Unfortunately we couldn't get a nights sleep due to some kind of motor/generator outside the window of our room and the noise from the street was unbearable in all 3 rooms. As residents it would have been nice to eat in the restaurant but booked out for the time we stayed.
I booked in here at the last minute. The room is fine but outside is quite noisy when the pubs close. Lots of singing and shouting outside and no breakfast which came as a surprise in the morning. When I called the owner about that she was more concerned that I was out by 10 am. She was quite dismissive. The food in the pub downstairs is pretty expensive and there's nothing for vegetarians. We are encouraged to staycation in Ireland at the moment. Give this one a miss.
First visit to Dingle and first visit to Ashe’s but definitely not the last! Amazing meal made from locally sourced fish and meat - thoroughly recommend the beef and Guinness stew with mash. Accompanied throughout by the best Guinness I have ever tasted!👏👍
Was disappointed at the high prices and the friendliness of the staff. Doesn’t reflect the outside appearance of a friendly Dingle Pub. Food was good, restaurant was clean. Depends on what your looking for on Dingle
I've stayed in Dingle multiple times and never had a bad experience. From staying in Benners Hotel or Skelligs Hotel or several Air B'n'B private accommodation, all my previous experiences were great. I chose to stay in James G. Ashe's Bed and Breakfast just to try a different place but I truly regret this. First of all , its not a Bed and Breakfast as they do not serve breakfast even though they have a bar and restaurant downstairs. The ensuite room was clean but this is the only positive. On my first night I struggled to fall asleep due to noise on the street, but was prepared to wait till it subdued. However a loud buzzing noise kept me awake. I realised it was the cooler box in the room and unplugged it. Noise went away, only to be replaced by another buzzing humming noise which was relentless thru the night ( boiler room? Central heating? Kitchen fridges below? I do not know) Eventually I fell asleep at around 7 am only to be woken again by loud voices right outside my room at 8.30 am. The following night I purchased ear plugs and being exhausted from lack of sleep the previous night was looking forward to a blissful night of deep sleep. HOWEVER, even with ear plugs the buzzing and humming was loud enough to keep me awake till 4.30 am, finally fell asleep due to exhaustion , only to be woken up again at 7.30 by activity in the building. But the most disappointing thing apart from not being able to sleep was the unwelcoming feeling I felt from the owner..in my experience Dingle is very welcoming and so are its people, but in this instance the owner couldn't care less, and when she met me, after being checked in by another staff member, she could barely muster a hello..if so jaded by visitors, then stop offering accommodation .. I tried to speak to her about the room, but she swiftly moved away and cut me short. Also I wonder does the accommodation upstairs have a fire cert, it can be seen from the pictures too that the landing outside the rooms is pretty chaotic .. never again!…
