We stayed for 3 nights at the Harbour View whilst travelling around South West Ireland. Maureen is the most fantastic host and her B&B is located right on the Sea front. Our room was spotless and very comfortable and had stunning views over the the bay. We would highly recommend the Harbour View if you like somewhere quiet and beautiful and within a mile from a very good pub/restaurant, The Sailors Bar, who looked after us so well. Thank you to Maureen for such a wonderful time.
My wife and I had a two night stopover while touring this part of Ireland. Maureen is a lovely host, a very helpful and friendly lady, the house and rooms were all Very clean and tidy, and the continental breakfast was nice and light. There is also excellent food just down the road at the Sailors Bar (see separate review). It is a really amazing view to wake up to, and only a few minutes drive into Kenmare which is a lovely little town. Maureen is the type of lady who would bend over backwards in the very unlikely event you did have an issue, you would just need to ask. We will definitely go out of our way to use this b&b, guesthouse again when we return to this spectacular part of Ireland. I would also suggest to contact Maureen direct if possible, instead of using mainstream booking sites as they don't offer the same personal touch. …
Touring southern Ireland staying at local bed and breakfast establishments. Harbour View, Kenmore did not disappoint. Our room had an amazing view over the water. Very clean, lots of hot water and fab continental breakfast. Thank you Maureen, we really enjoyed our stay with you. Highly recommend, check out their direct website and book direct to avoid high booking charges.
Included as our overnight stop while touring the Ring of Kerry the Harbour View was located just a few miles out from the centre of Kenmare itself. The premises are a modern property that has undergone refurbishment and was very well presented from the outside and exceptionally bright and clean inside. Through no fault of the proprietor, who had allocated two downstairs rooms for our stay, we opted for two rooms upstairs where un fortunately the rather steeply pitched roof profiles presented as a little bit of a challenge for anyone near to or above 6' in height. That said, it is impossible to fault the rooms in any way. Everything from multiple plug sockets to tea and coffee facilities, from hair drier to quality carpets, from excellent TV service to shower facilities, from effective shower facilities (albeit rather small) to a perfect nights sleep on a quality mattress. Everything one could require had been thought of and provided for. A full range of breakfast juice and cereal plus an excellent full Irish breakfast with as much bread and toast as one wanted ensured we were given a perfect start to day two of our tour. The view of Kenmare Bay from our rooms is exactly as portrayed on Trip Advisor. I would definitely recommend this location and contacting them direct.…
A very pleasing B&B experience. Very high standard accommodation. Exceptionally clean everywhere. A wonderful selection of breakfast items, especially the tasty variety of cooked breakfasts. Would highly recommend this B&B. Unlikely you will find anything that will disappoint.
Enjoyed my stay here. It is a lovely bed and breakfast, very clean and food was good. Fabulous view but it's that bit pricey for being so far out of town. Nothing extra about it for the price. Think back rooms should be a bit cheaper than the front ones with the viiew. I would stay again but not at present prices.
We have been several times in this area and this is the second time we stayed in Kenmare. The B&B is definitely nice and the host is a lovely person who helps you out and does not mind spending some time with you speaking about anything you wish. We have followed her advice and went to have dinner to the place close by (please follow her advice!). We had 2 bedrooms ensuite at the ground floor. You get everything you need, probably I would have expected something more for a B&B of their level (no much soap and shampoo for shower plus pressure was weak). Do not get me wrong, all good, just something was missing for getting the maximum rate. Also, make sure you get everything sorted at the check-in as there is nobody in the night if you need. Not that you will need anything, but it is better to know in advance. Would I come back here? Yes, I will. Just, I would love price to be cheaper than booking.com when booking direct.…
Lovely quiet and peaceful place! Owners very helpful! Great place to rest. Rooms clean and very well equipped. Close to the charming town and the marina. This is perfect place to mountain walks with spectacular views. Best wishes :*
This B&B meets all the requirements and is run by a very nice woman who is very informative and responsive. The view of the harbour is terrific and the sunroom/breakfast room is a lovely place to be in the morning. Breakfasts are good with all the usual choices, but I missed not having scones or baked goods offered..only toast or bread (which my husband said was good). On the downside, our room (end of hall facing harbour) was quite small...quite a bit smaller than others...the wifi was spotty and didn't work in our room for most of the two days we were there. Had to go to the common room to use it. The window in our room did not operate properly so we couldn't leave it open...and I like fresh air. We did have a great view of the water but the parking lot is directly in front of the room so we had to keep the shades down most of the time for privacy sake. Cars so close you could almost reach out and touch them. Room lighting needs improvement. The (one) lamp by the bed is unpleasantly bright and overhead lighting means having to get up to turn it off..and not great for reading yourself to sleep.. The bed was not comfortable...way too firm for me and the same can be said for the pillows. And we couldn't get the radiator to warm up...even turned up to 5. There is no place to put suitcases other than the floor;..terrible for my back. The room description said "king size" bed but it turns out that this means "queen size" by American standards. First time I've run into that. All the rooms are the same price which to be honest was a lot. This was the most expensive B&B we stayed at but without the special touches those prices usually warrant. Also, the B&B is not in town. It's about a ten-minute drive down the next peninsula over...not that far, but not what we expected. Good to know.…
We stayed here a few weeks ago. The room was clean and tidy. Pillows a bit flat. Nice en suite. The view over breakfast was stunning. Breakfast was nice except one of my poached eggs was quite hard. The price for the room was a bit on the steep side. Nice place but not great value for money.
