Our family party of 8 from America stopped in on a rainy afternoon and were greeted by a warm, cozy fire. Our Grandmother emigrated from the area in the 1920's..The barman was very friendly and on the top of his game getting the drinks orders sorted quickly and accurately all the while managing a nice conversation...good selection of tap beers all served cold and in proper glasses...highest recommendation if visitng Ballina
I often use The Loft when I book acts for the local Arts Centre and it is always clean, comfortable and friendly. The building has an older character to it, which is nice and it is centrally located and secure.
I stayed at the Loft between Stephen's Day and New Year's Day. It was the perfect exclamation mark for the Holiday season. The Loft offers: warm and comfortable rooms, attentive and friendly staff, quiet location albeit right on Pearse Street, easy street and / or off-street parking, great pub and food immediately below. I will book again when I next visit Ballina.
Guesthouse located above a pub. The staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very comfortable. Furniture a little dated but not shabby. Bed was SO comfortable. Great nights sleep. Tea and coffee available in the room. Along with complimentary bottles of water. Only fault was bathroom was a little small and could do with an upgrade. Would definitely stay here again. We were on a room only rate so cant comment on breakfast.
I'd be a frequent visitor to Ballina so I have my "usual spots" to eat in. Today I decided to try somewhere different and called into The Loft for some lunch. I did not leave disappointed. The food was served very fast and was a very decent size meal. There was a great variety of sandwiches which made it hard to choose from. A very friendly girl called Alyisa served me. She had a great knowledge of the menu and helped me choose the dish that I thoroughly enjoyed. She flew around the floor and is as good as having three or four other staff members on the floor, that girl needs a pay rise, very hard worker, it's staff like that that keep these places going. I'll be sure to be back and to pass on the good word.
