Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just home today from another stay with Fiona at The Fairview House B & B
Just as lovely as the first time last year. Room is beautiful, clean and comfortable. Bathroom huge with a jacuzzi and large powerful shower. Fiona can't do enough for you nothing is too much trouble. Really appreciate her getting up at silly o clock to make sure we had a fabulous Irish breakfast before our very early departure.
If you are staying in Belmullet you must stay here. Amazing value. Amazing place and lovely staff.
We wouldn't stay anywhere else. See you next time Fiona.

From the moment we arrived we were treated very well. we were made to feel very welcome and the rooms were faultless. The owner is very polite and kind with nothing being to much trouble. the food was fantastic and she was always checking everything was as we wanted it. her dog "Ted" kept us amused for ages. The views were beautiful and we enjoyed some local walks. We would stay here again without a doubt.

My Husband & I stayed in Fairview House B&B on August 9th 2014.
This house looks like any average size bungalow but when we went inside we were so surprised to see really big rooms that were beautifully decorated. A lady called Fiona greeted us with a warm welcome and asked us if we would like tea & sandwiches. We got a really big bright and spotlessly clean bedroom, with an en- suite that had a big shower area
We had a really nice breakfast and I noticed that even the cutlery was of a high standard.
This is no ordinary B&B.
We would highly recommend it to anyone. Thank you Fiona for making us so welcome.

I had a three day whistle stop tour of the area and thankfully chose Fairview House as my base. I enjoyed a very welcoming stay and a very delicious and filling full Irish breakfast every morning that set me up for the day indeed. My mission was to attempt to find any relatives in the area, little did I know that the owner Kevin was to set my on my path to discovery by imparting some extremely helpful information on the first day.
The rest is history the book 'Amongst our own' - The Inniskeas by Tomas Ban O'Raghallaigh will tell the story of all these family's.
The surrounding landscapes are breathtaking, indeed the view from the dining room of the islands is beautiful. Parking is plentiful and safe. Tea and coffee are available at all times in the lounge. TV in the room, spacious ensuite and fresh towels, thank you for a very enjoyable stay! I will be back.

well contacted this B&B regarding over night stay, sounded very nice on phone but arrived there on Sat morning, was shown our room and given our key. and told there would be heater left running in room for to heat it, we were ok with that.
Told owner on that day when she asked about breakfast that I told her No egg and was wheat and gluten allergen, the lady said she was going shopping and she would look for gluten free bread, I was happy with that, but arrived down for breakfast next morning to be handed fry with sausage egg pudding rasher on it no word of gluten or wheat, when I said to girl serving she took plate away and arrived back this time with 2 eggs and 2 rashers on plate which I again said I dont want eggs. At this point the lady that met us and took all details day before arrived, and way she spoke to me with a loud tone she just said What do you want on your plate ?? no apologies, and there were just four other people at one table beside us , so another plate came with rasher sausage pudding so I just eat two rashers as there would be gluten in rest.I was really annoyed as I know from dealing with food and H&S this should not happen. No bread was got or no mention or even apologie for what happened.
Room and bed was clean, but breakfast ruined it, but the way it was dealt with brought me to this point. and we were charged €75 which we had no issue with.
Certainly not going back

My wife and I recently attended a christening in Belmullet. The hotels and a few b&bs we called were fully booked. So we took a chance to drive there and scout about. Just as we entered the town limits we saw the sign for fairview house. We called and Fiona said there was a room available and the rate was very reasonable. When we arrived we were first greeted by Ted, their dog. Ended playing ball with him a while before going to the door and meeting Fiona.
She showed us to our room and then the sitting room across the hall. By the time I took in the bags she had tea and cake waiting for us which was most welcome after our trip.
Our bedroom was amazing, better than some hotels I have stayed in. There was a large double bed and single in the room along with a large smart TV. I could have easily booked another night just to binge on Netflix :) sadly I only managed 2 episodes.
The bathroom had a power shower along with a large Jacuzzi bath which my wife would have booked a second for alone!

The hotel where we were meeting friends was only a 5 min walk away. And the town itself is easily accessible.

If you are planning on visiting belmullet or attending a wedding there, I would recommend calling Fiona for availability as you won't find a better stay.

I stayed in Fiona's B and B for a wedding on the 27th of September. The wedding was in the broad haven bay and fully booked up . So by fluke we got a room in this B and B. How lucky we were. The B and B was 5 mins down the road from hotel so we didn't miss any of the craic. Highlight of the stay was the yummy scrambled eggs and freshly squeezed orange juice and the dog of course .

We stayed in Fairview while visiting our son in the Gaeltacht. Fiona was a wonderful host. We were offered sandwiches and had a delicious slice of carrot cake. The dog Ted was a big hit with our son and we even had a knock on the door to see of our son would lke to play gaelic with her son Fionnan. A real home from home. The decor was fabulous and the rooms very clean and comfortable. We wish we ould have stayed longer. Thanks Fiona, Fionnan and especially Ted!!

We attended a wedding in Belmullet recently at the Broadhaven Bay Hotel. Unfortunately at the time of booking the hotel was full and another friend of ours that was attending the wedding recommended Fairview House. It is very close to the hotel. We checked in shortly before the wedding reception and the host Fiona was very helpful and said that if we were having a late night not to worry about getting up to early for breakfast. Her husband offered to drive us to the hotel but we declined the offer. The room was clean and very spacious with a massive en suite. Fiona's husband served us a beautiful breakfast the next morning. Again he offered to take us to our car which was parked at the hotel. Although the hotel was close by, it was raining and this time we took him up on his offer. Later that morning we decided to stay another day in Erris and checked in again to Fairview House. Again the couple were more than helpful and suggested some places to go. We did not get to see all the recommendations but we will be back to Fairview to continue the sightseeing trips. Highly recommended.
