Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A most wonderful and delightful location to spend time at just outside Ballina, Co. Mayo Ireland. Situated in verdant park land, it was delightful to be taken care of by magnificent staff. Old country house coupled with great good, wines and service.

There is NO restaurant! The much ballyhooed and much photographed restaurant is closed. The only dining is in a wedding tent set up on the lawn. The big feature is a pizza oven!!! We took cabs into town for dinner. The bar — also much photographed — is also closed! Actually it’s locked up. You can’t even peek in. The whole hotel seemed deserted and understaffed, nothing like its website or advertising. So skip this place and go to one of the many other lovely country houses in Ireland.

Positives first- the massage itself that I had was really good. We actually booked the Neom happiness package which included a “scrub” but turns out the brochure we accessed through their website was old and we got something completely different (not a problem as I enjoyed it). Super relaxing, I dozed off, and felt great afterwards. The pool is really nice and there’s lots of natural light and gorgeous views from the pool. Onto the not so positives- the spa facilities are really poor. The jacuzzi beside the pool is ancient and when the bubbles aren’t on, you can see the brown stained base. The changing rooms are absolutely disgusting and looked like they hadn’t ever been cleaned- my local leisure centre changing rooms are cleaner. The showers don’t work (they spray everywhere) and there was no body wash. There was tissue everywhere, overflowing bins, nowhere to put used towels after a treatment, and there was a dumbell propping the door open. We weren’t given slippers or robes on arrival (30 mins before treatment) and were told they’d be given to us later.. absolutely bizarre.. My locker actually had a new robe in it but my partner had to just sit beside the pool and wait. While I was getting ready for my massage, I could see the floor of the treatment room was also dirty.. so disappointing and offputting. Overall, bad service, overpriced, and in need of a good clean.

Just returned from an amazing night in Mount Falcon. We got married in Mount Falcon and as it was our anniversary we booked in to relive the big day! We were treated so well from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. It truly is a very special place. The old world charm makes you feel like you have escaped to a magical place. Would highly recommend a visit. The dinner we had in the tent was outstanding and the music just added so much to the ambience. Staff are all amazing, so friendly and professional. Ten out of ten, will most certainly be returning for our anniversary next year and cannot wait!

Wait staff were excellent, professional and friendly, 100%. The main course was also excellent, very tasty and well presented. The desserts were poor, the 'homemade' meringue was a tough as a rock and poorly presented. The maitre d' informed us that the menu stated 'homemade', not fresh. Well indeed he was very right! it was far from fresh. Mount Falcon is beautiful and does most things very well. Just needs to work on the small things.

Just back from an overnight in Mount Falcon. We were lucky to have received an upgrade to a suite which was the icing on cake. From an hour in the pool, jacuzzi, etc. to an excellent dinner in the Marquee, the overall experience was relaxing & entirely enjoyable. This was topped off by music during and after dinner. The back ground music was excellent as we could continue conversation while still enjoying the performance. Looking forward to getting back sometime soon & would highly recommend.

Nice place unless you want to sleep on a Saturday. Dining is in an outdoor tent and on Saturdays music goes until midnight. Meaning no sleep until midnight especially if you are on the wrong side of the hotel. One bad night completely destroyed any good from the rest of my stay

Over the years, I’ve stayed in Mount Falcon numerous times and it’s a place I had such happy memories about and a perception of high quality / excellent customer service. Unfortunately, in my opinion those standards have significantly slipped specifically for their dining. The once fabulous restaurant is now a permanent marquee on the front lawn. I want to share my recent experience of lunch and dinner at Mount Falcon: Lunch: myself and my pregnant wife decided we would share 3 starters. About 10 minutes after our order was taken, we were informed that there was no a la carte menu for Sunday lunch and that we will be charged the full €35 per person for our 3 starters (and that we could possibly select an additional desert of our choice). Nobody explained the menu to us - and waitress confirmed it was ok to order numerous starters. After a few minutes of back and forth with the manager, he advised us he would charge us €35 (plus a bit extra) and we would get the desert later on with dinner. My wife also ordered a non alcoholic Prosecco with her lunch that never arrived. I will give credit where credit is due and the dishes we ordered were delicious - calamari, crab claws and wings. Dinner: my pregnant wife ordered a pizza with 3 toppings and asked for a blue cheese dip on the side. The pizza came out and she was advised that the blue cheese was unfortunately included within the base of the pizza and not on the side. As it turned out, the blue cheese was actually shredded and put on the pizza by the chef. The manager came down and advised that a new pizza would be made. 20 minutes later, the manager came down with the newly cooked pizza and on the side was 2 blocks of blue cheese and no blue cheese dip to be seen. I genuinely thought he was trying to be funny but unfortunately he wasn’t .. third time of asking they got it right. This was extremely frustrating as by this stage, my dinner was already eaten. I ordered the burger which I didn’t enjoy given the experience. To further carry on from from our previous lunch experience, we found out that there is no non alcoholic Prosecco served at Mount Falcon and that all of the starter items we ordered for lunch are actually individually priced on the Dinner Menu. The dining experience here ruined our stay, we won’t be back. Would recommend anyone staying in the Hotel to head into Ballina for food .. much better value for money and better customer service.

The setting of this hotel is absolutely stunning. There is a beautiful sweeping drive up to the hotel and the grounds are well-maintained with a lovely lake to walk around. The staff in the spa are friendly and welcoming and the pool is small but well-heated and very relaxing. The only thing I would say to improve is to cater better for vegetarian guests.
