Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We fell in love with the Waterfront. It is so welcoming and the staff are so friendly. The place is warm and clean and the food is excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the owner who supervises personally. Our room had a great view out over the bay where we could watch the surfers. Some folks have a morning dip at the pier nearby. This hotel may not be the biggest or the grandest but for us it lived up to its motto “ home from home “

The Waterfront is a top class establishment, it ticks all the boxes. Genial receptionist Deirdre greeted me with a smile and made me feel at home straightaway. I had a spacious sea view room so I could sit watching the Atlantic breakers, better than the TV! Both dinner and breakfast were delicious , and waitress Tracy was friendly and efficient. Oh and compliments to the girl who does the playlists, the music was great!

This is a destination hotel and well worth that little bit extra. Everything was on the next level up. The initial impression of this boutique hotel was the large windows giving a light and airy feel in the interior which has been well cared for and refurbished over the years The quality fixtures and fittings throughout give the impression of understated opulence. The magnificence of the views over the beach, sea and bay were probably the best of any hotel we have stayed at. If we were not attending a wedding we would have gladly stayed in the hotel and just taken in the views. Stunning All the staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was quality. The breakfasts were cooked to order with a wide option available. We had the full Irish on both mornings and all five of us were very impressed (and full) We stayed in room 102 (first floor double) a super spacious bedroom with two windows and a table and chairs to take in the fantastic views. The bed was large, comfortable and gave a good nights sleep. The bath had a large shower head over it and was more than adequate. What was particularly nice was that the hotel was warm throughout, so much so we had to turn the heating down when sleeping. There was free parking in the car park to the rear of the hotel and a door which gave level access to the first floor bedrooms which was good for suitcases etc Talking to others at the wedding it appears that this smaller hotel offered a more personal experience and individual decor than the larger ones which felt more corporate. I would highly recommend the Waterfront House and given the opportunity we would definitely, definitely go back again.

The location and the accommodations were excellent. The staff was friendly and second to none. The breakfast was the best I’ve had so far in Ireland. A morning walk on the beach is highly recommended.

Stayed here in September. It was my first year with a group of golfers who have stayed here on their yearly trips for many years. Friendly welcome, spacious room with 2 double beds and a view out onto the ocean. Great vegetarian options and all our party with a number of choices off the menu. I had the shepherdless pie which I would reccomend. Breakfast order was taken the night before as we were golfing early and everything was well organised. Cant wait to go back.

We were met with a warm welcome at this hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable with large windows that overlooked the bay Our breakfasts taken in the restaurant offered lots of choice and what we chose was delicious. We eat again in the restaurant each evening of our 3 night stay and the food again was superb and I could tell it was cooked with care Had a very enjoyable stay, took some trips out in our car which just highlighted the beauty of the area. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to killcullen seaweed baths just a few steps along the road Would highly recommend this hotel if you want a relaxing break away with good good and service

This hotel was excellent Surrounded by a very quiet and romantic area with a beautiful sunset to enjoy (of course if the days are not rainy!). It's rather easy to find a car park in front of the hotel, but the hotel has its own with direct access to rooms area. The rooms were very good and with a romantic view over the bay and its sunset. Hotel staff was very welcoming and nice and you can have a pleasant talk with them!! Restaurant for dinner and breakfast are pleasant and have a very nice view on the bay. In conclusion: an hotel to go back to again and again and again! Very much suggested!!

This was recommended, we had been warned it could be pricey. lovely location on the cliff road just away from the main street. A nice relaxing atmosphere with sea view if you get the right table. At first glance the menu seems pricy but then you never know until to get the meal. We had a starter - a chef's day special fish bon-bon (two very small round mixed fish balls with a nice sauce) €13, definitely not good value, had there been five or six maybe. Main course was chef's day special Salmon and Beef Burger - nothing special here - you'd easily cook these up at home and thats difference between paying a premium and not, getting something special. Great service but poor value. Average portions, maybe a little on the small side but enough. Don't think I'd visit again unless some else was paying :-) . Best of luck to them I just a expect a little more for the price charged.

The Waterfront can cater for large groups and family occassions. It's unique selling point is on street parking sceni views of the sea. Dinner was a set menu with a good choice. Service was friendly and on time. Beef dinner was very tasty. This establishment is under selling its potential. It's a quiet spot away from the main street where you can enjoy a family dinner. All good on the customer service and food. It could do with a sign outside the main door to direct you to the reception area as it's unclear where the main door is and gives the impression it is closed. Maybe two standing plants by the door to draw the customer eyes to the main entrance. Possibly an A board outside to state we are open and offering a nice lunch or dinner. This could increase footfall.
