This little gem of a small hotel was brilliant. Excellent location, outstanding service. Andrew the owner is a gracious host. Joseph, at front desk was very accommodating, and made us reservations for dinner in advance via emails we exchanged. We would definitely return. Kathleen
We had a wonderful stay at Perryville House -- incredible service from the moment we arrived, beautifully decorated rooms, and one of the best breakfasts we enjoyed during our trip to Ireland. It's centrally located in Kinsale so you can walk to most anything. Highly recommend!
A perfect experience, from the moment you arrive and you can park across the road from the lovely old house and someone immediately appears to take you luggage and welcome you. Large and comfortable room and bathroom, lovely common areas and breakfast room. Nice choice of breakfast very well cooked and presented. Large beautiful fresh flower arrangements from the owner's own garden. Good advice on booking restaurants well in advance of coming, and a general feeling of life being made easy for guests. A true guesthouse experience.
My husband and I stayed at Perryville House in early April, 2022. It was the beginning of an 8 week adventure for us. It was fabulous. Our room faced the street and harbor, but we did not have any outside noise. Great location, great breakfast, and wonderful hosts. We have recommended it to others already.
We had a lovely stay at Perryville House! Our room was on the second floor of the main house looking at the back garden and we did NOT experience any of the noise problems cited in other reviews. The Corcorans were wonderful hosts as was the entire staff. This is our second trip to Kinsale and we look forward to another and will definitely stay at Perryville House again. Also, just must mention that the breakfasts are awesome!!
Rarely does one experience the benefits of a brilliant vision flawlessly executed. Perryville House in Kinsale is just such a place. Ideally located right on the waterfront in the centre of town, beautifully designed, furnished and decorated, offering a warm welcome, a supremely comfortable bed and a delicious breakfast, creator and owner Andrew Corcoran and his family have realized their vision of the perfect boutique hotel! Reading other reviews, I realize that we were fortunate in staying in a large and lovely room hewed out of the rock at the back of the building where the only sound we heard was the occasional birdsong. From the time of booking when we were sent an extensive list of recommended restaurants...to our arrival when the porter waved us into a free parking space right across from the entrance... to our frequent conversations with Andrew and other members of his crack service team,...to our reluctant departure from Kinsale..everyone and everything about the hotel made for a perfect stay.…
The hotel Itself is beautiful. Everything from the linens to furniture is high quality with a lot of attention to detail. HOWEVER the walls are very thin…we were kept up most of the night with talking from the first floor beneath us and then with a snoring neighbor. Also - the seaside view is LOUD with the late night bar crowd walking along the streets and with traffic noise. I wish it were everything we were hoping, especially at the high nightly rate we paid, but sadly the thin walls and street noise led us to leave the next morning and book a room at another hotel for the next night down the road (thankfully we only booked one night at Perryhouse to begin with).
My husband and I came for a trip to Ireland and were looking forward to staying at this hotel that seemed to have great reviews! I upgraded our room to splurge when I saw the beautiful sea views in the photos, but the advertisement failed to warn that your room would sit right above arguably the main drag out of the downtown. With very old windows separating the room sitting just above the street, the sea views quickly were less appealing in reality. To be in this small idyllic town and hear the constant roaring of trucks and cars whizzing by when we were trying to relax before dinner was impossible. The traffic calmed in the middle of the night but once 4am hit we got zero sleep and it only got worse with people talking loudly in the halls at 6am, and the traffic was roaring again after 5am--it honestly felt like we were sleeping outside with the windows doing very little to dampen the sound. We went for breakfast and got out of there as quickly as possible. When I mentioned it to the owner (tall woman), she made no apologies and reminded me that this was my fault for booking such a room and that she gave me the sea views I desired and I should have known this was a busy town. I reminded her I'm not from here, and thought to myself you'd never sell this room for this much if you advertised them for high noise level. The sea views make them sound tranquil, but she could care less and spoke to me like a 2 year old she was putting in her place. I was simply suggesting that they alert guests to the possible noise level when checking in just in case they are light sleepers. She said she has plenty of rooms away from the street as options but she didn't seem to agree that she could provide any service by warning her guests and giving them options. She was all about me signing the bill and moving me on my way. For a country filled with the most friendly people we have met, this brought a disappointing end to our stay with an expensive hotel showing no empathy for their guests having a poor experience. I 100% know this is not the first time they've had this complaint and it won't be the last! Beware and don't bother paying a premium for a sea room. Breakfast was delicious.…
Hubby & I stayed 2 nights last week! - only 20 minutes drive from home but felt like we travelled from a long way! We were welcomed so warmly by Andrew, Johnny and staff. They couldn’t have done enough! Beautiful room, fab breakfast and friendly helpful staff….and Kinsale town on the doorstep! And the sun shone! We WILL be back! 👏👏👏👏
We had such a lovely time at The Perryville! It is in a perfect spot and is close to everything. Andrew, Laura, Sinead, Christian and others go the extra mile to make everything just perfect. Truly the finest hotel in Kinsale and one of the finest hotels we've stayed at. My tips would be: Try the Eggs Benedict for breakfast but don't forget to get a scone as well. The night that we arrived we decided to get a pizza and Bruno's Italian made a great one. We went to CRU for dinner on Andrew's recommendation and it was lovely as well. We've added The Perryville to our list of Ireland favorites.
