Every Thanksgiving, my extended family travels for the week. This year 22 of us, ages 2 to 80, descended upon Longueville House with an exclusive hire. I cannot say enough about the warmth of the welcome and service! Aisling was friendly, warm, and professional throughout the process of booking (including lots of emails back and forth) and while we stayed. Jane visited with us, shared the history of the property and the family, and even printed up a poem for my dad’s 80th birthday. Amy, Laura, Rupert and Michael offered fabulous service at breakfast and dinner.

Each night, we enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by chef William. We are a mix of meat eaters, pescatarians and vegetarians, and he not only accommodated but delighted all of us! Some standout dishes were local deer, lamb, scallops, lentil samosas, and mushroom risotto; yum. Much of the food is local from the gardens and nearby. He is a creative and accomplished chef serving food you would expect at a Michelin-starred restaurant.

They really went above and beyond to make our Thanksgiving dinner special. The dining room was set beautifully and the meal was exceptional.

After dinner at night, we retired to the drawing room where we sipped coffee, Longueville cider, apple brandy, and more by a cozy fire. Rupert made us tasty apple brandy creams and generally took great care of us.

The rooms were comfortable and quiet. I had two of my young nephews in the room above me, and some other young ones just down the hall and never heard anyone while tucked away in my room. The showers had amazing water pressure, which is sometimes hard to find.

Many of us took walks around the property with the dogs, who were so sweet to have with us. They live out in the courtyard buildings, and are always ready for some fun.

We loved everything about our stay, and everyone at Longueville House. If you have the opportunity to stay and eat here, don’t miss it!

I can not say enough about the amazing wedding that my husband and I had at this estate. We decided to host a destination wedding in Ireland for our families who traveled from Australia, the US, Canada, England, etc. to celebrate our marriage. Initially, we had planned to have this wedding weekend in August of 2021, but unfortunately we could not have anticipated the COVID-19 pandemic forcing us to move our date to the following year.

Nevertheless, Aisling and her husband, William, were a delight to work with, even in the event of moving the date. No doubt the pandemic was difficult for many in the service and hospitality industry, but Longueville House never waivered in their quality and standards, and communication with the staff and AIsling herself was nothing but pleasant.

The entire two night exclusive hire felt as though we were visiting distant family. The staff at Longueville House work tirelessly to ensure that all guests feel comfortable and taken care of. The day of the wedding carried on seamlessly into the early hours of the morning. The grounds of Longueville House are kept in beautiful shape, and the home itself is covered in history from floor to ceiling. We couldn't spend enough time walking the grounds, and admiring the art and other historical pieces throughout the venue. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The food cannot be overstated. Above all the service is what makes this place stand out among the rest. We were genuinely sad to leave the day after our wedding.

If you have the chance to visit, please do. We hope to come back some day in the future (hopefully sooner than later!!)

Thank you Aisling, William, and all of the staff at Longueville for your hospitality and for welcoming our rowdy bunch into your home. We had an outstanding experience!

We were dreaming of visiting Longueville House after being unable to visit due to lockdowns. It was a last minute decision to visit for a birthday treat and fortunately we got in on a cancellation and we Thanked our lucky stars.
Driving up the driveway excitement set in and on arrival we were warmly welcomed by Aishling O Callaghan the proprietor as if we were old friends .
Checking in was perfect and we relaxed in the gracious drawing room over complimentary tea and cake .
Later we wandered into the garden where we delighted to see lots of spring veggies being nurtured .
pre Dinner drinks were served at seven and William the very talented chef proprietor explained the set dinner menu he had prepared. We chatted to the other guests and the atmosphere set the tone for a most relaxed fine dining dinner.
Every course was so tasty and beautifully served countyhouse style .
We were served venison for mains with purple sprouting broccoli from the garden.
Our red wine was reasonably priced for a reserve Bordeaux 2018 at 39 euros .
A local cheese was served with in house preserves and very good bread basket.
This was followed by a yummy chocolate dessert and we returned to the drawing room for coffee and a night cap.
After a great nights sleep we took a walk before breakfast down the long avenue and admired the ancient oak trees to the sound of birdsong and noticed wild pheasants grazing freely .
After a delicious breakfast we said goodbye to our fellow guests and promised ourselves we will return mid summer to once again enjoy this very special hideaway..

I will admit that my first stay at Longueville House was nearly 30 years ago. I visited again a few years ago and found the same top 'o the line service as on my first visit. The house was built in 1721 and replaces the family castle, the ruins of which are visible in the valley below. The food is exceptional supported by their working farm with fresh vegetables picked each day and lamb and foul also from the farm. The relaxing music, grand piano and cello were an added treat for relaxing in the evening. It is amount my most memorable stays anywhere in the world. I highly recommend Longueville House wholeheartedly.

We booked Longueville House for a 2 night weekend away. This was our first time there and we weren’t disappointed. We drove up the long driveway to find a beautiful house standing overlooking the grounds. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist and later by the owner Aisling O’ Callaghan who really made us feel welcome. The room we booked was the Blackwater Room which had an amazing view from the front of the house.
We had afternoon tea and relaxed in the drawing room. Later we were greeted by the owner chef William O’ Callaghan who explained the menu for dinner. The food was exceptional over the whole weekend and mainly home grown or sourced locally. The staff were very nice and couldn’t be more professional and helpful.
We would highly recommend you stay here and enjoy the walks around the grounds or a quite drink in front of the roaring fire. It certainly is a place to chill out and relax and get away from everything.

My son and I had an utterly delightful stay In Longueville house in late June. Our bedroom, an upgrade was beautiful, large and fabulously comfortable with lovely linen and big plump down pillows the likes of which are rare as hens teeth
In even the best of hotels.

And OMG the food - every morsel from William’s conception, charming pre-dinner description in the drawing room to the truly fine dining experience was lifetime memorable. Everything is seasonal.

Nearly everything is sourced from the estate or nearby and you can tell. I have been fortunate to eat in exceptional and starred restaurants all over the world and I can honestly say Longueville is up there with the best of them.

It is above all warm, so welcoming and friendly, a place to completely unwind in front of a roaring fire. The grounds are amazing for walking with the dogs. We swam in the Blackwater - hope to fish there another time!

Thank you Aishling for being unbelievably kind and helpful when my son fell ill with an abscess on his tooth.

Can’t wait to return!

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous weekend at this beautiful country house, Ashling is the most welcoming and amenable hostess, from allowing us use of their bikes with bottled water and homemade cookies for our trip and the lovely chats she really added to our getaway. The house is beautiful, comfortable and super clean and William's excellent culinary skills made for an amazing dining experience, a special shout out to the fabulous breakfast scones and beautiful home grown vegetables. This country house offers terrific value, we will be back! Thank you Longueville!

Longueville House. What a dreamy time there. Never mind the big luxurious bedroom with a bed so big to more enjoy “the chase”! Log fire in the evening looking out on the old oaks in the footprints of the Battle of Waterloo while having a Longueville Apple brandy. Such renewal wandering in the walled garden looking at pleached gages and apple trees and gooseberries and the vegetables in rows. The sustainability of it all. Wandering too in the orchards, the dark woods and gazing up at the old fortified walls of their ancestral medieval castle by the river. We could have fished here. Afternoon tea with the most soft lemon cake and mulled cider to warm the soul.Music from the past and the lovely chef in his scrubs called into the drawing room to tell us about our dinner. This was just gorgeous on both nights. Inviting books lay on every table so interesting that I wished we were snowed in there for a month. I loved Longueville.

Aisling and William are exceptional hosts! We were travelling from Dublin on Friday evening and Aisling rang us on our way to make sure she was including us in the guest numbers for dinner. We swiftly checked in and were put at ease in the living room where we enjoyed a drink while William explained the evening's menu. What followed was one of the best meals I have eaten in Ireland and the rest of the weekend brought more of the same. This should be one of Ireland's top foodie destinations. We'll be back!

We visited Longueville House in October 2019. My husband is a fan of their cider so this prompted us to 'look it up'. Seeing it offers a different experience to the traditional hotel we decided to celebrate our anniversary there. Our first booking clashed with a wedding. We were told if we could change they would upgrade our room and offered prosecco on arrival. We had no issue deferring and instead decided to go a different weekend and add an extra night. On arrival the staff are very efficient and friendly. Instead of prosecco there was some lovely champagne waiting for us which set the tone for the weekend. Lots of food, drink, country walks and a break from a hectic world. The farm tour is a must. Our guide was lovely. Finished off by a visit to the pigs before we got to sample their famous cider and apple brandy. It is different to traditional hotels. No lifts so do highlight accessibility issues if they exist. The bedding is also old fashioned sheets blankets and eiderdowns which I probably wasn't a fan off. However on the whole its a strong recommendation.
