Detailed Reviews
Myself and my partner stayed for three nights recently. The design and layout of the B&B is so elegant warm and cosy. The room In which we stayed in our room was flawless and spacious with a very comfy bed with a fabulous view of the country side so peaceful but only five minutes’ walk to the town of Kenmare the weather was fabulous during the weekend. Breakfast was made to order with plenty choice and was delicious, fabulous hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Marian and David and we will definitely be back and would highly recommend

Mary and David have an outstanding B&B, from the beautiful landscaping outside to the comfortable, quiet nicely decorated rooms inside.
Free on site parking, and large en-suite bathrooms included and we had to only walk about a block to be in town, very quiet location.
We were welcomed at the door by Mary who had tea and cookies for us.
David and their daughter Feona, served breakfast and gave us great information on sites to visit and directions. Mary made us a full delicious breakfast every morning with lots of options. This is a place we highly recommend!!

This B&B is like home from home if not better with a peaceful atmosphere and is a stone throw from Kenmare centre. We were greeted with the warmest of smiles from Marion and her family. We arrived late on the Friday evening and were made feel so welcome to use the main sitting room where Marion provided us with tea/coffee facilities and biscuits.
Our room was by far the best I have stayed in with the most comfortable beds. They are immaculate.
We had a great selection for the breakfast and Marian makes her own porridge bread, the smell is scrumptious! She is an unreal host. The location was so convenient for us as we were participating in The Quest the next Saturday morning.
After the event We were allowed use the facilities in our room to freshen up.
It really is a fantastic B&B with the warmest family there.
Thank you so much foe welcoming us into your home.

Beautiful house, outside and inside. Me and my ten year old daughter had a room with a bay window and it really was lovely, bright, spotless, spacious with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious, they catered well for all of us, me (vegetarian breakfast), kids (freshly made pancakes) my bro & sis in law (full Irish). Great location and reasonable price.

Rockcrest is a beautiful (and beautifully located) house, well-established but with a feel of having been recently redecorated, only a few minutes' walk form the town centre. Our room under the roof was bright, spacious and very comfortable, with an extra-large bathroom and skylights opening on both sides (the room facing south towards the Beara Peninsula). Despite a storm rocking the area on one night, we slept extremely well. Breakfast was an absolute pleasure on both mornings and the number of options was uncannily large for a B&B (and they all looked and tasted really good). The hosts made us feel welcome and even if a baby was demanding attention in the kitchen, they were not shy in offering advice on the lesser-known places in the region.

We recently had the pleasure of staying in Rockcrest House for 4 nights and it was truly a fabulous stay. Marian and David were the perfect hosts from start to finish! We had 3 rooms booked and each one was immaculately clean with the most comfortable beds. The rooms were so spacious and it made it easy to relax.
Breakfast was fantastic and you could get anything you asked for, the home made brown bread and scones were superb and the 2 kids were delighted with their pancakes, fruit, chocolate and syrup!
The location is brilliant, a short walk down to the village where Marian recommended some brilliant places to eat.
We would highly recommend Rockcrest as a base for sightseeing around beautiful Kenmare and we will definitely be back in the near future!

Our family (all adults) reserved 4 very comfortable rooms July 2-4 2022. The warmth of the owners is reflected in all the care they have for their guests and their property. Each day well rounded and delicious choices of fruit, pastries and ,of course ,the traditional full Irish breakfast started our day with the smiles of Mrs Dwyer and her daughter. All the rooms are spacious , clean and comfortable. You will be glad you stayed here to tour sw Ireland. A bonus is Rockcrest's very short and easy walk to the restaurants , pub, shops and services of Kenmare. As this was our second week of touring Europe we took the convenient opportunity to do some laundry at a laundromat in town(open 7 days a week).

Rockcrest House offers a 5 star stay in Kenmare . David & Marian are perfect hosts, the rooms surpass many 5 star hotels & the breakfast is the best we’ve experienced in our travels for some time …. we slept like babies.. It’s set in an ideal location less than 5mins from the town centre & we are looking forward to our next trip already. Great to be able to experience a great stay post Covid. Well done David & Marian.

We arrived after a beautiful but very wet day completing the Beara Way. We were so warmly greeted and Marian helped us hang up our wet rain gear and put our boots in a warm place to dry. We really felt welcomed into David and Marian's beautiful home! Our room was spacious, clean, and so comfortable. And breakfast was amazing! The location on a quiet street just a few minutes' walk into the Kenmare town square made it very convenient. There are historical sites including an incredible stone circle just a quick walk from the Rockcrest. We stayed an extra couple days to do day hikes in both directions on The Kerry Way. Marian sent us off with freshly made scones and David drove us to the bus stop on the day we departed. Many thanks to them for their hospitality!

I have been to Kenmare many times in the past but I have to say this B&B is an absolute gem amongst the plethora of hotels and rooms available in the town. The views from the room are breathtaking, the breakfast is hearty and delicious& the friendly welcome on arrival would warm your heart. Its proximity to the town is second to none. I have already booked a return visit with my husband. Do not look any further than Rockcrest House- believe me you won't be disappointed.

You can do both from there. We did the Ring if Kerry then nearly did Dingle too but ran out of time.
Five minute walk in over a footbridge to the centre of Kenmare from Rockcrest House.
To walk to the centre of the town of Kenmare takes 5 minutes over a footbridge.
Families are always welcome at Rockcrest House and your 12 year old may like to play with our Berneese Mountain dog (still a puppy - even though she is big) - she is very playfull.
Take care.
David.
