Stayed in the hotel recently for a wedding in a different venue. Bedroom was awful ... broken drawer on main counter unit, bed mattress had a dip in the middle of it and was badly dressed (staff changed mattress after complaining) and the bathroom tap and counter top had lots of stains on them. After requesting for a change of room - to be told that it wasn't possible as they were booked up for the night - which was understandable - the receptionist could be overheard (by another member of our group) having a 'conversation' about us and 'who do they think they are'. She was more interested in entertaining her friend who was sitting in reception with her child on her lap which in my opinion, was very unprofessional. The corridors are narrow and if like us, you end up a long way from reception, you'll find yourself going through lots of single doors and having the pleasure of a musty, damp smell along the way, including in the lift! We had two rooms booked for two nights but checked out after the first one and we won't be returning any time soon - in fact... Never!…
I recently had my son's confirmation in the hotel. The food was excellent. Lovely tables with a view of the river. All the staff were excellent so friendly & nice. The manager was lovely . Looking forward to more family occasions there . Thank you ☺️
If you are looking for a modern hotel then maybe look for something else. This hotel is filled with carpets, chairs and curtains. The decor is tired but all clean and well kept. It's like 'why fix something when it's not broke'. And nothing is broke. The rooms were clean and warm, so warm we had to turn the heating off and open the windows fully. They have hairdryer tv and tea/coffee in the rooms. Extra pillow in the wardrobe and also am iron and ironing board. When was the last time you were given a key instead of a key card. I loved it. Breakfast is served in a beautiful light breakfast room. There is a choice and you are tended to by lovely polite and helpful staff. It makes a change from queuing up foe your breakfast in a buffet style. Reception staff were helpful and nice. Hotel closes its doors around 12 midnight and you gain access hereafter by calling the night porter to let you in..... might be a pain, but with its town location its definitely a good idea as anyone could walk in and out. We had a river view and it was nice to see the fishermen in the river. Parking is available but is limited.... we were lucky and got a spot, but 24 hour parking in an overflow carpark is very reasonable. If you want to explore Ballina town then this si the perfect spot for you. We will definitely return.…
This is the second time we have stayed at the Ballina Manor hotel. I highly recommend it. Very clean, food delicious and very attentive staff. Based in the centre of town, overlooking the River Moy. Parking on site.
Quaint hotel on the River Moy in the heart of Ballina; the staff are friendly and helpful, the food is good, and our room was spacious. Guests are made to feel very welcome, and staff go out of their way to make sure their guests are comfortable and well taken care of.
I've stayed in Ballina Manor before, Oct '21 for my brother's wedding. It was a brief stay as we arrived late and left early. My children really enjoyed it so I decided to book again so we could savour it the second time around. I rang up to book the Presidential suite as that's where we stayed before. The people in reservations were accommodating and understanding as we had to switch dates. The whole trip was planned around when the suite was available. When we arrived, check in was fine, we went upstairs to our room. It was not the room we reserved. I thought there had been a mistake so I went back down to reception. There was no mistake, the only explanation I received was that the room was unavailable. This had not been mentioned at check-in or during the phone call I received the day before, I would have ré-scheduled if the room hadn't been available. I expressed my dissatisfaction at the time and again at check out. I was reassured that a manager would ring after 3 - they did not. I rang again the following Sunday and was told a manager would ring on Wednesday, they did not. I emailed them - no reply. So I am writing this review to express my disgust with the bad management at this hotel. In addition, the hotel smelt badly of damp, a screen beside the lift tried to hide dry wall which had fallen down due to damp. Overall the experience was a complete disappointment and we won't ever be returning.…
We have just checked out from a last minute one night trip that we booked over the phone with Ciara. When we arrived Ciara checked us in she was just lovely and gave us all the information about dinner and breakfast. We were given room 400 on the fourth floor. It's right beside the lift so very convenient. It's a big room looking over the front of the hotel. It's was nice and warm and had a beautiful bathroom with shower and roll top bath. It was a quiet room. Dinner was really nice that evening and the staff were lovely. Breakfast the next morning is table service. The staff were very friendly and we're asking if we need anything. The hotel is walking distance to the shops and has car parking underneath. We have stayed here before and will definitely be back soon. Thank you Ciara and all the staff. …
Ballina, a lovely little town, the Manor was our choice for a visit to our daughters new home, her first dinner party. Check in smooth no problems, the journey to the room yes journey and that through long bad smelling coridors. the room clean & worm, the view out onto the river Moy. beautiful, the staff (with the eception of one) very good. at our dinner party in my daughters new home I recieved a call from reception to inform me that my bank card had been declined, the embarrisment, the problem was on the hotels end and nothing to do with me at all. the next evening I was verbally attacked by an employee (Karl) he tried to humiliate and chide me in the presense of other customers. I emailed (Edel) on Monday 23rd as of today Thursday the 27th not as much as an acknowledgement of my email or complaint. it appears this is a tactic used by them as you will read in other reviews.…
Booked a 2 night stay in the ballina Manor Hotel I highly recommend this Hotel. The management should be very proud of the staff, they are so friendly and the main aim is to make sure the customer is happy.
I think there were some positives about staying in the hotel it was clean, the bed was comfortable, it was within walking distance of everything and the food was nice. However for us the negatives just simply outweighed the positives. We were disappointed that when we booked dinner in the bar expecting it to be shambles bar as advertised online it was not it was a little nook beside the restaurant which I wouldn't really describe as a bar at all. The TV there was very small and the signal very poor (which of course I don't hold the hotel responsible for). When I said I thought there was a mistake that we were suppose to be in the bar for dinner assuming shambles I was told shambles had been closed for years. This really didn't suit a couple who love sport and wanted to watch a game. The drink selection on draft was poor, no coors or merettie. The bottle of wine we then ordered the incorrect one was given to us. Even though I had booked to eat in the "bar" they were not ready for us at the time of the booking and the table was never set once we arrived we were just provided with cutlery as food arrived. The soup arrived without bread and we had to ask for that too. The food was delicious though we probably would return for a bite to eat. There was an error with our bill. We were with friends so I instructed them that they could go ahead that I would sort it. After 20 minutes the bill was sorted. I asked numerous times that this was correct as our friends were treating us and they were not staying in the hotel. There.was no card in the room to order room service so I had to ask reception for a menu (no issue). I wrote on the back of it what we wanted and left it back at reception the night before. The morning off we woke up earlier than expected so I suggested that I call down and say we were ready when they were. The hotel room phone was not working so I used my mobile to ring the hotels main line to request food (no issue). The room service came and it just was not sharp. There were two hotel staff delivering breakfast. They joked and laughed the whole time while my partner stood like a good employee holding the door for them and not everything we ordered we provided. At check out I was told there was a problem with my bill last night for dinner (at this time expecting an apology) and that a further error was made and I now had not paid enough after staying in the restaurant for 30 minutes the night previously trying to rectify the bill. I was told that they tried to contact me "numerous" times on the room phone. I explained that after the meal we had gone out for the evening 1 and 2 the phone was not working. The manager queried whether anyone checked I was telling the truth and that the room phone was working (a manager who was not even on site for this conversation) at which point I simply had enough and stated that she could go up and check, that I called reception off my mobile this morning to order room service and if they were trying to contact me " all night" and not getting an answer why didn't they simply call my mobile. The experience was disappointing and quite embarrassing and it is very unlikely that we would stay again.…
