We were treated with the utmost of kindness during our stay, from check-in to check-out - thanks Holly! The room was lovely & clean with a gorgeous view of the sea. We enjoyed a few beers in the Jamieson Bar, where we had great chat with the lovely Edel :) Thank you for such a wonderful stay.
On June 12th the Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links hosted a reception, in honor of our son and new daughter-in-law for 45 guests. My family stayed at the facility for 4 days and most of the guests stayed the night after the reception. The facility is fantastic with picturesque settings on Dublin bay and a world class golf course; however, the best part of the visit was the hotel management and staff. Amanda Kevlin was the event coordinator and everything was flawless. On the day Conor Dugan was the event manager. The level of service from Amanda and Conor was A+. Coordinating 30 rooms was not easy and was handled by Yan. Yan is the hotel manager and she worked very hard to make sure all of my guests were provided everything they needed. I highly recommend this for any event and will return soon. Thank you to the Portmarnock Hotel staff!…
When we arrived initially our room was not ready but it cleared during check in. The room was spacious. Bed was comfortable as were the pillows. It did lack amenities no tea or coffee making facilities. Soap and shampoo from dispensers at the WHB and the shower. No mini bar or fridge. Although we had internet we had issues getting enough speed to use our box so had to give up in the end as internet speed too slow. Breakfast was buffet style. Given that the fried eggs looked like they had been there a while and yolks looked hard I opted for poached eggs. Unfortunately these were overdone with the yolks hard. Sent them back and got properly cooked ones the second time. My wife had the same issue with her poached eggs but just left them in the end. The following day they had no croissants at breakfast. There must be serious staff shortages as after a good night's sleep our room was not made up until after 4pm and our friends room was never made up when they went back to it at 5pm. Nice Hotel but did not deliver on amenities, breakfast could be improved, and housekeeping suffering from staff shortages.…
Check into hotel very friendly on reception.. We had dinner in the Bar/Restaurant staff brilliant very efficient.. Connor the bar manager he was outstanding couldn’t do enough for us.. Well done Connor we would visit again..
Great food, Great Golf, Great Craic. Stunning golf course, with the utmost professionalism. Staff were very warm and welcoming. Chicken burger was amazing, with beautiful handcut chips. Definitely recommend
Went to visit the spa. Sez was excellent and I totally enjoyed the massage. They wouldn’t accept payment in cash, when I asked for change to tip in cash I was told they had none. It was the same upstairs when I went to go for something to eat, so I left to eat somewhere else that did accept cash. Cash is still legal tender and should be accepted everywhere. I won’t be back until cash is accepted again.
Arrived at hotel and was told the bar and restaurant (spike bar) would open at 12pm. Unfortunately and more frustrating was the fact that the bar and restaurant didn't open and we had to walk around the complex to find a bar that was open. Prices seemed very over priced across the whole complex which is always a shame. Golf course was something else and was treated well by the golfing side.
This is a most welcoming hotel in a beautiful spot. We were in Portmarnock for a funeral, a very sad occasion but the staff went the extra mile to ensure the funeral reception was a celebration for our family member. A very warm and welcoming stay.
Robert our waiter/bartender was the most supporting person we could ever wish for, Rob has made our experience more then 10x better then it should have, if anyone is going here for dinner I would recommend asking for rob as a waiter he explains every meal and drink to you in bef good detail. The rooms are fairly nice and comfortable and the bar food is worth the wait. We loved our stay in the Portmarnok hotel and golf links and would definitely stay again
I stayed here for one night with my aunt and was very disappointed, having stayed last summer and loved it.This time around the staff in the coffee dock were very reluctant to give us a table mid afternoon despite there being many free tables available. The Caesar salad served was very poor with limp lettuce and rubbery chicken, noone questioned why it was left uneaten.Breakfast was shocking.....dirty delph piled high on some tables, no offer of tea or coffee, hot foot dried out under the lamps and no bread or toast for the table. Overall a complete lack of awareness of what good service should be, very disappointing as location and premises are lovely but I won't be back.
