We enjoyed a night recently at this B&B , very warm welcome and recommendations for dinner, drinks and local walks. Great location, short walk to town. Delicious breakfast - good choice, large portions. Room a good size. Lovely views from the back of the building
Abbey Court B&B is a very comfortable place to stay for a few nights, just outside Kenmare. We were on motorcycles and the parking was secure (down a long access road). Brendan was very welcoming and we appreciated tea and biscuits on arrival. The rooms are basic but clean and he’d gone to a lot of trouble re covid safety. The views are lovely and the breakfast was super. It was kind of him to take us into town for dinner by car - great service.
This was my fourth stay with Brendan and Geraldine in 10+ years and it was just as fantastic as always. The location is perfect to leave your car and walk into the village. The house itself is spacious with plenty of spots to sit both inside and out to enjoy the beautiful view. The bed was super comfortable, the water was hot and had excellent pressure, and the room was impeccably clean. We will of course be back!
Lovely bed & breakfast great breakfast and really nice people. Rooms are lovely and the view is stunning. Also great walks in the area and a lovely town. When here also drive the ring of breagh and the healey pass both are absolutely stunning.
I had a lovely stay here recently. The hosts were excellent. Breakfast was cooked to order. I had a beautiful view from my bedroom window. Just a nice walk into Kenmare for shopping or dinner. The location was excellent.
Abbey Court deserves 5 stars in every way. It is situated just a short walk from the beautiful town of kenmare. Brendan gave us great tips for eateries. The building has awesome views over the sea and mountains. The rooms had very comfy beds, great powerful showers and were very clean. The common areas were beautifully kept and also included some sitting areas outside where we enjoyed a welcome complimentary beverages and cookies. Brendan served up a freshly cooked breakfast and there was also plenty of cheeses, yogurt, breads and fruit to choose from. The hospitality and helpfulness of the owners is what really makes it stand out. We rang Brendan and booked the two bedroomed suite which also included a washer/dryer and cooking facilities. I have not seen this online. Thanks again Brendan and staff, we will be back.…
Abbey Court is a must stay while exploring the Cork and Kerry area. Kenmare is a really pretty little town and the ideal place to stay when doing the ring of Kerry, The National Park and the Beara peininsula. The rooms at Abbey Court are really comfortable with lovely comfy beds and amazing power showers. They also have a condo suitable for families or people who want more space, The service offered by the Ceallaigh family is what makes this place stand out, you are welcomed with a cup of coffee and refreshments. The hosts will give you invaluable maps and as others have said very helpful and knowledgable about the area, The breakfast is outstanding with plenty of options including fresh fruit, yogurts, cheeses as well as cooked options. We took the advice of others and saved about €20 a night by booking via their own website…
Abbey Court is an absolutely fantastic place to stay and this is why we return here every year. Brendan and his family run a lovely clean bed and breakfast. The rooms are beautiful and spotlessly clean. We usually opt for the two bedroom family suite. The breakfast is really something we look forward to, cooked freshly by Brendan and served by Niamh or Ger. We always book direct with Brendan for a better rate and not the need to pay commissions. Looking forward to returning to our favourite place Denise, Ralph, Kim and Watson
I would like to give this B&B a strong 5 rating. The breakfast was delicious and made to order for each of us. The outside and common areas of the B&B were lovely. However, that was not the case of the individual rooms which were quite shabby. Our family of 15 was on a trip of a lifetime tour of Ireland and were shocked to find that we had to pay in cash the next morning. Most of us don't carry and had to pool our money to pay out. They had some excuse, but should have informed us when we checked in. Even though we had booked earlier, the owners seemed to be flustered when we arrived. The experience made me questen every B&B we stayed in afterward.
We couldn't have been more pleased with our two night stay at this beautiful B&B. Ger greeted us and brought us tea and cookies immediately upon our arrival. She sat down with us and brought us maps of the area and suggested which way to go. She made us breakfast early so we could get on the road ahead of the tour buses. She had the best link sausages on the trip. Ger and Brendan were both such lovely hosts. The room was a nice size and had a lovely view of their beautiful back yard and terrace. Nice shelves in the bathroom made it very easy to get ready in the morning. Very comfortable pillows which are so important to me.It was one of our favorite areas and we really hope we can return and stay a bit longer next time.
