Good staff; great location; very small rooms (smaller than the average Ireland/Scotland hotel room); unacceptably small bathroom; NO LIFT... and very narrow/difficult rise over run stairs you must carry all luggage; street noise is an issue as no AC and window MUST be open to have any chance of lowering the temperature (even in mid September). We don't know our exact price as it was included in an overall custom tour package we purchased. Beds were "OK".

Stay for a few nights and enjoyed the large comfy bed and the extremely welcoming staff. The food was delicious - espeically the smoked salmon and soda bread. The location is in the heart of the town and provides you with lovely views down the high street and out onto the harbour

This Guest House was in the heart of town which made it a great location to explore the town. It was close to plenty of shops and restaurants. We had a wonderful breakfast that came with our room. The only issue was the street noise at night from all the bars in the area.

We stopped in for early dinner at the 5th Ward Pub side, had appetizers and dessert in the White House Restaurant and stayed overnight in their hotel. The Fish and chips were delicious and desserts were amazing! Our hotel in Kilarney cancelled our reservations with less than 48 hours’ notice. These were paid for 3 months ago. While we were at 5th Ward dining, Brian, the manager, asked if he could get us anything else. We jokingly said, yeah, a room. He brought their hotel manager over, who gave us the two rooms for the night we needed. You should know that everything in the county was completely booked due to an awards show in town. They could not have been kinder or more accommodating. The room was immaculately clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was delicious. They helped us out and treated us like members of their family. I am so grateful to them and would definitely return.

We had a positive stay here for our stop in Kinsale. The staff was very friendly and kind and manager seemed to be everywhere, from the check in to the restaurant to the bar, he was a jack of all trades. There is a great little patio/bar area in the back of the hotel that is tucked away. Location is central to everything. The hotel being on the main street cause it to be very, very noisy since it is across and next to several bars and restaurants. Tough to get relief from the street noise since there is not air conditoning (common in many hotels in Europe) and you must have the windows open to get air in the room. So you have to compromise the Main Street location for the noise levels at night with the windows open to get air in the room, know that ahead of time.
Bathroom is very small and the shower was similar to a motor home shower in size.
Postives: staff is great, location is great
Negatives: street noise level is high because windows need to be open due to no air conditioning, shower and bathroom are very small.

I am currently staying at the White House and this is my 3rd or 4 th visit in the last number of years. As always the staff are great including Mandy Sarah and Donna who look after us in the evenings making sure we get tables for dinner and drinks which is a nightmare for people in the hotel industry at the minute with all the covid restrictions. The food is top class and well priced and always delivered promptly and with a wonderful Kinsale smile.
Rooms are perfect with good beds and good en-suite and the location of the hotel is as central as it gets.
I still have a couple of more nights but as a hotelier myself I feel it was important to put up a post on trip to congratulate all the guys on doing a great job and I can honestly say that should you choose the White House Kinsale than a treat awaits you.

Had Fish and Chips in the restaurant. Quality and quantity were average, we expected better for the price.

A visit to the corridor leading to the toilets is worth a view as has lots of memorabilia relating to 9/11. There is a connection between the owners and the New York Fire Service.

Excellent staff. Good service including the restaurant. Clean rooms. The garden close to the lobby is very nice. Helpful, polite employees and management. The hotel is only 20 minutes away by car or taxi from the city centre Meydan. Grrat for families and couples. The street is lively 24 hours, many restaurants, supermarkets, and money change places. Excellent experience.

Large room, king bed, good linens and pillows. Kinsale is a small town and the hotel is right in the middle, all the restaurants and pubs are within a few blocks. Breakfast in the attached restaurant with a menu. French toast was fab. Old building, freshly done inside. (no elevator)

We visited the restaurant for the first time and I ordered Mushroom Stroganoff, as I am a vegetarian. When the dish arrived I was shocked to see it was a red colour, and as soon as I tasted it , it was very obviously a Red Thai curry, with chicken. I told the French waitress and she apologised and took it back. However 5 min later another staff member appeared with the same dish , minus the chicken, and claimed it was the stroganoff!!!! I actually couldn’t believe it. I was embarrassed for the staff at this point and the place was full so I didn’t want to make a scene. He said I could change to another dish, but insisted this was what I ordered, even though there wasn’t a mushroom to be seen !!!! Luckily I like Thai food, and I was hungry so I ate it, and it was tasty. So much for Kinsale being the gourmet capital of Ireland. That said, this restaurant was nice and service very fast. The chocolate brownie was delicious.

Sorry it too me so long to respond, but we've been traveling. We found NO laundromats ANYWHERE in Ireland. We didn't do laundry in Kinsale. In Killarney, we found a place in the mall that would do your laundry for about 15 euros a load. Figure a load is a medium-sized basket (about 2 feet square) or a bag. We found that our hotel had comparable pricing, so we let them do a load each day for two days. 30 euros total. We didn't travel to Northern Ireland, so I can't speak to that. I would hope you could find a laundry service in Kinsale. Kinsale is quite a tourist destination, so it might be more expensive. Hope this helps you. I don't remember if the White House offered laundry services.
