Just back from 4 nights at this hotel. Accommodation good for price. Clean hotel. Meals brilliant. Staff very friendly. Would return to this hotel tomorrow even though a long journey from Scotland, but we'll worth it!

Home yesterday from our first holiday with David Urquhart Coach Holiday and stayed at Downhill Inn. After reading several poor reviews on TripAdvisor - I really didn't know what to expect but I can honestly say that I was most impressed with this Hotel. The reception and seating areas were done very tastefully and comfortable. Bedroom was large, clean, well...

We stayed at this hotel for two nights recently and this was the most decrepit hotel of our trip, being shabby and well run down. There was minimum young staff trying to run everything. All the food seemed to have come straight from the freezer and was tasteless. The breakfast we received was the minimum type of English traditional breakfast. Other...

We stayed one night due to poor planning on our part. The hotel reminded me of a hotel from the 70's. Dated, dusty and mold in the bathroom. Front desk staff nice. The TV was as small as the monitors on airplanes. The breakfast offered was limited and strictly followed. This hotel services tour buses and groups on a fixed...

This was my third stay at the Downhill Inn as I have family living nearby. The first time I visited was in 2009 and the hotel seemed in good shape. Unfortunately the last 2 visits have confirmed that the Downhill Inn is extremely run down and in desperate need of restoration. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. However, the...

We booked this hotel for two nights over the weekend for a funeral, as there was no other rooms available in the area. When we arrived on Saturday afternoon, we received a mediocre welcome in a stale smelling reception area. the smell is all over the hotel. The room was dated, dirty and freezing. There was dust and cobwebs everywhere...
