Dunmore House overlooks the ocean in Clonakilty, Cork. It is a beautiful family-run hotel, close to beach, with numerous walking trails nearby. Owner Carol, and all the staff are very welcoming. Rooms are tastefully furnished, with excellent food and service in both restaurant and bar. Views are absolutely stunning. Would make an ideal wedding location. Highly recommend.
From start to finish, hard to find fault. Super room with a nice balcony and sea view. Issue with broken balcony chair but sorted out wonderfully by receptionist (long plait).Great food, super breakfast menu and top class bar food. Scampi off the wall at €35 but value other than that. Great service from all staff but special mention for Ann Marie and Donna. Up house staff also very friendly. Can’t wait to return. Keep up the good work.
If your travel preferences include a well-appointed hotel, furnished in a casually elegant and intimate style, with outstanding food, service and staff, and located on beautiful ocean coastline, then you must get to the Dunmore House Hotel to experience a rare hospitality treat. My wife and I stayed at Dunmore House for several nights in September during a three week trip to Ireland. The glowing reviews and beautiful website photos do not adequately convey what an oasis this property is. Views of the ocean from the dining room or rooms are superb; a private beach and garden walk area provide guests with easy access to splendid scenery. The blues and greens of the sea are carried through the decor of the hotel, even down to the dining room plates, creating an overall sense of calm. Thick carpet underfoot, comfortable beds with smooth linens, and a large, well-lit, modern and stylish bathroom contribute to making one's stay refined and refreshing. The Dunmore House's level of service is exemplary. The front desk team was very helpful in responding to any request we made and in providing us with great information from a local perspective as to paths to hike, places to eat and "locals only" beaches to visit. The culinary team provided fresh, inventive and delicious selections, many of which were prepared using ingredients harvested from the on-site gardens and greenhouse. Meals are served by an attentive and personable staff, making the entire dining experience pleasurable. Our stay at the Dunmore House was a relaxing oasis; an antidote to the wear of travel and a perfect base from which to explore Ireland's West Cork region. Highly recommended!…
I went there just for a dinner with my cousin and we were lucky to sit outside it was Absolutely amazing view from the balcony. Great and friendly service. I loved the food. It was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant at Dumore House hotel!
Dunmore House was the site for my son's wedding. The views are beautiful, the staff is kind and helpful. The food is excellent. The one thing visitors should know is that it is a ten minute car or taxi ride into Clonakilty. Thank you Dunmore House for everything!!
We visited Dunmore House for dinner with our family (12 people). The menu had some nice options but it was quite expensive. I went for a mushroom risotto but I was very disappointed with it. Service was pretty slow too. I wouldn’t be returning to Dunmore House based on this experience.
A fabulous stay in Dunmore House - everything you could possibly wish for, luxury, amazing food, wonderful hosts, with such wonderful engaging staff - you will not be disappointed. In a wonderful location with breathtaking views of the ocean .
We stayed for 3 nights to attend our friends wedding in the hotel. From the minute we arrived until we left everything was so relaxing and calm. We had such a wonderful stay. The wedding was amazing, beautiful setting, beautiful spaces for each element of the day. The food was delicious and always served with genuine warmth and attention to detail. Breakfast each day was lovely, plenty choice and a wide variety of options. We didn't want to leave. I would recommend to anyone to stay here. I would go back tomorrow and do it all again if i could. Just Wonderful.
Had lunch on the terrace overlooking the sea. Absolutely amazing views, we were blessed with glorious weather. Service was excellent as was the food (if a tad expensive) We went for a walk between mains and dessert as we were so full.
I spent three nights here over the August Bank Holiday weekend and I can not praise this hotel enough. The staff and the food are both excellent and they do everything in their power to make your stay memorable .
