I stayed there with a walking group last weekend. We all loved the place. Really clean and well organised hostel. Betty was a fabulous host and was so helpful. We ate there for all our meals (including dinner). Delicious food and really reasonable. Great location for exploring the area and excellent pub down the road. Highly recommended.

Kilcommon Lodge is a hostel / basic guestroom located near Belmullet. a couple of days spent here lets you escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Beware though this is a very rural area in large bogland so if visiting make sure you bring all food supplies you need for your stay unless you have a car to...

Kilcommon Lodge, came highly recommended by a former guest. Easy to book with Betty, on the Lodge's website. Of course, I missed the turn, asked for directions, & was sent the longer route to Kilcommon Lodge. On arrival, the surrounding grounds & gardens, are lovely, Betty, was out, I was assisted by one of the long term guests, a sense...

wow! what a beautiful location. Unlike others have mentioned, we had no difficulty in finding the hostel- but then we're natives. Travelling along the N59, a brown (Tourist & Leisure) sign, sent us up along the western & very picturesque side of Carrowmore lake. Coming to a crossroads, we missed the next sign, but knew we were in the right...

I brought 3 children with me aged 10,8 and 5. The hostel was booked out to accommodate an event and despite not knowing anyone else, there was a lovely open atmosphere. The common room was very relaxed and the boys even found a box of lego which kept them happy for a couple of hours. Another little girl made life...

The two of us had an excellent time here. Yes, the building is dated but it is very clean. The hostess was incredibly generous as were the other guests. Our stay was comfortable and reasonably priced. The hostel is near the ocean and the yard and surrounding area is very beautiful. We were even offered fresh eggs from the chickens...

My girlfriend and I found this gem among ireland's hostels more or less by accident. After staying there for one night we decided to extend our stay by one more night because of the hostel's wonderful atmosphere and the genuinely friendly staff. Beautifully situated overlooking the bay with a wonderful garden, very calm place, very clean and a cozy atmosphere.

Beautiful garden... I had the fortune of one location un-expectantly closing and referring me to Betty @ Kilcommon. I emailed and she responded immediately. A large dining room with a fireplace welcomes you. It is a great place to set down for a couple of days and day trips to the top end of County Mayo... Also very close to...

We were looked after very well and hospitably by the host, Betty. As well as having all the local knowledge needed to give us exceeelnt guidance on all local amenities and sights, Betty was also an excellent cook. Also, very reasonably priced for both bed and meals. Couldn't be happier.

My boyfriend and I stayed here as part of a kitesurfing weekend where the accomodation was organised for us. The room was great - nice warm double room which is what we needed after a day in the freezing lake. We got a great cooked breakfast in the morning too which was a great surprise. There was an outdoors area...
