. It offers five-star bed and breakfast quality at affordable rates. We feature classic mahogany furniture, heavily embossed wall coverings and exquisite soft furnishings, which have all resulted in creating an ambiance of luxury comfort and style. With a classy polished marble foyer, this accommodation feels more like a boutique hotel but with the personal attention and traditional warmth of a B&B.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed here last night. Everything was perfect. From staff to room to location. Breakfast was really nice and there was a good choice besides full Irish..not walking distance from kinsale but only a short drive..view from house is super. Only a short drive from old head kinsale and garretstown beach.id highly recommend this b and b..loads of hand sanitizers in different locations around the house and one in bedroom.

Lovely house with great views. We felt very well looked after. It was a lot more personal and attentive than a big hotel. Room was small but very modern looking. Breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked each morning. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. As we wanted to have drinks with dinner, they drove us into Kinsale town both nights we were there, free of charge. It was much cheaper than any other properties in the area, but still seemed to be of a very high standard. We felt we got great value for money.

This was a fantastic stay. It is a little far out from Kinsale itself so you do need a car to get in and then there’s no where to park in Kinsale but that’s not this b&b’s fault, I only mention it as we weren’t prepared for that and ended up spending a small fortune on taxis. The b&b itself was fabulous! Very clean, huge breakfast, friendly hosts and immaculate rooms and gardens. We were a large family of 6 with 3 teenagers and a toddler and we were very well catered for. I would highly recommend this for families of all ages. Well done Rivermount.

This B&B was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated with generous sized bed and bathrooms and comfortable beds. The view is of lovely rolling farmlands. The breakfast was so delicious with lots of choices. It’s a quick $25 cab ride to get into central Kinsale. I loved that it was nice and quiet there. We sat outside in the front in the evening with wine and cheese we purchased in town. Another night was chilly, so we had our evening wine and cheese in the front room—also with the same beautiful view. The owner and staff could not have been nicer. We felt like family. We found ourselves with two nights’ accommodations canceled by the hotel in Kilarney with less than 48 hours’ notice, and Rivermount graciously accommodated us for another night. We also used this as a base to do a coastal tour to the head of Kinsale, the Wild Atlantic Way, parts of the Ring of Kerry, Bantry and the Kilarney National Park. I would definitely return here and highly recommend it.

No tea on arrival, room spotlessly clean, bed comfortable and room adequately furnished. The let down was the breakfast whilst the ingredients were good quality the cooked food must have been pre cooked and sitting under a heat lamp the fried egg was totally hard , toast cold pudding rock hard, this was filling station standard, not what I expected in an establishment of this standard. Staff rushed you along bringing the hot food before my wife had finished her cereal. On checkout nobody enquired if everything was alright/ did you enjoy your stay?

We stayed here as we were attending a wedding locally.
Hosts were lovely and very accommodating . My daughter loved meeting lola the very friendly dog and feeding the donkeys some apples.
Breakfast lovely and fresh very tasty.
Rooms comfortable and clean, we stayed in a front facing room with amazing view of the river.
Could not fault at all, amazing find and great value for money if we were to return to the area would definetly stay here again.

Highly recommend! Owner Claire was caring & kind to us. After 6 arrived in Ireland, 1 had to return home due to a tragedy, then an Inn canceled our 2 day reservation. Claire was able to provide us a 2nd night and then made sure we were able to secure another night elsewhere. Josie greeted us warmly with infectious smile when we arrived & during stay provided us with great information & recommendations. Home was lovely. Bedrooms were spacious & comfortable. Few rooms downstairs available where you could sit and relax outside of the bedroom. Gorgeous views! We bought wine & cheese in town, sat outside relaxing, enjoying view. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. If you are not driving, taxi into town very reasonable. Clair, Josie, Kate and all from Rivermount, thank you for the warm welcome, kindness and attention, making us feel like we were home.

This is the BEST bed and breakfast I have stayed at in years. Not only were the views spectacular, but the home was gorgeous as well. The owner was very friendly and hospitable. We were a group of 6, including 3 kids, and everyone thought the breakfast was terrific--try the pancakes with Nutella! My only wish was that we had more time to stay.

Awesome staff, Claire and Walter, the owners are so welcoming. The room is comfortable and the morning breakfast is exceptional. I would highly recommend this place to stay when in Ireland. The house is located just a few minutes from town and very peaceful,

When we were there last October they did not take credit cards. But they have good website so I would recommend you send your inquiry directly to them. By the way, it’s a lovely spot, beautifully appointed, excellent breakfast, welcoming host....feels like a small boutique hotel. We enjoyed our stay.
Rivermount House is located just under 3 miles from town, there is a pub that serves great food at the Old Head but that is also 3 miles away. There is a very good taxi service in the area for those who prefer not to drive..
