Detailed Reviews
My teenage daughter and I are having a lovely stay at Castlewood House. Our beds are very comfortable, everywhere is very clean and the location is quiet whilst close to Dingle village.
Helen and Brian have made us feel very welcome. Our every request is met with generous hospitality. On arrival, after a long journey which involved hours of driving and concentration for me (a widow), Brian provided an ample afternoon tea. Thank you, Brian, it helped so much.
We love the jacuzzi bath in the spacious bathroom, so relaxing after a day out at sea. We love the view of the harbour from the front of this hotel, where Fungi the Dolphin lives. Ventry beach is a few miles away, as is the spectacular Slea Head drive.
The breakfast which Brian presents has to be tasted to be believed. I recommend Eggs Benedict, his presentation is spectacular. My teen loves their afternoon tea of cake and scones with cream and jam, delicious after a drizzly walk by the sea.
My girl says she feels it is like we are Helen and Brian’s friends staying at their home, rather than a hotel, which sums it all up for both of us. By the way, all the bathroom shampoos and gels are sensitive skin- friendly and water is purified.
We love it here, thanks Helen and Brian for your lovely welcome, we give you plus plus stars 🌟

My wife Lisa and I stayed t the Castlewood House on February 28th and 29th 2020 mas part of a two week vacation in Ireland. As alluded to in my title, Helen and Brian are the perfect Bed and Breakfast owners. Upon our arrival Brian checked us in offering us a mimosa while we completed the check in process. Our room was lovely with a view of the bay , a very comfortable bed and excellent bathroom facilities. The Inn had one of the best breakfasts we experienced on our stay , with numerous entrees , that were all delicious.
The location of Castlewood is ideal, it is a ten minute walk to the center of Dingle and numerous pubs and restaurants. There is a well maintained side walk all the way into town. Helen and Brian recommended several restaurants and pubs , two of which we visited and were very satisfied.
Helen and Brian also made wonderful suggestions for using our limited time in Dingle. Despite a rather nasty storm which pounded Dingle with heavy winds, Helen encouraged us to do the Slea Head Drive. It was an amazing experience with some of the most magnificent views of the Atlantic that I have ever see. They also recommended a tour of the Dingle Distillery and they called to make us a reservation. I would highly recommend a visit. We had an excellent guide and were able to walk through the actual working distillery. Also, there was a tasting at the beginning and the end, which is unique to this type of experience.
To summarize, I highly recommend the Castlewood Inn, you will not be disappointed!

This house has been decorated to a really high standard with very spacious reception rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms. The breakfast menu is so long and very interesting options. The quality of the food is superb and plenty of tea/coffee to kick start the day. Brian and Helen are very happy to help out if you want advice on a walk or cycle route. Dingle has plenty of restaurants so you'll have no problem finding a place to eat at different price ranges.

Conveniently located on the edge of Dingle town, this beautifully furnished guesthouse is a quiet gem with ocean bay views. Spacious rooms are furnished with antiques, except for the very modern beds. Sumptuous linens and towels topped our evening experience. In the morning, breakfast is individually prepared and served by family and friends. Take time to extend your Dingle visit so you can enjoy the ambience of Castlewood Guesthouse.

We recently spent two nights in Castlewood House and had the most enjoyable experience. From check-in to check-out every aspect of our stay was of the very highest standard. Located a pleasant 10 minute walk from the town centre, we enjoyed the peace and quiet that came with being slightly removed from the hustle and bustle. We stayed in a deluxe room upstairs which was spotlessly clean, spacious and beautifully appointed. We had a wonderful view of the sea and mountains beyond. Our bed was extremely comfortable and, as there wasn’t a sound to be heard at night, we slept like logs. The bathroom had both a jacuzzi bath and separate shower. Until indoor dining resumes, evening dinner is available next door in their sister property. This is a must as it is a culinary treat. The accompanying wine list is very competitively priced. This property is famous for breakfast, in a word it is AMAZING! You get a menu of various ‘starters’ (juices, cereals, yoghurts, fruit and bread and butter pudding). You then have a choice of 18! ‘mains’, I highly recommend the pancakes. The owners, Helen and Brian, work hard at providing guests with the best possible hospitality in Dingle. Their magnificent Castlewood House is a joy to stay in. You will not be disappointed.

Castlewood House really doesn't need a review from me. It's easy enough to read all of the wonderful reviews already out there, and to find a list of all of the awards that they have received over the years. Helen and Brian Heaton have built a great reputation by always making everything about Castlewood House first class. The location is perfect, just far enough away from the business district of Dingle to be quiet in the evenings, but close enough to enjoy the 10 minute walk along the bay to and from an evening out. The rooms are as comfortable and attractive as any you will find anywhere and breakfast cannot be beaten. No visit to Ireland is complete without a visit to Castlewood House. It's got all of the luxury you need, but with the relaxed feel of staying with great friends (which you are). Every time I leave I start counting the days until I can return.

I'm a repeat offender at Castlewood House and I just spent a week there during September. It was a great relief to stay somewhere that took social distancing so seriously and I didn't have one worry from beginning to end. Plenty of space between guests at breakfast, and what a breakfast! It is to die for. Lots of space in the guest house along with spacious rooms and the wonderful staff were a joy to meet each day. I can't speak highly enough about Castlewood House, it's a perfect location far enough out of Dingle to be completely quiet, fabulously comfortable beds, beautiful view out on the water, and you can relax completely there. I would like to stay there year round, but it's not possible! It is a perfect spot for Covid-19 times as you'll feel completely safe and relaxed there while having as much privacy as you want.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Castlewood House ,Dingle for three nights. What a wonderful experience! We were warmly welcomed by Brian, who checked us in with welcome refreshments and then proceeded to show us to our luxurious and spotless room looking out over Dingle Bay.The house is perfectly located, approx ten minutes from centre of Dingle town.
Breakfast was absolutely superb,a memorable food experience with a huge choice. The fact that we were both coeliacs didn't take from the choice -,there wasn't a stone left unturned in ensuring we were well looked after.
.Well informed and friendly staff gave us great tips on where to go,what to do etc. during our trip. They answered our questions with great enthusiasm ,genuinely interested in our plans.
Covid regulations were taken seriously here ,we felt very safe
All in all we found this to be a wonderful place to stay, professionally run by a team that has customer service down to a fine art..Our only fault is that we didn't book it for longer. We will be back!

My husband and I experienced a beautiful short break in Castlewood House during the most glorious week of sunny weather Ireland has gotten in a long time. The location was fantastic we were able to walk into the town centre in less than 10 minutes. It was also a great access point for doing the Slea head drive and getting to nearby beaches. The room was comfortable and very clean. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming to us with a special note of mention to Colleen and the other lady (who unfortunately we did not get her name) but served us a beautiful breakfast private breakfast one morning as we celebrated our wedding anniversary. The breakfast menu is endless with beautiful well-thought-out foods that will set you up for the day or journey ahead. I cannot wait to get back there again and would recommend Castlewood to anyone I know going to Dingle. One note:as the weather was exceptionally hot unprecedented for Ireland and we never thought to ask for a fan for a room but as we were only there at night this was not a big issue for us.

Castlewood Hotel is in a great location in Dingle, a short walk to all the attractions, the rooms were spotless and very tastefully decorated with a beautiful view, the breakfast was spectacular, but most of all Helen and Brian and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful. Brian was able to get a last minute restaurant booking for us as well as seats on a hard to get tour on a holiday weekend. We defintely will be going back!

I would not think so but email the owners
I don’t think there was one, but I totally agree with Anne L. I’m sure they would help you find one.
The hotel is about a bit of a walk to town, there are taxi services available and the hotel can arrange them for you.
Best to email Helen and Brian asap to discuss dates, I think Castlewood has 14 rooms some with double beds. There is free car parking in front and hotel is conveniently located 10 minute walk into town. Elevator in house but there are a few steps up to front door and inside foyer.
Dingle is a fun town for children and they are allowed in pubs to hear music. Murphy's ice Cream, Dingle Aquarium, pottery workshop, fishing in bay - see Fungi the wild dolphin, historic and tour attractions out west on Slea Head Drive, beautiful beaches for picnic lunch. Dingle Crystal workshop is awesome, owner Sean is master glass artist and rides very cool Harley Motorcycles.
Enjoy Dingle! Ellen
