Detailed Reviews
We stumbled upon this gem of a hotel when booking a last minute 3 night trip to Kenmare and I can't speak highly enough of our time there The staff could not have been more helpful and accomodating throughout our stay and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a fantastic experience.
The rooms are large, clean and well equipped with a large and extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom was equipped with underfloor heating and the shower pressure was second to none (both of which were very welcome after some long hikes in the beautiful Kerry countryside).
The a la carte breakfast (included in the room rate) was one of the of the best I've experienced at any hotel around the world. It was delightful to see a range of local produce showcased throughout the menu and on display in the breakfast buffet. Of particular note were the award winning local sausages.
We also dined at Number 35, owned by the same family, in Kenmare during our stay and had an excellent meal. The town centre is less than a 5 minute walk down a quiet pedestrian footpath so extremely accessible if you fancy venturing down there to visit the array of shops, bars and restaurant on offer.
We could not be more appreciative of the effort that Una and Siobhan made to ensure our stay was a memorable one and will absolutely visit again.

We arrived in the Brook Lane Hotel on July 5th and received a really warm Kerry welcome. Everything was regularly cleaned to a very high standard, tables were well spaced out, hand sanitizer provided throughout the hotel, and staff wore masks or visors. Thus we felt safe but very relaxed, as every single staff member was friendly, helpful and efficient.
Our room was very comfortable and quiet, and the food was delicious. There was a wide range of dishes served from 12.00 noon to 9.00 p.m., with emphasis on the best of local produce. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order.
We also ate in the hotel's award winning restaurant "No. 35" in Kenmare, which can be quickly reached on foot via a lovely short cut. The food here was equally tasty and beautifully presented. Advance booking is essential.
Kenmare is a charming town and very well located for exploring the area, especially the stunning and unspoiled Beara Peninsula.
This was our first stay in the Brook Lane Hotel, but it was obvious that the hotel has many "return guests", and that is no surprise. It was a great choice for a "staycation", and we would certainly like to return.

From start to finish of my 2 nights in Brook Lane Hotel was perfect. Had dinner both days (1 wedding dinner) both were as good as the other. Una and all staff in the hotel could not do enough for us, each one was as nice and helpful as each other. We gave drinks order on first night and was remembered by all staff throughout stay. The hotel was absolutely spotless clean. The beds were the biggest comfiest beds ever, the pillows were chunky soft comfortable pillows which felt like I was sleeping in the clouds. There was absolutely nothing to fault. The full breakfast was the best breakfast I’ve ever eaten in a hotel, cooked to my order and not sitting for ages. The little fruit & yoghurt pots were gorgeous and orange juice squeezed there. My whole time here was faultless, absolutely superb hotel with the most wonderful staff. I would highly recommend and will return to enjoy again.

A group of us stayed in the Hotel for a cycling holiday around Kenmare. The owner, Una, could not have been more accommodating in terms of any requests from last minute changes in guest numbers to bike storage. She even offered a free laundry service for our cycling gear at the end of each day. The staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. The food was of the highest standard from the award winning bacon and sausages at breakfast to the gourmet restaurant for evening meals. We will definitely be back.

We had the best time at Brook Lane Hotel. It is lovely, well decorated, comfy, clean. The owner and all employees were extremely helpful and so sweet! The breakfast is having all what you need and you can also ask for scrambled eggs or whatever you want, they will make it for you.
The added value will be their restaurant: food is tasty; it was so good from day one that we had dinner all evening on place. Their card is giving you many alternative. I can advice their goat cheese tart, the roll of ducks, the ribs ( the most tender I have ever eaten, their salmon, ... all was good.
They also sell some great sea products which are nice presents for your caring ones at home.
They have a big parking.
The only thing a boiler in the bedroom will be for sure appreciated, but I can understand it is not there as you have really nice carpets.

Our first trip outside our home since lockdown and with a little anxiety as to how it would be - found our fears were needless. A very friendly, efficient, wonderful stay was balm to the soul after the last few months. A high regard for hygiene, adherence to all necessary practices and concern for the peace of mind of guests was very reassuring.
Stunning visits to nearby scenic spots, coupled with superb food (they farm their own pork,) stunning black pudding arrancini, mouth watering brown bread, freshest eggs and homemade granola for breakfast left us longing to extend our stay. Situated a few minutes walk outside the main town provided a comforting feeling of seclusion, not to mention a very necessary post-prandial walk. This is wonderful Kenmare hospitality.

I chose the Brook Lane Hotel as the reviews were very good and we were not disappointed. It is an attractive looking boutique hotel just a 5 minute walk into Kenmare. This is nice as its not on the main street and had a good amount of parking spots behind the hotel. We were greeted by Uma and Siobhan when we entered. Both were friendly and helpful during our entire stay and we had several interesting conversations with both of them. There is a nice pub just off the restaurant. Even though it was a Monday night in February, the restaurant was packed as the food was very good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was included in the room charge and it was the best we had in Ireland during this trip. I had the Full Irish but there were several other choices and a large assortment of buffet items like croissants, breads, jams cereals and best of all smoked salmon. Overall would definitely stay there again

Recently attended a family wedding in this boutique hotel. We enjoyed a two night stay here during which we found the staff, including Siobhan and Pat, were friendly and courteous. On the wedding day, the attention to detail was second to none. The tasty and well presented meal was a particular highlight of the reception. We also found the facilities in this hotel excellent; decent sized and comfortable bedroom, spacious and modern bathroom with hot water constantly available. The location of the hotel is ideal, a three minute walk to the town centre of Kenmare which has an abundance of pubs, cafes, shops and restaurants to explore. I would strongly recommended staying in this hotel as it offers excellent facilities, an enjoyable dining experience, is in an ideal location and is run by experienced, friendly and courteous staff.

Just returned from a very enjoyable stay in Brook Lane. Una the owner personally made sure we were superbly looked after. Nothing was too much trouble for her. I am a very light sleeper but she made sure that the room we were allocated was quiet and away from bright street lights as requested and upgraded our room as it was our wedding anniversary which was a lovely touch. The staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. A shout out to the lady serving breakfast always smiling and hard working. Breakfast was fantastic a huge array of food cooked to order and all locally produced. All the staff work very hard here to make sure you enjoy your stay. We ate in Casey’s restaurant where the food was superb and also in their sister restaurant No. 35 which was a real treat, great food and wonderful service here too and very nice ambiance. Overall I would say that the service here is top notch deserving of five stars rather than the four they have. Great value too for our two night stay and 1 dinner. I was very happy with the hotel’s Covid procedures the hotel was spotless throughout with proper Covid protocol in evidence. Thanks to Una and family for such an amazing stay and to all the hardworking staff in these challenging times. I would highly recommend this hotel and will be back for more of the same.

We stayed here for 3 nights. All the staff are very helpful and friendly from the Bar to Reception to Breakfast and Room staff. The bedroom was lovely and well laid out with nice high ceilings and generous space. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was nicely laid out with underfloor which was a little too hot but nice. The whole hotel was very clean. The Food was very good and well presented in the Restaurent and very tasty. The Breakfast was good and you could get a good full breakfast, Buffet I felt was a bit lacking but I understand this is possibly due to Covid and everything was in small jars. There was no kettle in the rooms but the Brook Lane offers a great service where you just dial reception when you want Tea or Coffee and they send it to your room free, Much better than a kettle. We would stay here again.

I'm not sure but I will say that we don't get the extremes of temperatures that you get in Florida. Air conditioning is not something that is common in Ireland.
Enjoy your trip when ever you visit and make sure you walk Derrynane beach which is about 25 mins drive from Kenmare
Yes you can walk into Kenmare very easily. There is a wide path from the hotel into town that keeps you from having to walk on the street. It is well lit after dark. It isn't a long walk about five blocks guessing. We walked to town every day.
