We stayed for two nights on a recent Rick Steves tour. The place was quirky and had some pleasant features but overall a bit dreary. The Room: -The room was very large and appeared clean with a decent bed. The furnishings were dark and worn and the linens and towels scratchy and cheap feeling. The bathroom had one of those...

We stayed at the Friars lodge the first weekend in June. I was so impressed that we booked for the same weekend next year. 2015. Firstly we were upgraded to a larger room which was just lovely. The bathroom was large and immaculately clean. There was lovely tea and coffee which was perfect after shopping all day. The breakfast was...

We were pretty disappointed by this place for a number of reasons, not the least of which was a desk clerk that insulted us. Rooms are spartan and on the seedy side, with outdated baths (remember the square dryers with a hose?) and poor electrical capacity (we blew a fuse by using a fan and space heater since running clothes...

Easy to walk to good dining and pubs. The staff was excellent, the room was comfortable, and the parking was plentiful! We'd stay again, without a doubt! The Wi-Fi was so-so but otherwise the room was clean, comfortable, and had a spacious bathroom plus plenty of bed space. We had the family room with a double and two twin beds,...

The girl was so helpful that she even called a mechanic friend for me. All the staff I encountered were very friendly and kept asking "if i managed...

We paid $90E for May 22. Quiet street. Nice. Large room. Free Wireless. The "pudding" that is served for breakfast is not for most people............. A bit hard to find with car and UP the hill from the town.

I've just come back from my annual visit to the Friars Lodge in the beautiful town of Kinsale. I'm pleased to report that the Friars Lodge is as it always was: terrific! All the rooms are large with comfy beds and good en-suite bathrooms or shower rooms. Hair dryer, iron with ironing board, choice of pillow and tea / coffee...

We were fortunate to stay at the Friar's Lodge in Kinsale for three nights. We were traveling with our 13 year old grandson and booked a Family Room which had a queen and a single bed. The room was tastefully decorated, very large with a sitting area containing three comfy wing chairs. The location made walking to the village center...
