Detailed Reviews
Our arrival at Quidnalegan House was at the end of a long day but Breege welcomed us with warmth and generous understanding of our multiple calls in trying to locate her home. It isn't hard to find if you just plug in the Eircode, the significance of which we didn't fully understand at the time Breege had supplied the code to us but our emails had some trouble catching us up. The house is lovely and Breege's attention to detail for her guests comfort are evident throughout the house. Our room was spacious with a comfy bed and well appointed bathroom. Breakfast offered several options and were delicious. If you find yourself in Ballina, have a stay with Breege, she's lovely.

Just a quick one night stay for work but reminds me of why i prefer to stay in small family run accomodation. The warm welcome, no hassle check in, spotless room but most of all the idea that nothing is too much trouble makes it a much more personable experience. Breege is a wonderful host and the breakfast, made to order, was excellent. Ballina town centre is five minutes away, whats not to like !!

This elegant house just outside Ballina is a comfortable and reasonable place to spend a night. Breege is a very smiley welcoming hostess and nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfy with everything we could want, and an excellent power shower to add to it. Breakfast was very varied, almost anything you could think of, and nothing was too much trouble. The house is spacious and spotlessly clean with a lovely garden and ample parking. Easy to find, and close to town for eating and shopping. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. We stayed here for the weekend. There is a huge parking area to the rear of the house. We had a beautiful en-suite room. Very comfortable bed and lovely en-suite with a shower. It is a really quiet location, and we slept really well. Breakfast was really good. There was a good selection of cereals, fresh fruit, and a beautiful breakfast to follow. Breege was the perfect host. There if you needed her, but not in any way intrusive. During a casual chat over breakfast, Breege gave us lots of touring options for the day. Our ideal bed and breakfast. We will definitely stay here again and are looking forward to a return visit. Fabulous.

We stayed only one night at this guest house on a flying visit, yet it left a lasting impression due to the very warmest of welcomes we received. Hosts John and Breege are just great and they could not have done more for us, in fact, they went above and beyond to help us with a couple of things we needed to sort when we were in Ireland. The house is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Be prepared to drool as Breege is a top notch baker and the wafts of home baked wheaten bread and scones etc will definitely get your attention! As for breakfast - well, it was fab and plenty of choice and quantity! They have thoughtfully provided information on things to do etc.
The house is on the edge of the town, which is nice as it is really quiet. Loads of room for car parking in their private ground to the rear of the house.
We would definitely stay there again and have no trouble recommending it to others.

We booked this B&B through gulliver.ie, and chose it mainly for the good value and the location in North Mayo.
The hosts were friendly and helpful. The bedroom quiet and quite comfortable, with a small but clean en-suite.
Breakfast features the "full-Irish" and a choice of cereal, yoghurts, cheese and fruit, which I had both mornings, and which was OK but didn't leave me particularly impressed. Most foods were of discount store provenance and it showed.
The B&B is about 6 Km from Ballina town, but there is a pub serving food on the Sligo road (about 5 mins drive) for those who do not want to go all the way into town.
Overall, a good value B&B in the Ballina area, and a good base for exploring North Mayo.

We stayed a night during our one-week round trip on the northern half of the Irish island and therefore, most B&B's were only places for sleep and then take off again. Breege and her nice comfortable house stayed in mind not only for the large room and great breakfast (pictures don't lie), but also for her special friedlyness as she sends me my forgotten watch to Germany.

I was quite happy with my choice to stay here. It's not walking distance to anything, which could be a downside if you like going to pubs, for instance, but for a traveler with car wanting quiet, it's perfect. It's on a main road just a couple of miles outside Ballina, easy to find, but I heard no traffic noise. I arrived at same moment as a party of 4, but Breege greeted me by name and juggled us with grace. She kindly placed a phone call for me as my phone wasn't working, and gave clear directions to the 2 restaurants open in town on the Good Friday when I arrived. The room and ensuite bath was spotless, simple, and comfortable, some might think small but I thought it was just fine. Of several hot breakfast choices I think I had scrambled eggs, scones, fresh fruit. Photos of the couple and their children in breakfast room and lounge gave the place a very homey touch, as contrasted with the hostels I'd been staying in, and I was impressed by the little stack of Thank You cards from previous guests. The house seems neither brand-new nor ancient, but is very well-maintained and has a simple and charming ambience.

I may not be able to pronounce the name of the place *laugh* but Breege made us feel very welcome in this wonderfully appointed and comfortable B&B. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed including a bunch of information on things to do in the area. After welcoming and getting us settled Breege gave us a recommendation to a very nice pub/restaurant just down the road. Morning Breakfast was deliciously prepared with a fine selection of Irish breakfast favorites. The house is conveniently located and is a great base for the exploration of Ireland's often overlooked Northwest. Nearby Sligo and Donegal are wonderful places to experience the traditional Irish fishing based culture of the northwest where Irish Gaelic is still the primary language. I hope to be able to return here and spend more time.
