Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great location and really lovely rooms, Friendly staff. The reception areas are beautiful, relaxing and very welcoming. We only took breakfasts in the hotel and although the services was amazing, the food itself was somewhat disappointing, we had to send it back as was cold and the orders were a little mixed up.

I had the pleasure of staying 3 nights in Ballina Manor...a home from home where there was a warm welcome in the foyer, a crackling fire, comfy couches, a splendid Christmas Tree in the corner and a welcome smile at reception. The staff are warm, friendly, and attentive and look after guests with professional ease. The room overlooking the Moy was perfect, comfortable, spacious, spotless and quiet. The dining room overlooking the Moy is a relaxing space to dine with a fine menu of great food. There are lots of cosy nooks to sit and chat or read on different levels. The dining and bar staff were to be commended for their care of the guests on this exceptionally busy weekend...all smiles and warmth. A very well managed hotel. Do visit!

Stayed here for a weekend of theatre at the nearby Arts centre and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The hotel is perfectly located in the centre of town and on the river, within easy walking distance of all amenities. We received a call from a very friendly member of hotel staff a few days before arrival to book breakfast times and query if we needed dinner and also offer express checkin. On arrival we were greeted by pleasant & helpful reception staff and this set the tone for the weekend, where every staff member we encountered was professional, friendly and very helpful. The breakfast choice was good & food arrived promptly and tasted great. We only ate here on Sunday night & the set menu was perfect. The icing on the cake was that we managed to get parking in the underground car park, making life very easy. The hotel has lots of nooks to sit and relax or catch up with friends and the room was spacious and clean.

Was very worried about staying at this hotel after reading the terrible reviews but we shouldn’t have worried. We had no complaints about this hotel. Lovely old hotel right on the river in Ballina. Yes it is a little bit dated and tired but it’s a lovely hotel. Our room was very big and overlooking the river which we requested. The bed was super comfortable and we had no noise to disturb us in the night. The shower was really good. Housekeeping came in each day to service the room. All the staff are really friendly and helpful. They were short staffed so were doing all the jobs between them but were still happy and friendly. The food at breakfast was very tasty and plenty of it. Served each morning to your table so no getting up for anything. The fire alarm went off one morning at 6.45 but soon stopped. Apparently it was in the kitchen and a bit of a false alarm but even so you can’t complain. If there had have been a real fire at least you’d be aware and able to exit the hotel. Apologies were made at breakfast but to me it wasn’t a problem. Can’t be helped. We just went back to bed. All in all a great stay and would definitely stay again if ever we returned to Ballina.

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst fishing on the River Moy. The staff made this stay. Central location, right on the Moy, good choices for food and fun had by all on the trip. We asked for items not on the menu and the staff were more than pleasant and accommodating. The only thing they couldn’t help with was getting the salmon to bite!

Enjoyed 3 days at the Manor with my brothers and nephew on a fishing trip. Great location surrounded by lovely pubs. Pat Rouses pub is a great pub, beautifully presented and we had a lovely time there. Our complements to the restaurant staff who were friendly and most efficient. Food was excellent. Nothing was a problem. Our bedrooms were exceptionally clean. Car parking was just steps away from the exit door. Water levels were exceptionally low so fishing take was zero. It was a great bonding trip for us all. We will be back.

Recently was on a Globus tour in Ireland. This hotel was the only one of the hotels on the trip that was a disappointment. What a cluster it would be if you had to get out in a hurry. What a fire trap! It was also fairly dirty. Food was a disappointment as well both for dinner and the breakfast. I am guessing that Globus has listened to compliments about this hotel (and there were many from members of the tour group) because this same tour for next year has a different hotel and will no longer use the Ballina Manor Hotel.
