Stayed for 1 night was dreading after reading negative reviews.
Easy check in friendly and welcoming.
Room was good quite small there was quite a big table between the wall and bed which I found a bit odd but there was just about enough room. The room was spotless and comfortable.
The bathroom was clean but did need a bit of upgrading also when standing in bath for shower the bottom of bath made acreekingsound so it maybe needs replaced but all in all clean.
Food in bar was good and drinks reasonable price nice cocktails and service good. Breakfast good no buffet the waitress got u any items needed ie fruit juice cereal pastries etc the cooked breakfast was good.
Would stay again if got a good deal.
The view is stunning. Great location

We stayed 3 nights in total, at either end of a 10 day trip. Initial impression was of a pretty tired hotel - very dated rooms that are more than ready for a refurb. The location is great, right on the beach, but the poor weather on both our visits meant we weren’t able to really appreciate that. On the plus side, the staff were really helpful, eg printing off a bus timetable and finding us change for bus fares into Dublin. Yes, you can get a bus almost outside, right into the centre of Dublin. Breakfast was really good.

The start off our stay wasnt the best for a family off 4 i felt our room was very dingy looking and very cramped with a camp bed in the middleoff double and single bed. Room 207 should be redesigned and definitely not fit for a family. Very dated couldnt even sit on toilet properly because it right up against the radiator and toilet holder.
Dinner service was slow however we were apologised too and given a free drink to apologise which i thought was such a nice gesture and they were busy. If im honest the owner was there and chatting to what seemed to be locals and just felt he could off helped the staff who were run off their feet.
Then when back at room that evening my child sat on camp bed and it collapsed which he was in shock and hurt his back. I immediately went down and complained to reception and duty manager came out and spoke to me she was lovely and so nice. She came up to room after and said she was moving us to a new room as a way off an apology and again offered us a drink.
We moved to room 233 and 234 which were connecting rooms and wow real hotel feel rooms, so modern and a big boost from room 207. We were given a drink and the duty manager and her son both helped us move and gave goody boxes for the kids and were so lovely and kind.
These things happen with camp beds but honestly room 207 should be done up and not sold as it is now.
Honestly the 4 star rating is for the duty manager and her son and how the bar people handle the busy busy evening.
Breakfast was very very very slow and unfortunately i walked out numerous times with my son who has autism because he was gettin so frustrated sittin for so long and not able to understand why as he is non verbal.
More staff needed and again owner present at breakfast with people he knew and seemed no interested other than chatting to friends.

Honestly owner should be more hands on. Looks very unfriendly to guests unless he knows you.

Overall the room we moved to and the staff are the only reason it gets a four star rating especially duty manager and her son who was on duty saturday evening. Even she was on hand helping out in the bar serving food and drinks etc
Should be the overall manager if you ask me

I needed to stay near Swords for a night last week and tried out the White Sands as it was convenient to Malahide also. The hotel is set on a coastal road and looks out to sea. It is undergoing a renovation but it did not impact my stay. I arrived late and was met with a friendly reception and then went up to my room. The room was a good size with a view overlooking the sea. It was spotlessly clean and I could not fault it. I chose to eat breakfast, an additional €10 as I booked room only. The food was excellent and the restaurant was bright and airy and well laid out with a friendly waitress. There was a great selection of food on offer. There was no noise during my midweek stay and I availed of the free car park on site. This hidden gem charges less than local competitors and is well worth checking out - or in !

have to say location is fantastic BUT the hotel itself is in need of an upgrade the room we had was tidy in itself but the bathroom was not water seeping from the base of the toilet (not a nice colour) hairs in the bath/shower which looked as though it hadn't been cleaned. We booked dinner and breakfast next day,my wife had fish and chips it was cold in the middle they apologised and sent another out which was then overcooked, breakfast was passable. I cannot fault the staff they were all very pleasant and attentive in these trying times. My daughter and husband + 7month old child were in the room next to us and said crisp packet underneath the bed again obvious not very tidy. Definitely not worth what we paid for. Fra,

Arrived  @10.30pm  to be advised the hotel was  closing for lock down due to government advise in the morning . We had pre paid for 3 nights, non refundable and asked if possible for a credit note or voucher to return at a later time  on advise from 3rd party we booked with.
Hotel  refused  stating credit note would mean they would be black listed but continued to refund the 3rd back the money which left us out of pocket. Totally disappoint in the management and the result.  Do not recommend this hotel purely on their attitude . A simple credit note would have gone a long way at a difficult time for those working on the front line during this pandemic .

We arrived early as we only had a couple of nights break. We found the hotel in a great location with the best sea views ever and needless to say a packed beach on a very hot day. Great value for money with special offers which included breakfast and evening meal made for a great weekend. We found the food Above average. The staff were Very helpful from reception to Restaurant and bar staff and the rooms are comfortable. Great stay and will definitely return.

On return visit to White Sands, we have been pleasantly surprised, new (female) GM, rooms spotlessly clean, professional and attentive staff and the highest standards of Covid safety.
Staff have always been a key positive of this establishment from bar to accommodation to restaurant but great to see all the little improvements.
Fantastic location with superb views.
Keep up the great work🥰

I have to say this was a great experience. We stayed here for the weekend and I can’t explain how much we enjoyed the place. Let’s start with the reception, Anne, Catherine and Lorraine were ace.
The food was fab, we had breakfast and dinner. I think Bernie was the breakfast chef who made the most perfect poached eggs. We went for a stroll along the beach to Malahide and returned after the day for a lovely meal. Stefan took care of us and we had a lovely meal, side note: chocolate soil; lovely.
We stayed over Sunday and were treated to a beautiful roast, which included poussin, a rare treat. I heard Paul and Johnny cooked for us and we don’t regret it at all. The poussin was delish.
We can’t wait to return again and have some gorgeous cocktails that they produced. A quick nod to Warren for those pornstar martinis.
Anyway, thanks so much for the stay!

Ps. A special mention to Sean for being Sean. A true gent!!

Stayed here for 1 night. Room was basic, clean and reasonable value for money. The hotel is disappointing in its food offerings and lack of supervision. The hotel seems to be gearing for attracting drinkers and the food is just a mere offering. Its very limited with no starter options. Why? Covid does not attack people who have starters. The other very disappointing offering is breakfast. Choice of a breakfast bap or crossant with melted grated cheese. Why such a limited offering? The worst part of all with the 1 hour 10 minute wait for it, because the person in the kitchen, (refuse to call him a chief or cook). was totally disorganised and clueless. The bap consisted of 1 very nice rasher, 2 cocktail sausages slit lengthways, 1 fried egg in a brioch bun, and a little bit of realish. (€7).
I would stay here again, i would not opt to include a meal as you can book a slot on arrival, which will secure your place in the bar. Last food order is 6.45pm. Why so early? Breakfsst i recommend nipping to the spar next door and get a decent breafast roll for €5, and not wait over an hour for it.

Hi, I am afraid that we do not have this service. However, Dublin Bus (Public Bus service) No. 102 goes from the airport to a bus stop right in front of the hotel should you require it. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other queries. Kind regards, Catherine Breslin

Why does the ad for the hotel show a picture of a nearby golf clubhouse? Seems deceiving.

Portmarnock Links is about a 5minute walk from the hotel but in no way affiliated with the hotel, polar opposites in terms of stature albeit the hotel isn’t that bad, good for a pint and food.

Malahide is very small, as far as I know, there are no Pubs that have over night accommodation. Best to try for a B&B in Malahide
