Delia was the perfect host! Homemade scones when we arrived, homemade full Irish breakfast in the morning and lots of good tips. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night! We did the loop walk in the sunset, there was no-one else but the sheep, it was spectacular!
Wonderful welcome from the lovely Delia and her family who made us feel at home immediately. The location is stunning and extremely peaceful and the loop walk is great. The smell of the peat fire merged with the beauty of the area and the warmth of the welcome.
A perfect stopover on the Wild Atlantic Way. Comfortable bedroom with use of lounge and kitchen. Warm welcome from Delia who went out of her way to ensure that we were able to prepare an evening meal. Just a shame that the local Corncrake failed to show on a very windy evening!
I have visited Ireland many times over the past 30 years, and without exception this B&B has to be the best one ever. The location is amazing, the accommodations lovely and perfect in every way, and Delia is the most warm and welcoming hostess you could ever hope for. I can’t wait to go back!
This was our 2nd visit to lovely Delia, Cathal and Erris Head, and more visits to come for sure! The location feels like being at the end of the world with just the wild Atlantic and the sheep which all can be fully enjoyed through the windows of the house or through the spectacular Erris Head Loop walk. This is really a must visit in Ireland. Thank you Delia, Cathal and little Mylo for the warm welcome and for making us feel like home. Thanks for great company, chats and for spoiling us with homebaked scones and brown bread, seafood and much more, really appreciate it all. Looking forward to making our way back soon!
We can't recommend highly enough Erris Head House. Delia , Cathal and the lovely Milo gave us a warm welcome, and we loved the turf fire and fresh scones that were waiting our arrival. Homemade brown bread and a delicious breakfast was all part of the deal. The B&B is in a beautiful place with the Erris Loop walk on your doorstep. The accommodation was spotless and comfortable, but it was the welcome that already has us planning our next trip back. Joan & Andy
This was our second stay in Erris Head House and we are already looking forward to another visit. There are only great things to say about it – from the friendliness of the welcome, to the perfect location right by the start of a gorgeous loop walk on Erris Head, to how cosy the guest sitting room is (fire always lit!) and how handy it is to have a great big kitchen, fully stocked, that you can use when you come back starving after a hike or cycle. Even though we went for the self-catering option, Delia and Cathal generously kept us well fed with bread, scones, boxty and even fresh seafood. We decided voluntarily to pay the small amount extra for breakfast included but even at this, the stay was really great value and we left feeling very spoilt. Delia, Cathal and family are very friendly and great fun and make guests feel very welcome. On the other hand, guests stay in a separate section of the house, so there is privacy. Delia and Cathal are up for recognition from the Mayo Business Awards in the category of Best Hospitality. They would be very deserving winners so fingers crossed! I’d recommend to any guests to bring their bikes and cycle An Fod Dubh. Take the coast road anti-clockwise to get the best views. Lunch options are scarce (non-existent, really) so pack some of Delia’s brown bread. Thanks to Delia and Cathal (and Mylo!) for such a memorable and refreshing stay!…
Lovely B&B in the wilds of Mayo a must see area for any rural location lovers. It is right beside a fabulous loop walk where you may only meet sheep and you can see the stones laid out from world war 11 that identified the area as EIRE . Lovely landlady and family too, access to kitchen for tea coffee etc and welcome scones were available. Turf fire, comfy bed and great breakfast
We recently visited Belmullet, Co Mayo for a visit. We stayed in Erris Head B&B. There were 5 of us 2 adults and 3 children. What a warm genuine welcome from B&B owner Delia and Cathal. We had a family room with 1 double bed and 3 single beds. En suite too. We had our own kitchen and sitting room with a lovely stove fire burning turf. Such a homely place and we were welcomed with a basket of freshly baked scones which were delicious. Because the B&B is out in The village of Glenlara at Erris Head, there is no light pollution so the night sky is STUNNING !! never have the children seen a sky full of so many starship!! Breakfast the next morning was excellent. A great choice of cereals cheeses juices and a lovely cooked breakfast. I can wholeheartedly recommend this B&B John August 2018.…
We'll never forget our 4 night stay in this five star farmhouse B & B accommodation, which offered truly first class generous hospitality in a unique off the beaten track location. Access to a large kitchen area with food/beverages provided was very welcome and much appreciated, along with host Delia's very helpful chats re local tourism info about this locality. Delia's homemade brown bread was the best we've ever tasted in Ireland! We very much enjoyed the Erris Head Loop Walk, a wild trek around one of the most remote peninsulas in Ireland, especially the fascinating flying exploits of the resident gannet community. Highly recommended. Don't hesitate. Book now.
