Spent 2 days in the Grand and we have to say that our expectations were higher. After travelling all day we decided to get a quick break in Dublin for two days. The hotel needs to improve a lot of things. Food was just ok, with a very basic menu. The breakfast was always busy and not enough space, you...

Found the bedrooms a bit dated and shower curtains seem a bit retro nowadays and although we do like the hotel and town we would like to see it move with the times and justify the 4 star rating and pricing structure Bar food was a disappointment chips in a bucket are a distraction to a very poor prawn open...

This is now a very big hotel on the seafront in Malahide. It has various room options (we needed connecting rooms) with the better ones being in the newest part. Our room and bathroom was a bit dated. Facilities are good (bar, lounges, breakfast etc) though my 16 year old son was not happy with rules in pool area (could...

Four stars! more like two! When spending 300 plus euros for DBB I expect a reasonable level of good service. Our experience overnighting in October this year was way below the level one would expect from a four star rated hotel, especially one called "Grand". On arrival, reception was less than welcoming, room not bad, but somewhat outdated, dinner was...

Based in Dublin, by the sea and in the village of Malahide it was the perfect location for our special day. From the very first meeting the staff were extremely friendly, professional and they had an extremely high level of customer service. Damien and...

We had stayed in Dublin overnight and on the way home called into The Grand Hotel for a coffee. Hotel was nicely decorated for xmas. Grace and Trish were very friendly. We just had a latte and cappuccino and a bun between us. Coffee was 3.50 euros each. A bun is 2.20. Service was friendly.

I've stayed at this hotel for business in the Swords area and given Malahide isn't that far away, it's nice to be by the coast and stay in a hotel with some heritage and character, as opposed to staying in a soulless airport hotel. It's quite a big hotel with great facilities including a 20m swimming pool and gym. The...
