This is a lovely guest house. Big and spacious. The views are gorgeous. The lady at reception was lovely to deal with with all COVID measures in place. Would definitely stay again when restrictions are lifted.
Tired and hungry from a day of traveling, we were referred to this B and B from a popular hotel in downtown Macroom that had 0 vacancy. Rooms were small, but cozy, featuring colonial style furniture that reeked of historical significance. Another place in time. Our reception was warm and friendly, Miss Bernie was also the cook and bartender. Food was awesome, the Guinness cold. Full Irish breakfast next morning outstanding and good for the soul. Thank you Miss Bernie, we'll see you on our next adventure.
Have been before and hope to visit again. Good value, good food, clean ,welcoming, with good service. Made for a great weekend. Ideal place to make your base for touring around this beautiful part of Eire
Had the best weekend in this lovely effortless house.. so simple but yet so perfect.. breakfast is the nicest breakfast I've ever had, the bed was the contest bed I've ever slept in simply bliss. Bernie is so accomdating and the people are lovely. Local taxi man Denis is an absolute gent of a man. Even enjoyed coffee with this view. Can't wait to go back in March.
Could be one of the oldest places I’ve ever stayed in, felt like I was living in a different time period. it was well kept and had an absolutely fabulous breakfast. There was a little bit of a musty smell but I got used to it after a few minutes
It's a lovely old house with a very interesting history, right on the River Lee. The grounds and house are very nice, and there's a tiny pub for a drink or a light meal. It's a fair walk from Macroom if you don't have a vehicle, but worth it. Bernie is lovely, and I would gladly stay here again. Thanks Bernie, I really enjoyed my stay, and meeting you.
Beautiful views, good location, very clean, breakfast delicious, Bernie and her staff team were so pleasant and very helpful, I booked for 4 night's, but only stayed for 1, as my Dad wasn't well and needed to go home, Bernie was very understanding, I would definitely return and recommend Coolcower House Yvonne
Myself and the GF stayed here fir 1 night and had a pleasant stay. The place is just on river is nice and parts are like a step back in time. But that's the vibe they go for and pull it off. They've a bar and all which is cool. Rooms warm and clean. Nice stop off.
I spent a week there in April with my father, we were there on a golfing holiday, we picked this place as it was close to the Macroom Golf Club. The woman who manages the hotel is very nice and makes a mean breakfast, which for us Italians who are used to coffee and a cigarette is a nice break. The breakfast was really epic, very much liked it. The place also has its own pub, which opens on demand, so if you fancy a pint in the afternoon you can just ask either the owner or her son to open it and they will open the door and pour you some stouty goodness. That was also perfect, especially since you can sit outside and enjoy a marvelous view over that lake. The rooms are nice, silent and spacious. It's also clean. Positive points: -Great location -Nice friendly staff -Awesome hearty breakfast with blood sausage and bacon -Great lake views -Nice garden with rabbits and squirrels Nothing negative to say. Would definately visit again if I ever find myself back in Ireland. Luca…
Marvelous location with very cosy rooms, great hospitality, somewhat dated interior but large room, excellent bed, all required accommodations to spend a few days in lovely surroundings. Large parking.
