The Talbot Lodge is tucked away off the beaten track to Belmullet. Ideal if you want to get away from it all. The High Chaparral pub is next door so it could be described as the Wild West. To be fair the staff were very pleasant and the room was spacious and very comfortable and reasonably priced at 65 Euro B&B. Breakfast food was good but it's fend for yourself. Bar was pleasant at night but proved difficult to get table on Sunday evening as a resident. Did manage to squeeze on to end of bar and when food came it was good. Two very comfortable nights in four poster. Good bathroom and shower. Would stay again and recommend. Safe parking.

Thank you Rob for your review, I enjoyed your comment about the wild west, we're wild in a good way thankfully. Yes it is peaceful but also very beautiful in this coastal area, I can only imagine how nice it is to see it on a bike. Sorry we could not get you a table straight away but we're delighted you enjoyed the food and room. We would love to have you back and thank you for spreading the good word.

We arrived late Friday, after a quick call in advance we had a fantastic salmon salad waiting for us, thanks to the amazing Hughie. The staff are this hotels greatest asset! You sure have picked the best! Breakfast was flexible and fantastic! I had boxty and poached eggs, exactly like my grandmother used to make! The room was comfortable and clean, fluffy towels and cozy duvet with the four poster bed.... Perfect! To be honest, we thought we were booking the Talbot hotel in belmullet, it is a little misleading, but it turned out to be a wonderful mistake! Dinner was terrific... Steak to die for and a massive bowl of crab claws. We were well entertained by Martin who sings in the best mayo accent but speaks with a French one ! Our lasting memory are the people who work at the Talbot lodge, Sharon, hughie, Martin, Matthew, ciara, and a few I don't remember their names.... They made us feel like family coming home!

Thank you for your fantastic review, We are gifted with the staff, some of whom have been with us for years and know what we want which is happy guests and happy staff. All the staff are local and appreciate having jobs on there doorstep, they care and want the place to be a success. Not only that but they are brought up to treat people like they would like to be treated ...not a bad way to be if you are in the hospitality industry. Thank you for naming them all they will really appreciate it and so do I. WELL DONE ALL AT THE LODGE !!! Orla

We had our Wedding in The Talbot Lodge Geesala on September 9th and we want to say a big thank you to Tommy, Orla, Sharon and all the team. We had a fantastic day and you couldn't have done anymore for us and our guests. Everything from the service, food and staff were excellent, you exceeded all of our expectations and really made our day/weekend. The hotel is the perfect location for weddings in Connaught and you should be very proud of what you do. Barbara & Alan Burke.

Thank you Barbara and Alan for trusting us with your Wedding, It meant a lot to us all at the lodge. I know the guests really enjoyed it, but it also caused great excitement within the staff who gave it there all. It is a beautiful venue and it was great to see Geesala buzzing and looking so good. We want to share in your thanks to Sharon who ran the show and was a true professional, along with Orla, Jason and the kitchen team, Hughie, Marty and all the servers for making it a great night. But it would not have happened without your faith in us, you saw the hotel before it was renovated and before we had the full team in place, you saw what it could be...we are so happy it all paid off for you and wish you both a long future filled with happiness.

Even if you are not staying, make sure to take advantage of some of the beautiful and plentiful good on offer! We stayed for over a week and made a good attempt at working our way through the menu- lovely home cooked food of the highest and freshest quality served by friendly, helpful and well presented staff. Breakfast times were flexible and a real highlight was the fresh scones each morning. Portions were again plenty but could be reduced to exactly what you want. Bed was comfortable and sheets changed regularly with lovely fluffy towels and plenty complimentary toiletries and lots of teas and coffees. Curtains were good and thick and keep the heat and light out. Decor and bathrooms could be more finished to a higher standard, but everything else I've mentioned far outweighs that! We will most certainly be back!

Thank you for your review, We have a great team of local staff who really care and want to see the lodge prosper, it is one of the few local employers and means a lot to us all. I am therefore delighted the team really made your stay enjoyable. We are currently working on the rooms and won't stop until we are happy with the decor. We were under immense time pressure to get them done initially and the common areas needed urgent attention also.Thankfully that is mostly complete. So hopefully by the time you return we will have all areas fully renovated. Well done to the kitchen team who put up some great food. Thank you again for your comments the team appreciate them.
