Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I organised my sister's hen party for 16 of us, Harry and Bridget welcomed us and showed us to our rooms on the Friday night. The lodge was spotless and very welcoming. They offered tea and coffee and to order and collect a Chinese takeaway. They lit the turf fire and made the lodge so homely for us. On the second night we went to the Murder Mystery game which was great craic, one of the party arrived late and Harry went out of his way and gave her a lift to the hotel. They organised the communal area so we could have a drinks reception for the hen and also set up the karaoke machine for us for after the night club. The breakfast was delicious and catered for everyone's needs including celiacs and vegetarians. On the Sunday they gave us directions for walks. I cannot thank them enough for facilitating the hen party and looking after us so so well. I would recommend the lodge to family and friends for any get away holiday. It is worth a trip to Mayo just to stay with Bridget and Harry.

We stayed in the Railway cottages for a family Easter break. We found the cottage extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean,a real home from home. It was an excellent base to explore the area. We had breakfast at the main house Foxford Lodge which was without doubt amongst the best we have ever had with home made bread and scones fresh from the oven each morning and looked after really well by Harry & Brigid. Could not recommend highly enough.

(Nov, 2011) We arrived to a very friendly greeting by Carol, and were brought down the road to the superbly equiped house. It had everything we could need, it was spotlessly clean and warm. We went down to the main house on the following three mornings and were looked after by Bridget who served us a lovely breakfast, perfectly cooked. It was the perfect location from which to explore Mayo. All I can say is that everything was perfect, perfect and perfect again. I just didn't want to come home and will definately go again. Would highly recommend. Thanks to Bridget and Harry, the perfect hosts.

We had a very nice stay at Foxford Lodge. We came mainly for a fly fishing lesson. Harry was extremely knowledgeable about fishing as well as the area. The house was very nice and clean and the breakfast was exceptional. I would definitely recommend the accommodation, fishing lessons and warm, welcoming hosts.

Having just returned from a weekend spent at Foxford with a party of 14 friends for the murder mystery weekend, memories and laughs were had by all! We arrived on the Friday evening to be met by Harry the owner who showed us to our lovely clean and comfortable rooms and then instructed us on how to use the karoke machine! A great addition to the weekend I might add! This was followed by a wonderful chinese meal at the lodge to build up our singing power!! Breakfast in the morn was more than adequate and all freshly cooked to order. We then participated in the murder game that evening with transfers all arranged and a 4-course meal included as part of the package. Costume hire was also arranged. We were there for a hen party and if you want something different which will include and appeal to all age groups, then this is the ticket. Hospitality, craic and good service at its best! Enjoy!

Upon being met by the very helpful Julie , my family and friends and i were led to a exquisitely well decorated lodge , with ample room for everybody , we were assigned our bedrooms for our 2 night stay . We were then introduced to the charming Harry and his lovely wife Bridget and kindly welcomed into their home as part of their family. We chose this location for a Hen Weekend with a twist and we were plesently suprised ??? Yes , of course . The rooms were both spacious and warm , a comfort away from home sprang to mind , lol even breakfast was a treat . Would i come again? , yes even just for a chance to relax with my Husband . Keep up the good work you guys !!!

My wife and I spent just two days at the Foxford Lodge, unfortunately it was not long enough. The second we walked through the door Harry greeted us as though we were old friends, their relaxed manner makes you feel at home right away. The food was excellent, the decor was superb and the scenery beautiful, a perfect location for exploring the Mayo area.
We hope to get another trip accross soon. (if only to get more of Bridget's cakes)
Many thanks Harry and Bridget
