This is our 5th year in a row staying in the holiday homes at An Capall Dubh. We stayed for 4 nights in August 2020.

It is located on Green St in a very central location for exploring Dingle.

Patrick and Helena are excellent hosts and nothing is ever too much trouble.

The holiday home(s) that we have stayed in here are always spotless and contain everything that we need. Our additional requests (high chair, cot, stair gate etc) were always ready and available on arrival.

I would highly recommend.

We stayed in one of the self catering houses for 5 nights followed by one night in the B&B. I would highly recommend Capall Dubh. Patrick and his team are so welcoming and very helpful. Staff gave great advice on beaches to visit and the safest ones for swimming. The houses are very well equipped with washing machine, dryer and dish washer which comes in very handy when travelling with young children. Fresh towels are provided and changed as needed. Beach towels are supplied and can be collected daily from reception. Stair gates supplied as we were travelling with our toddler twins. Location is excellent in the centre of Dingle minutes walk from restaurants, bars etc. Breakfast in the B&B was excellent one of the nicest.Look forward to returning to Capall Dubh in the future. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

Visited Dingle for four nights with friends for a staycation, we stayed in Tigín a Cúig. The house felt like a home, we settled in straight away. Room for everyone with regards to couch/bed space and the amenities all worked perfectly. COVID-19 restrictions were respected with contactless check-in/out and all linens/towels were washed. The location is great too, close to everything! Would definitely stay again.

We spent 2 nights here in May 2022 in 'Seomra Cuig' (aka room 5) in the main B&B part of the property. Check in (contactless) was an email that the key (physical key) was in the room. This was a big room with a queen bed and a single bed. There was no air conditioning, but the widows did open to cool the room. There are shades on the window and skylight as the sun rises early and sets late in May. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast requests were filled out the night before with dining time to avoid overcrowding, although the property was not fully booked during our stay. The breakfast was made to order and delicious with the staff taking the time to interact with guests and provide tips for touring for the day. It is a gated property and parking (with access code) and is very convenient to all that is Dingle. Check out was 'Leave your key in the door'. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone staying in Dingle.

Just saw from my online account that you tried to charge me the full €720 euro fee for our cancelled visit on the 4th of April.

Thankfully I had the good sense to let my bank know earlier to block the transaction just in case ye tried it, although it should never have been necessary.

I contacted you last week to give you plenty of notice about our situation and the multiple cancellations we'd had from our activity and bus providers due to the Covid-19 spread.

I then contacted you today in good faith to confirm the cancellation after all pubs and restaurants had been closed, which you decided to ignore, and instead just tried to charge me in full.

I understand your policy with regards to last minute cancellations, and also that your business can't be doing well with all the shutdowns, but given the current situation, I'm disgusted that you tried to charge us fully for a situation completely out of everyone's control.

When we rebook our trip after the current situation blows over, it will not be with you, and we will be letting our friends and family know to stay away from doing any business with you in the future.

Nevertheless, best of luck with the current shutdown, stay safe.

Chris you are not telling the truth . You booked 6 rooms for the 4th April with your credit card and were informed you had to pay the full amount if you did not cancel within the month . You did not cancel within the month . That was the agreement . With regards to the Covid 19 we are accommodating all bookings that we are rescheduling for later dates . You had no intention of keeping your agreement with us to reschedule and you lied and proved it by blocking your credit card so be honest and tell the truth . We at An Capall Dubh stand over all booking made during this period of uncertainty with Covid and are happily rescheduling all bookings and honouring them as per usual . Honour Yours Chris and answer your phone like a man to reschedule your dates . Míle buíochas Helena And Patrick owners

The location is perfect, the breakfasts were fantastic and the hosts were warm and helpful. The four of us stayed in House #1 - the beds were comfortable, had a washer/dryer, full kitchen. While the shower had plenty of hot water, the water pressure was not great. Lots of places for dinners, long walks and bars! Definitely recommend.

I cannot believe that in all the reviews of this place no one has mentioned the lack of soundproofing in this place. Prior reviews mentioned the great location and easy check in, great water pressure and clean rooms. All that is true.

However, we are now one night into a two night stay upstairs with three other rooms and what I will mention is that there is literally no soundproofing anywhere on the second floor above the dining room.

The door slamming by other guests went on well beyond midnight and began again at 6:30 am.

You can hear people talking in other rooms. You know when your neighbours turn on their bathroom fan. You know when your neighbours shower. You can hear them cough and talk.

It’s a shame because it really does seem like a nice place. I would recommend it if you are hard of hearing or if you bring noise cancelling headphones. But if you want a good night’s sleep, maybe try to find another place to stay.

Dé do bheathasa , Our business is located off the street in a very quiet courtyard . We have concrete sound proof floors in the building and all concrete walls . The doors are wooden and the floors on top of the concrete soundproof floors are thick wood the stairs are wooden with carpet for soundproofing . I am not sure what else we can do to sound proof further from other guests . Perhaps booking the entire building of one of our self catering house or all 6 rooms for future stays or as you suggested earplugs . The fact you can hear nothing from outside perhaps is unusual for most guests and hence they are thus attuned to hearing other guests inside the building . Anything positive to say about all the hard work we and all our team provide for all our wonderful guests ? Míle buíochas Helena 0852320641

Our stay here was lovely and we would definitely stay again. When we arrived we were able to park in the car park, instructions provided were very clear. The room was clean, with simple decoration and the bed was comfortable. We were not able to Chromecast to the TV and we couldn’t log into Netflix which was a shame. Lots of space for hanging clothes, bathroom was clean and windows opened which was nice and as an added bonus we had a skylight. The floors are wooden which meant we could hear other guests in their rooms and coming up and down the staircase. There was also a loud rumbling sound consistently through the night which I imagine would only be an issue if you were a light sleeper. Breakfast was lovely and staff were friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. I didn’t love that the towels were brown I think when you are staying somewhere white towels are great because you can tell they are clean. I also didn’t use the soap dispenser in the shower as there was a mix of different soaps with varying colours. Overall a great find and very pleasant stay.

I was fortunate to book out the entire B&B between the 16th and 21st August. There were 11 of us celebrating my retirement. Patrick was our host and all the staff were brilliant. The breakfast experience was a mixture of informative chat and pleasant conversation with all the staff who couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful with an excellent breakfast every morning. The An Capall Dubh kicked off our day setting the marker each day and made our Dingle experience such a happy one. If I was to give a score out of 10 it would be 11.

We loved our stay at An Capall Dubh in Dingle! I traveled with my husband and his brother, and we stayed in the Archway Self-Catering townhouse with three bedrooms. It was perfect for us, giving us room to have a meal or two in a spacious kitchen, as well as spread out to relax after exploring Dingle and the area. The location is ideal, an easy walk to all of the charming spots to explore in Dingle. We shopped at the quaint The Little Cheese Shop and had a delightful spread from our selections there.
We appreciated having a washer and dryer in the house. We also had the option to pay for breakfast in the lovely dining area, which we did one of the four mornings we were there. The food was delicious and we were treated to a wonderful discussion with host Helena, who shared engaging stories about the area. She set us out on a day excursion to explore Gallarus Oratory and Kilmalkedar Church, as well as The Pilgrims trail/Saints Road.
One of our other excursions while in Dingle was a Skellig Michael Landing Tour. Host Patrick was very helpful weeks before we arrived by referring us to Coastline Tour, for a car hire to take us on the hour and half drive to Portmagee, where our boat tour began. Our driver Emma, was accommodating and pleasant, and the route included parts of the scenic Ring of Kerry. We booked our Skellig Michael tour three months in advance with Paul Devane Tours; it was a once in a lifetime experience.
