Oh dear. This is their ham sandwich. Their website says 24hr room service but I was told on arrival at 9 that all food had finished. The room was dirty, carpet stains and ripped chair and broken drawers. Sellotaped buttons in the lift. Decor is dated and needs replacing. I was in a delux room so maybe there are worse.
Attended a big wedding here recently. The aperitifs were so tasty, great atmosphere and buzz in the hotel. It was a very big wedding but the meal was served very promptly and hot. The turkey and ham was delicious as were the desert, staff worked hard but was very friendly. It was my first wedding here and credit has to be given to all involved.
I stayed for the weekend as part of a car club and was very impressed by this excellent hotel. On my arrival the room was ready and I had a lovely meal of vegetable tikka masala which arrived quickly and was super tasty. Rooms are big, clean and in a good state of repair. I did not get the chance to try the swimming pool but the bar and restaurant area were very good with music at night. Overall I would recommend this hotel. It is not centrally located but that does mean that it is quiet at night. You could walk or get a taxi to the town centre.
This was our second time to stay and it as equally as good as the first. Nice food, great size rooms, really nice spa but the best thing about this hotel is the staff. On both occasions small details and thoughtful touches made our family feel so special. David looked after us so well and remembered us from our trip there last year! He, as well as Michaela and Denise went above and beyond to look after us and we are so grateful. I would highly recommed for a family event or group get together as they are so willing to facilitate guests requests where possible.
What an excellent hotel and stay. We were visiting for a wedding and the staff throughout the day were outstanding. The food, service and attention to detail - fantastic. Roast beef and salmon delicious and seconds for all. Impressive throughout.
Nice place but asked for starter as main and the gave us double portion and charged us double they were nice but too much and too expensive. Place very empty with very few customers yet ad to keep finding staff to assist. Not sure what is going on
Stayed here recently 2a and 2c. Check in was quick and efficient. The receptionist though wasn't a bit welcoming or friendly. She basically just gave me our key. I asked about the kids club and her reply was 6-9pm. I then had to ask where it does be on and again her only reply was Leisure centre. Not a good first impression of the hotel. Our room though was lovely and spacious and clean. Suited our needs fine. We had dinner in the hotel early so the kids could go to the club. The staff in the bar were all much more friendly and the food was nice. I will say though the bar area is set up more like a restaurant and in fact is part of the restaurant itself. While it's fine for eating it really doesn't make for a nice atmosphere to just sit and have a drink in. Both evenings we opted to sit in the lobby itself. One of the reasons I picked to stay here was because of the kids club. It says on their website that they cater for all kids up to young teens. Says they do arts and crafts, movies, discos etc. My kids are 9 and 11 so thought it would suit them. We arrived at the club just after 6pm to basically an empty room. There was a small dolls house and some gym style mats. One of the girls running it was gone to get some stuff so the kids said they'd stay. I went back 20min later and basically the girl had gotten some paints and paper. That was it. My kids who normally beg to stay in kids clubs, begged to leave. It was bar far the worst I'd ever seen. As a result even though there was loads of kids staying in the hotel only about 2 really young kids stayed in the club. That speaks volumes. We asked what the plan for the next day was and were told it was the same. Just painting. We didn't bother going near it again. Breakfast both mornings was just OK. Nothing special. Edible but not fantastic. At check out the receptionist just said thanks when I gave back the key. Didn't ask if we had a nice stay our anything. Overall the hotel was ok and I'd stay again if I needed too but wouldn't be rushing to do so. It needs some major investment in the kids club if they are going to keep advertising it and they should invest in the bar area and maybe add some music etc. …
Enjoyed our stay here even though the hotel is a bit old. It did have everything we needed and breakfast was included for only 75 euros a night. Buffet breakfast was quite good. It’s only about two miles to city center and there are nice farms close by with lots of horses. The staff were very friendly and we were able to check out at 2 pm - we just asked. Gas station is a short walking distance and a few grocery stores and shops within 3 miles.
Great experience at the spa, relaxation room was lovely to unwind before and after our treatments. Sabrina and Niamh were very accommodating, friendly and knew what areas needed some extra attention to relieve tension. I feel the treatments are very well priced, midweek packages are very good value! We were delighted with the experience and will definitely be back!
There is nothing I could fault from our stay here. We travelled with 3 small children which can be testing in itself. Room had ample space for us all, comfortable cot also in the room with an additional mattress in it ( very thoughtful as the ones they come with can be quite hard) food is fantastic and caters for all age groups. All staff, reception, restaurant and leisure centre extremely helpful and friendly. And added bonus of a kids club where each time I checked our children were being engaged with and extremely happy. Will definitely return here and am so very happy we chose to stay here.
