The Last Cottage is a gem of a find but the real treasure is Margaret the owner/hostess! She went out of her way to help us in many ways. We loved her dogs also! Our room looked right out onto the beautiful water of Dingle Bay! You won't be disappointed if you stay here!
This charming Inn opened their doors for a wonderful evening concert. Attended by many locals as well. Great entertainment and Irish tunes. Another creative event created by our tour guide. A bit off the beaten path and definitely for adventurers.
The Last Cottage is a wonderful, reasonably priced, old school B&B. Here you will eat the most delicious full Irish breakfast you'll have anywhere in Ireland, prepared by the owner, Margaret, such a gracious host! The view from your bedroom window is spectacularly calming and the short walk to town is perfect. Yes, there is only one small bathroom for three guest rooms, but it was not a problem for us, particularly since each room has a sink. Margaret is full of information about the Dingle area and is so interesting to talk to - someone very well traveled. We enjoyed our stay at The Last Cottage immensely!
I stayed here with family while touring around the Dingle Peninsula. Margaret and her little dog, Bella, were lovely! Very friendly and a great breakfast. As I was with family, we didn’t mind sharing the bathroom upstairs; however, I’m not sure I would like to share this small bathroom with strangers. There are individual sinks in each room for refreshening up too. My only criticizism is the front entry way and parlour. This appears to have the only carpeting in the house, but there is a dreadful smell off it, which unfortunately permeates through the rest of the house and upstairs. If it were me, I’d replace this carpeting with the same product in the rest of the house.
The Last Cottage had everything I wanted from a BnB in Dingle, (an almost impossible list): A room right on the water, a budget friendly price, an easy walk into town, and a great breakfast. One of the best things about The Last Cottage is Margaret, she is a GEM! She has such wonderful stories about her fascinating life, she is unbelievably kind, and the woman cooks a mean breakfast. The location is an easy walk into anywhere in town, and also easy to hop onto Slea Head Drive. (Ask Margaret about which direction to drive and the must sees.) Yes, it is true that the rooms are small, and each room doesn't have a private bath. But it was no problem to us, and worth it for THAT VIEW! There's free parking, but it's on the street, or a small driveway with a limited view of the traffic. We had no issues parking, but just be aware of it. I would recommend The Last Cottage to any of my friends traveling to Dingle. The stay was nice, but it was Margaret that elevated it to great.…
