Had an excellent two night stay here. Don't expect all the modern bells and whistles, like charging stations, etc. But an amazing, kind staff and the best meal of my time in Ireland. Try the bacon and cheese salad...it's delicious. Local foods used to prepare delicious dishes.
Very pleased with our stay. It was just one night, but staff were friendly and helpful, rooms really big and we'll equipped, and breakfast was fine. Didn't have time to try the Leisure facilities...but in all a pleasant stay. Based on other reviews I was probably expecting it to be more dated inside, but was pleasantly surprised.
Such a great experience! A charming family owned hotel with top notch food and service. Clean, air conditioned, comfy beds. We enjoyed the breakfast options and had a lovely dinner in the restaurant. Donegut, the bartender, took good care of us in the Dan Buckley Bar.
Castle Hotel was our wedding venue and i couldn't be more happy with all the services from them. Staffs were very friendly and helpful, in special Kay. Food was delicious. Great location in main street Macroom its close to Gougane Barra Oratory Church.
We stayed here for a few days before and after my sisters wedding at the end of April. Kay and all of the team were so accommodating to all of us, and the restaurant food was top quality! A wonderful break and would definitely recommend.
Booked into this hotel as part of a wedding for a family member. The Hotel staff were the most accommodating and very welcoming to talk to especially Kay, who greeted us when we first arrived at the hotel. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner all amazing throughout the day while food was tasty and top quality the portions were very generous as well. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in the Cork Region
I was lucky enough to spend a couple nights at this hotel. Accommodations are very comfortable but the thing that completely bowled me over was Dan Buckley’s Bar. What seems like an endless bar winding through two or three rooms….bartender Donegat (Dennis to a Yank like me) was utterly charming and hilarious. Live music some nights, quite a few friendly locals…I’m going back to Ireland some time even if it’s just to spend more time at this wonderful place!
I can't rate the Castle Hotel highly enough, we had the most perfect wedding celebration, the fantastic hotel staff managed every detail for us allowing us (bride and groom) to relax and enjoy our day. From the moment I contacted them Kay was so helpful and ready to answer any question I had. She was great with helping plan out the timing of the day so everything ran smoothly. Nothing was impossible, from having rooms reserved nearer to the lift or with easier access to ensuring all our guests were fed and watered until we got back from taking photographs. All of our guests remark favourably on the food. It was delicious and the portions so generous. I highly recommend the hake! The bedrooms are large with plenty of space for getting ready. The honeymoon suite was amazing, from a purple velvet soft that featured in many photos to the rose petal strewn bed complete with bride and groom pillows We were able to party till the wee hours, starting in a lovely cosy dining area perfectly size for our party, before moving to the bar area around midnight where the helpful staff pulled tables together for us so we could keep the party going. The last round of water was much appreciated!…
I stayed in the castle Hotel this past week and had a great time. When I walked in there what a lovely place, walked into reception took my breath away. The staff were wonderful especially Justin and Sean on Sunday night couldn't have asked for more. I felt so at ease and mellowed sitting in this hotel bar. Highly recommended 5 star rating, David Elton.
We spent 2 nights here on our tour around Ireland. It was definitely our favorite stay. The food was AMAZING. Jack and Donika (sorry if I spelled that wrong) were the absolute best! They treated us like family and made our stay very memorable. Thank you all so much for such a great experience!
