We stayed at the B&B for one night. We arrived and picked up our key for a first floor room. It had a skylight in the sloping roof with a view of the hill behind. The sloping roof made the room and the bathroom feel a bit small. The room was spotlessly clean and had plenty of hanging space, a TV on the wall and normally has tea and coffee available (but didn’t due to Covid19 restrictions - although we were told we could ask for hot drinks downstairs whenever we wanted). The walls of the rooms were quite thin and we could hear people talking in other rooms. We found the bed a bit hard and uncomfortable.

The location of the B&B is a little out of town. It means it’s quiet but about a 10 minute walk downhill into town, and a 15 minute walk uphill on the way back. It didn’t cause us a major problem although we got a bit wet on the walk back in the evening.

Breakfast the following morning was good and set us up for the day.

Overall, the B&B is good but we would probably try another option closer to town and with a more comfortable bed next time.

Great location, lovely hospitality and generous breakfast. Dermot made us feel very comfortable with welcoming glass of wine and helped with restaurant booking and suggestions. He also allowed us to use the washing machine and dryer for a small fee as we were getting desperate for clean socks. It’s a perfect place to stay in Dingle if you are exploring the peninsula.

We are just back from a lovely stay in this B & B. From the moment we arrived, Mary made us feel at home with her great advice on local hikes and where to eat and drink in Dingle. The bedroom and guest areas are spotlessly clean. The breakfast was amazing, with lots of choice and great coffee, served by Mary and her daughter Ciara. The views are spectacular and it is very conveniently positioned just a 10 minute walk from the centre of Dingle, which means it is lovely and quiet. Can not wait to visit again soon.

We had a beautiful stay at The Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast. Dermot, the owner could not have been more kind, generous, funny and accommodating! My family was celebrating my mom’s birthday so we had a group of 7 and three rooms. We enjoyed learning from Dermot about the area and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room was comfortable and spacious, a few minutes walk to town, and breakfast options were fabulous. We loved the sitting area for our family to gather before heading to dinner! The inn has fabulous views!! We would highly recommend staying at this beautiful location and we were more than happy to support this local business!! Dermot is happy when his guests are happy!! As he says, “Enter as strangers, leave as friends!”

Room Tip: The inn is located at the top of the hill. We enjoyed getting our “steps” in to and from town on...

The Most Hospitable Host! (And we are from Mississippi!)
Dermot was a joy! So welcoming and helpful... he went out of his way to accommodate us after a miscommunication with our number of guests initially, and gave us a brand new room that was not even ready yet for other guests to make sure we were comfortable. The Lighthouse is cozy and inviting, with lovely views from the living/sitting area and breakfast areas... I wish we had more time to relax here and soak it all in. Dermot recommended two great restaurants and even booked them for us as we arrived... one of which was one of our favorites in Ireland during our 10 day touring trip! He even personally drove us there to drop us off on our first night! Truly a perfect host, and his son Jack was also very personable and helpful. We certainly hope to travel back to Dingle again to enjoy more of this lovely town... and when we do , we will most definitely stay here again! Thank you so much for a great stay in Dingle!

We had a wonderful stay at the lighthouse. Actually this is our 2nd time, we stayed same time in last year and we enjoyed stay so we came back!
Room is specious and it has a nice sea view. As well as a big powerful shower.
Also breakfast has a great selections. (Full/ mini Irish, scrambled eggs, pancakes, etc) B&B is walking distance from town center. We highly recommend.

This is not a fancy place. It is very basic and a great value for the money. Dermot takes great care to ensure all of your comforts are met. The bed was nice and firm, we had plenty of towels and there was plenty to eat at breakfast. Dermot was extremely helpful to provide tips on restaurants, pubs and things to do in Dingle.

Dermot is the most fantastic host and will take exceptional care of you on your stay. Immediately, he made me feel like family. And as a solo female traveller, it was nice to feel like I belonged there! He even made a special reservation at a restaurant that was totally booked, for me.

I loved how Lighthouse was a little bit removed from the hustle of town. It was a perfect walk away--quiet, peaceful, and clean. He offered great recommendations and saw to it that I had directions I needed, contacts, food and even offered suggestions in other towns. I'd recommend Lighthouse, without hesitation and will for sure be back. I assure you, Dermot will take great care of you!

Absolutely perfect stay. We came and stayed in 2 rooms between the 4 of us and had an absolutely lovely time. The full cooked to order breakfast helped us start our day and kept us full enough that we could only eat a light lunch. We had everything we needed for our stay and as we were here in a heat wave, they even provided a fan for our hot sleeper to feel more comfortable, though the evenings get much cooler and opening a window brings in a wave of cool air.

Would I stay here again? Absolutely without a doubt. It was reasonable, clean, in a lovely location still walkable to the pubs, great view, friendly family running it. I daydream about this stay it was so wonderful and in such a beautiful area.

The Lighthouse BNB in Dingle was perfect. We had been actively touring Ireland for over a week and staying here for three nights was a welcome respite.

The host, Dermot, was very responsive and accommodating. Whenever a need arose, we were able to reach him easily, either in person or texting/phone call. On arrival, he gave us a personal tour of Dingle, pointing out sights and favorite places to eat. Even when we got snockered at the Dingle Distillery, he carried us home on his back (I’m just kidding!).

The room was comfy and quiet. The view over Dingle Bay was great. Breakfast every morning was delectable and delicious.

Like the street sign says, take the High Road when visiting Dingle. Because …stand by…you too will see why we liked The Lighthouse so much!
