Visiting family not far from Kenmare we opted to stay at the Lansdowne (brother who lives locally is in a 1bed traditional Irish cottage so no room)
Hotel was spotless and all staff welcoming. We ate in the hotel restaurant on two nights of our five night stay (would also recommend the Chinese/Thai restaurant opposite as we took brother there one night)
Our room overlooked the street but was not noisy. Shower very good and room was again spotless.
We were very surprised that the Hotels LK cafe breakfast was actually a little cheaper than other town cafes!
So we had breakfast there for all but one day
Only negative would be the toast as was just simple sliced loaf which is a shame given the quality of bread available locally.
As we have family in area now it’s likely we’ll be back every couple of years and will have no hesitation in staying at the Lansdowne whenever we visit

We stayed here on the 14th May 2022 for a short trip and after stepping out of the sun to check in were thrilled with the fresh airy feel of the hotel lobby and bedroom corridor.
We were delighted that the hotel facilitated an early check in which allowed us to prepare for our friends wedding in the nearby Dromquinna Manor.

Our bedroom was very comfortable and was very well laid out. The sash windows were a nice surprise also. In most hotels they are a feature but not functioning but here we were able to open them and had a light breeze rolling in while we got ready for our day out.

The hotel was finished out very well and in a style we had come across abroad but not in Ireland. Even though we were in the heart of Kenmare we could have been nestled down a quiet cul de sac.

The staff and accommodation were fabulous. So much so that we're planning a trip back to Kenmare with our children later this summer.

Thank you for the great welcome.

We stopped here for lunch travelling from Killarney to Sneem. It was a really tasty lunch that we thoroughly enjoyed especially after a few days in Killarney where good food is sorely lacking.

Staff were incredibly friendly and personable. We were taken to another room as we had a small child and they facilitated us by letting us dine in an area with more space without having to worry about disturbing other diners with noise and buggies.

We would definitely visit again and maybe even stay.

We popped into the Kenmare Park and toured the grounds. A class act from the proprietors of both hotels to allow people enjoy the beautiful setting of their sister hotel.

My son and I stayed here for several days as part of a cycling trip in Ireland. The staff at the hotel were really exceptional in their friendliness and willingness to help. Our luggage arrived late the first day and the young lady at the front desk carried it all up to our room herself. They provided a place for us to store our bikes, and provided a place to change out of cycling clothes the last day after we had checked out in the morning. The hotel is located at the end of one of the main streets so it is in a perfect location within walking distance to everything. Our room was comfortable and the hotel is very clean and well kept. A green of a place!

When we arrived at The Lansdowne Hotel Kenmare we were warmly welcomed by
Mag and her team. The room was spotlessly clean and refreshing - the bed was amazing and very comfortable and spacious, we had the best nights sleep in a long time !!

The bathroom was superb with fabulous towels by Francis, sheer luxury..

We really appreciated the coffee machine and tea making facilities in the room, a great touch, and one which we loved and appreciated.

The dinner in the restaurant was amazing and we would like to thank Brian and his staff for their friendliness and food, which was top class.

The breakfast in The Lansdowne each morning was top quality, plenty of choice, and our favourite to start with every morning was the porridge with mixed berries and honey, it tasted amazing.

We had booked into the Spa in The Park for the Monday afternoon and this was another treat to behold ! (My facial was just so relaxing and the therapist was a gem, such a nice girl).

We can’t wait for our next visit to the Lansdowne, Kenmare, we are already planning our next holiday there. A huge bonus was the car park right next door, the location of the Lansdowne is perfect.

The staff have to be some of the friendliest most welcoming staff anywhere! A great start to our stay. The hotel is perfectly located in the centre of Kenmare with an easily accessible car park . The bed was large and extremely comfortable but it was almost too big for the room which was small and extremely bland in décor. The shower room had a very large loo roll holder on the wall ( why??) but no where to put a toilet or cosmetic bag other than the top of the loo! That said the shower itself was very good. The piano bar was deserted whilst we were there so it lacked any atmosphere and we were not tempted to linger. Breakfast is available in the adjacent coffee bar and was good. Overall it was an OK stay - sleep quality is always an important factor for me and the great staff made up for any shortcomings elsewhere

Stayed here a few years ago and it was awful. Glad to say some major changes here. The luxury feel you get as you walk through the door is fabulous. This follows through to the restaurant and the piano bar. Quality abounds. Great service also.
Alas it’s a pity this attention to detail did not follow through to the bedroom. Unusually we were put in the same room as we last stayed so are very well placed to comment on the changes. Beautiful soft furnishings and a very comfortable bed. Poor points , no proper ventilation or air con so the room felt very stuffy. Could not open the window as it opened on to a public footpath and the curtains are too light so the room is very bright early in the morning.Nice sofa but could not watch tv from it as the tv is on the wall behind it. Small wardrobe, which was ok , but only space to store your case upright. No proper case stand so had to use the couch. Breakfast is available to your room but you would have to eat on the bed as only 1 very small round table. Not good. Lastly the bathroom. Honestly they should have removed the bath it’s so small. I am over 6’ and not a small build so found this of no use . In fact it negatively impacts the bathroom overall as the shower is one of the poorest I have ever seen in any hotel. This mixer could be bought in any hardware store for about €40. For the price of the room , we paid €215 , just not good enough. Definitely not value for money. I will finish on a plus by saying the hotel is spotlessly clean through.
Thank you K.

We stayed here for 4 nights recently, and were allocated room 304. It's one of a small number of rooms that faces directly onto the street below, as opposed to those separated by corridor. Due to the recent heat event, and the absence of air con, we had no option but to leave the window open. This resulted in considerable street noise from approx 05.30am, which didn't help in terms of sleep quality.
That said, the room was super clean, bed very comfy, well equipped but a little lacking in storage space.
The bathroom was, as above super clean etc. However it is possible, due to the angle of the building, that while showering, someone in another room, might just have a view of the shower & more!!!!
We had dinner in the hotel on our first night, and it was excellent.
Breakfast likewise had some excellent choices, though on one morning I overheard a waitress asking another guest if they would like a top up of tea. When I asked for same regarding coffee, I was brought a fresh cup and then charged €3.40 which I thought was a bit much.
Would we stay again? Probably, but in a different room.

...because I don't want others to know how amazing our experience at The Lansdowne Kenmare was as we would like to keep it to ourselves! That would be extremely selfish though and I wish nothing but success to the staff and management that have created and maintain such a perfect hotel destination. My wife and I loved everything about our experience... from checking in, to opening the door to reveal our beautiful suite, to the food and drinks we ordered throughout our stay in both onsite restaurants, to the thoughtful interior design of the newly remodeled areas/rooms, the amazing bathroom soaps/lotions/shampoo (best scent in the world), the location... I could write on an on. The best part of our stay was the interaction with staff. They are the kindest, most helpful, cheerful people I have ever encountered on a trip. We honestly shed a tear as we drove away as we didn't want to return to the "real world". This type of service absolutely deserves to be praised and we can't thank everyone at The Landsdowne enough for making our trip one of the highlights of our lives. Thank you! Kindest regards from Montana
