We stayed here as a family for two nights in July. We were very disappointed with the quality of the property for the price we had paid. It is very outdated. The garden had dog poo in it from a previous guest I expect so we couldn’t let our small children out in it. I was charged € 15 extra for a high chair which I felt should have been complimentary. Just overall I think that the price per night does not reflect the quality of the house.

I recently stayed at White maple with this company. All in extremely dissapointed wiht the staff and you couldnt pay me to use them again. We stayed 2 nights and on the second night a security alarm went off at 1.30am then again at 6am, we called the out of horus number who had no idea what it was etc. We were assured we would receive a call 9am on the dot when the office opened in the morning to sort. (9am came no call, i had to call them shortly after to come round). When the member of staff did arrive he was laughing and joking which wasnt at all appropriate as there was a house of 5 pople exhausted and very much annoyed. We told him we wouldnt be happy to pay for the 2nd night as no one got any sleep and we payed 90 euro supplement to bring our 3 rescue dogs which we also said we werent happy to pay given that they were all terrified from the insanely loud security alarm. The member of staff agreed and said he wouldnt be happy to pay that either and promissed to sort with management. This is the sole and only reason we left then and didnt go straight to the office. By the next week we still hadnt heard back so we called and were told they were busy this that week but next week should be quieter then would look at their odds and ends then?? Yes that was actualy their stance. Next week again after that came we emailed and were fed some nonsense about the owner being out of contact (how?? given the potential for emergencies i find it impossible to beleive the owner couldnt be contacted). We were told a 100 euro refund had been processed this was a fraction of what we stated we wouldnt be paying for. We were told this was all the owner would give. We werent asked or given any form of two way discussion simply told the matter was closed. When we pionted out that wasnt on and their staff member agreed he wouldnt be happy to pay either as per our conversation they accused myself and partner of lying. As it stands we have pointed out we had no interaction with the house owner our interactions were with them as a company and it falls on them to make this right, they have refused and are now ignoring our contact, we have asked for confirmation of the staff member who labeled us liars they have opted to ignore us, we have asked for confirmation fo their regulator, they have ignored us and we have asked for confirmation of their full professional details and you guessed it, they have ignored us. So we had a terrible end to the stay, 3 traumitised dogs with the stomachs run out of them and we are out of pocket many hundres of euro with an agency that wont reply to anything and appears to care only for their profit margins and nothing else. What exactly is the point in using a letting agency when they dont do anything?? A few other things to note, 2 rolls of toilet paper in the entire house for 5 people for 2 nights?? and very little in the way of towels, no hand towels in bathrooms, no main waste bin at the property at all,no teatowels, no cleaning products despite requiring cleaning on leaving. All round completely unacceptable, We will be escalating to their regulator and considering legal action as this is simply unacceptable.

We got charged 10 euro a towel because there was make up on the towels. Taken straight from our deposit. Shouldn't bother leaving towels if that's the case. Pathetic. Considering the price we paid aswell, the house was very outdated. Will not be back

Never been to Donegal before so this was a 1st. Our accommodation was for a mother, 19 yr old son & 2 small dogs. The bungalow was well appointed, VERY clean. An enclosed garden for the dogs. No Wi Fi was a bit off a let down, so Firestick was off no use. On leaving the property, had a lovely chat with staff who come n check you haven't had a Rave & wrecked the gaff. Bundoran is great for families or couples who can wine n dine, etc. Not so for Furry Friend owners, so were quite limited to restaurants n bars

We stayed here for three nights. Nice big house but a few negatives. One of the bedrooms and ensuite hadn't been cleaned and there was a strong smell that seemed to be from the carpet. Only one electric shower, the rest were regular showers. Very hard to regulate the temperature of the water in the taps. Went from cold to boiling within seconds. My grand daughter burned both her hands on the first day, luckily we caught it in time and got it sorted with cold water and burn gel. Only four towels left out and no hand towels. Honestly for the price we paid I was expecting a little more.

The accommodations were very poor, and you could tell the house wasn’t deep cleaned. There was 3 roles of toilet paper meant to be enough for 8 people over the weekend, 4 towels for us as well. The chairs in the living room were broken, and most doors didn’t have functioning locks. The staff were extremely rude and honestly creeped us out. The check out time was 10am, staff walked into our cottage at 9:55 telling us to get up and get moving. Another staff member returned at 10:00 on the dot and was ordering us around like children to collect any cups for our room and to get cleaning. Considering the price of this stay, it’s outrageous that we were expected to sweep up the place, strip the beds, and clean the dishes… she came into our rooms when some were gathering their last things, ordering them to hurry up and get out of the house. The owner should never come into the house with the guests still there, walking around and ordering us about it was shockingly rude. Do not come here if you don’t like to be bossed around like a child by the staff. I understand if guests are overstaying late and they get kicked out but I feel this type of reaction in our case is unreasonable.

Piece of Paradise @ No 16 Portbeg Holiday Homes. Great Location and Chill Out Zone. Well furnished house, albeit bathrooms looking a little tired and in need of freshening up. Great host and a must for families. Helpful & Professional at reception with local knowledge to share and places of interest and a small but welcoming plate of tea, coffee milk sugar upon arrival with a little biscuit too ! Simply lovely and if any problems of which we only had one, a lamp shade broken once reported actioned immediately. Great service and will recommend for a friends and family get away.

Second year to stay at Portbeg Holiday Homes and won't be the last. Lovely warm welcome, and comfortable Spotlessly clean house , everything you need is there for self catering. Kids had their own room with en suite. Close to beach and carnival which is lovely walk from house. We brought our dog and even recieved treats for him at check in! Wouldn't even know pets were in house it's so clean. We had to change our dates and was sorted in one phone call, no bother. Will be booking for next year again.
