I decided at the last minute to head off for a few days on a photography trip to the Mullet Peninsula. Bru Chlann Lir is such a hidden gem and Josephine was so friendly and welcoming. The room was percect for a solo traveller, very comfortable bed, powerful shower and incredibly fast wifi. It is a great base for exploring. Breakfast was fantastic and kept me going for the whole day. And on Josephine's advice, I took the day trip to Iniskea Island, south. I would highly recommend Bru Chlann Lir, it cannot be beaten for comfort, friendliness and is a home from home And as for the Mullet Peninsula, I got some fantastic images, which I am still editing. I have travelled the length and breath of this island and tbought I had seen it all..but this place is stunning. A huge recommend.…
Bru Chlann Lir is a gorgeous B&B, located a comfortable distance from Belmullet and within viewing distance of the ocean. Our host Josephine went above and beyond in welcoming us and in providing local suggestions for hiking and resturants. Her home is spotless and the views are grand. Breakfast was rated delicious by the family. Don't miss the nearby golf course, be it for food or a round. The scenery in the area is beautiful beyond description and limitless. Views on the coastal overlooks are some of the best in Ireland. Our stay exceeded all expectations, and Josephine helped it all come together. We will definitely be back.
Fantastic experience. Room was spacious ,clean ,warm and was beautifully decorated . There was tea,& coffee and bottled water in the room.Josephine was very hospitable and very helpful. The breakfast was 5 stars - there were so many choices and all served beautifully. Felt as though we were really pampered. Will definately go back there for a longer period of time and explore the area.Highly recommend it to other travellers.
Just stayed and words only have to be few. Fantastic, warm, friendly and unbeatable 😀 Very warm arrival from Josephine. Local knowledge and top class hospitality all delivered with a smile and some Irish humour. Rooms great, breakfast more than great, nothing was too much trouble. When we go back, there will only be one place to stay for us. Top class in every department.. helped make our stay a memorable one. Thank you and best wishes from Tony, Angela and Anne.
I was part of a small tour and this little B&B was our 2nd night in on the tour. Josephine welcomed us, after we had been on the road all day. The room was spotless and comfortable. Breakfast had many choices, so were fed well, before heading out for another long day of looking for lighthouses.
If you intend to explore this stunningly beautiful part of Co. Mayo and want somewhere to stay, look no further. Centrally positioned, it’s near lots of wonderful beaches and strands, a shallow inland lake suitable for para-surfing, relatively car-free roads where cycling is an option when exploring and lots of walks, of course. The B&B is the best I’ve been in! The owner, Josephine is friendly, knowledgable about the surrounding area and eager to advise on places to visit, should you wish her to. The rooms are clean (of course) and a kettle/mugs means you can make tea/coffee in your room. Bottled water and wine glasses are also supplied! The breakfast was superb - a ‘full Irish’ was on offer, as well as smoked salmon and the usual fare BUT coeliacs and vegans are also catered for. Parking is no problem. We stayed two nights but had we known what a jewel this was, we would have stayed longer!…
Beautiful room . Spotless and I mean spotless . Delicious breakfast with many choices . Josephine the owner is so welcoming and helpful and friendly. Even gave us delicious scones upon arriving at 10 pm
Very warm and friendly welcome from Josephine with tea, coffee and scones. Extremely comfortable room and bed and a great breakfast. Even late night sandwiches when she realised we hadn't eaten. Very highly recommended.
I have stayed here twice while visiting my son and daughter at the local Irish College. Josephine is so welcoming and the house is lovely. We had a beautiful breakfast on both occasions. After a long drive on a Friday evening Josephine provided tea and scones which was really appreciated. Also offered to make my youngest daughter a hot chocolate. Beautiful part of the country. HIghly recommend this B&B.
Stayed one night recently when I was in area to collect my son from nearby Irish College .Arrived after long drive and was given tea and scones and a very warm welcome by Josephine.Lovely comfortable room with nice view, had a great sleep.Met other guests who were very complimentary to Josephine also. She advised me of a concert which was on locally which I attended and thoroughly enjoyed.I heard Irish spoken by locals attending concert .Breakfast was just perfect with nice freshly prepared fruit.Area is stunning and quite unspolit .It felt like they have got tourism just right here ,in particular the genuine warm welcome .
