Planned a short trip to Kenmare as my partner had never been. Ashfield offered good value at €85 a night B&B for 3 nights for the two of us. Ashfield though really exceeded our expectations. Firstly both Mary and Paul were so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help you. The B&B was ideally placed being just outside of town - so no nighttime noise at all - but less than a 10 minutes walk into town….which meant we got great use of the excellent bars and restaurants in town. The room was spotlessly clean, had an excellent bathroom and shower, and a very comfy bed. There are tea and coffee making facilities as well as a hairdryer in the room. Breakfast was ordered the night before and was ready very quickly once you appeared in the dining room. And, as said earlier, the whole place was spotlessly clean. We’re really looking forward to going again and will not hesitate to stay with our excellent hosts once more.…
My wife and I traveled from the garden County and spent two nights in May at Mary and Paul's lovely Ashfield B&B while visiting Kenmare for the Ring Of Beara cycle and can't recommend staying here highly enough. Rooms were spotless, breakfast was beautiful and the location is excellent, about ten minutes walk into Kenmare town. Both Mary and Paul made us feel very welcome and we would highly recommend Ashfield B&B. Mick and Cathy Forde
I stayed in this hotel for several days and I had a great time! a few steps from Kenmare, a step away from the golf course. Excellent location, cleanliness from 10 and praise, services, excellent Breakfast menu, Mary's kindness from 11 and praise. Thanks for everything and I really hope to return very soon.
Mary is absolutely lovely. Her French toast was terrific. Enjoyed her conversation and Irish kindness. My wife and I love watching the kids nearby practicing Gaelic Football. The surroundings were quite peaceful and an easy walk to town.
This B&B was the best one we ever stayed in. Definetly 5 stars all the way.Mary and Paul could not do enough for us.They are both so friendly and helpful. The B&B was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The b&b is only a short walk into Kenmare. We will be back again soon. Thanks so much. Debbie & Aidan Barrett.
This B&B was the best one I ever stay in. The couple who own it were very friendly and helpful. The B&B was spotless and very comfortable bed and had hot drinks and water in room and all the best of toiletries in it no corners was cut. Breakfast was excellent both days I was there. I will definitely be coming next time I'm in kenmare
My husband and I stayed here for 5 days of our two week honeymoon and it was absolutely wonderful. It’s a delightful walk into town (takes maybe 5 min) and it’s surrounded by other nature walks while you’re there. Her breakfast was delicious and I tried something different almost every morning and each time was full and content. Mary gave us great information on where to go for day trips and restaurants to dine at in Kenmare. She really made us feel warm and welcome and was so genuine.
We stayed here for several days in September. The house is very nice - very clean, comfortable rooms. Mary was very welcoming and friendly. She gave us some good recommendations about local areas to visit and helped us with directions so that we could avoid some of the narrower roads. We had a car, but chose to walk into town for dinner each evening. It was an easy walk, and Mary gave us several great recommendations for dinner. Breakfast was great -- you had several choices. Great place to stay -- we'd highly recommend it. Thanks Mary!
Mary welcomed us and helped us settle into our rooms. She had also made us dinner reservations at Packies. The B&B is an easy walk into town--about 10 minutes. It's off the main road so it's very quiet. The rooms were incredibly clean. Mary was available to assist us throughout our stay. The breakfasts she prepared were delicious. The night before we'd check the menu and then sign up for what we wanted. The dining area was bright, cheery and welcoming. Thank you Mary for such a lovely stay at Ashfield B&B, Donna and Ray - Connie and Mike (24-27 August 2019)
Mary made the stay excellent. We thought we had booked 5 nights but actually had only booked 4 nights. She was able to give us another night in the same room. The room was large enough to have a seating area which we used each day. Being on a three week trip, we knew we would need to find a laundromat but Mary provided that service and saved us time.
