Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just spent two beautiful days down in Clonakilty staying in The Emmet Hotel. Rob, Rebecca and the rest of the staff were so welcoming and hospitable. We had our furry baby(Toby) with us and he was welcomed like all the rest of the dogs that were staying while we were there. The hotel is a lovely boutique still with some old style features as well as new. The breakfast was lovely and we also had dinner both nights we stayed which was very good also. I would definitely stay here again when we are back in Clonakilty l

Comfy room and bed. Very helpful staff. Very good served breakfast. Hotel is in an excellent central position. Not much in the way of restaurants in the town but we enjoyed a good dinner in the hotel

The Emmet hotel is describes as a boutique establishment I could not see any sign of that. Our room and the decor was pedestrian at best. Where they failed entirely, was by providing a sagging mattress- bed. Our room, carpet stained. We had to crouch to use the tiny low sink and then had to be careful not to bang our heads on the bathroom shelf above. Some staff were pleasant, others, nonchalant. Breakfast was okay. We are touring Ireland for two weeks, so far this has been the only low point

I stayed at the Emmet for two nights for a wedding and the staff couldn't have been nicer. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and staff bent over backwards to get us early access to rooms before the wedding. Anything we asked for they accommodated for us. Room was immaculate and beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Can't wait to come back
