I can't imagine a better way to immerse a traveler into the Dingle Peninsula. Jimmy's place is the heart of Dingle. From driving down the fun road (room for one car!) to his adorable pink home, to the warm greeting at the door, the warm scones and hot tea, and many many other welcoming touches, we would not hesitate to return. In fact, I can only hope time doesn't change a thing at Coill an Rois. I can't wait to return to Ireland, and his home in Dingle. Thank you Jimmy!
Jimmy is awesome. He (or Noreen) will welcome you in, and proceed to tell lots of stories and give great advice. A neighbor may also come over to visit and gab. :) The rooms are comfortable and clean, and have everything you need. The front sitting room on the first floor is also very cozy and comfy. In the morning, Jimmy will have fresh baked scones and brown bread to accompany breakfast, and cook whatever you desire (within reason). French press coffee is a real treat! You're out in the peaceful countryside, with beauty and silence all around. Wish we could've stayed longer!
5 of us cyclists stayed here in early October. Worse rain I ever experienced, but the warmth of the welcome and the comfort of the accommodation made our visit special. Jimmy was an extraordinary host. his breakfast would fuel you for a week!
Lovely stay, beautiful rooms, great staff, amazing location. Great sights and sounds. We will be back next year, looking forward to it. Thank you very much. I will recommend it highly to others also..
From the moment we walked in the door we felt like family! Kerry was playing in the GAA semi-Finals when we arrived and both Jimmy and Noreen welcomed us to watch with them (or we invited ourselves;)) and explained the rules of this interesting game! Lots of laughs and Jimmy and I had a great time traveling down memory lane, having both spent time living in NYC around the same time. Not much more that I can add to what others have posted here - they are amazing hosts and I can only recommend a stay here. We hope to be back soon!
We stayed here for 3 nights while exploring the Dingle Peninsular. The room we had was large, clean and had a decent sized en-suite and beautiful views of the fields and Mount Brandon Jimmy (the host) was the most welcoming and helpful person I have possibly met. He made us coffee, tea and freshly baked treats upon arrival. Gave us advice on where to visit and prepared us excellent porridge with Bailey Irish Cream and freshly made American Pancakes and fruit each morning. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. There was only one pub/restaurant open nearby die to covid restrictions (it was fully booked throughout our stay). So we opted to travel into Dingle (a 15 minute drive) a couple of the nights and had an excellent dinner in Murphy’s in Ballyferriter the home of Star Wars only a 10 minute drive away. A town with 3 or 4 bars and well worth a visit. The location is a superb base to see some of the best views and historic sites in the area. Nearby are excellent beaches and Jimmy advised is on the best ones to visit. Highly recommended and great value for money.…
Stayed for 2 days. The house for me felt like it was off the beaten track, but that is just normal for Dingle/Kerry it seems. :) It is situated in the mountains. The view was incredible, cows outside the window and clouds moving across the field. My son wanted to try out practising his Irish and Jimmie and Noreen helped him immensely. Both in talking with him, but also recommending places to visit where others will talk to him in Irish. Even the neighbours we bumped into were friendly. Food was great. Beds were comfortable and we slept well. Shower was quite powerful and good. They are also handling Covid restrictions very well. Felt totally safe, even when meeting others. Would 100% recommend and may be back. :)
We stayed 3 nights & location is ideal for visiting both Dingle Town & Penninsula as well as Blasket trip, Mount Brandon, Dingle Way, Slea Head drive or a day at the Beach as its central to all. The Welcome from the hosts Jimmy & Noreen with offer of tea & home baking while also providing information of things to do was a great start to our stay. Room was spotless & so comfortable, breakfast was excellent with great choice & all freshly cooked with home baking which was just delicious. Great place, we loved our stay & will be back.
I stayed at Coill An Rois for 4 nights at the beginning of July 2021. My friend booked it for me and I didn’t know what to expect… I was most pleasantly surprised when we pulled up to the house and it was painted pink on the outside! Completely unmissable and looked so inviting. When I got inside, Jimmy (the owner/host) was very welcoming and even helped me with my suitcases up the stairs. The room (no. 8) was a good size with a comfortable double bed. The view was beautiful, I could see right across the fields towards the mountains. And the whole place was impeccably clean. Jimmy was a very attentive host and always asked every morning and night if there was anything I needed to make my stay more comfortable. He prepared a lovely breakfast each day, including fresh mini muffins! I loved staying here and would come back again for sure! It was the nicest bed & breakfast that I’ve ever stayed at. Thank you Jimmy :)…
It's been two years that i have been in this hotel, but I will never forget how great Jimmy has been! It's such a wonderful place, his scones are the best and he just really is such a lovely person! Thanks for everything!
