From the warm welcome I received to when I left the next morning I was sad that I was here for just one night, but resolved to return as soon as I can. The attention to detail was so evident, making the comfort for guests such high quality. My beautiful room was very quiet, clean , had a very comfortable bed and had a lovely view.Hannah is a wonderful hostess . My breakfast was delicious . Hannah's breads are irresistible and I probably ate too much... I will definitely be returning to enjoy Muxnaw Lodge again. Thank you XXX
A beautiful historical old hunting lodge built in 1801.amazing antique furniture throughout the house.Hannah the owner is an extremely pleasent lady and we had a lovely conversation with her about the history of the house.Delicious breakfast with variety of homemade breads.Breathtaking views of kenmare bay and only a short walk from town.
What an incredible find this property was. Built in 1801 as a hunting lodge for a wealthy Dublin family, the B&B is now beautifully cared for by Hannah who spoiled us with tea and cake on arrival, and a delicious breakfast the next morning. If ever in Ireland again will definitely stay here
My husband and I just returned to the US from a 3 night stay at Muxnaw Lodge. Our room was very clean and comfortable, contained beautiful antiques, and had a scenic view of the bay. Hannah, our hostess, was so gracious and welcoming. We instantly felt at ease there. She hosts a wonderful breakfast in the elegant dining room; her homemade breads are a treat. Our stay at Muxnaw Lodge was the highlight of our 10 day driving trip throughout Ireland. We hope to return soon!
Just about everything here was excellent: the view, the distance to Kenmare, the building, the rooms, breakfast (best Full Irish I‘ve had). On tops Hannah Boland is a lovely hostess and so much fun to talk to. She also has loads of good advice for sightseeing. We didn’t want to leave.
A nice walk into Kenmare which is a lovely town with a great 'Buzz' lots of lovely restaurants and pubs available. some very nice shopping and the opportunity to visit two lovely hotels The Park and Sheen Falls.
The first things that you will notice about this place are the beautiful surroundings - a lovely view of the River & lots of greenery/ flowers all over the property. The host Hannah is extremely warm & has some fascinating stories to share from her travels & life in general - and of course, tips on places to visit & avoid the traffic. The breakfast menu is awesome - you rarely see so much variety at a b&b. The rooms are very spacious & comfortable - there are nice & comfortable sofas too for relaxing. The bathroom is quite large; has a tub too in case you wish to indulge yourself after a long day outdoors. This place is very well located - it’s at the junction of the Ring of Kerry, Ring of Beara & the Wild Atlantic way - and only a 10-minute walk to the town center. Overall a perfect place to relax and unwind.…
We stayed for three nights while we toured the area. It is a lovely old inn filled with antiques. Our hostess, Hannah, was very accommodating and friendly, and the breakfasts were excellent. Our room in the front looked out over the inlet and we watched the local boys and girls come each morning to practice their crewing. The inn is a ways from central Kenmare on a typically small road - I would be hesitant to walk it into town. One night we called for pizza delivery and enjoyed our dinner in the lovely parlor.
While Muxnaw is many years old it is well kept. You get the feeling of years long in the past when things were much different. Sitting atop a hill it overlooks the river and it’s beautiful bridge. Hanna, our host, made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived, until we left. Not to mention breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. If one is lucky they’ll get to meet grandchildren Daisy and Luca. Daisy, 13, charmed us with the history of the house. Luca, 11, delighted us by playing his guitar with a great deal of skill. Muxnaw Lodge is definitely a place I’d happily return to.
My husband and I stayed for one night before our drive on The Ring of Kerry. Our room was cozy and very quiet. Hot breakfast was cooked to order and tasty. But let me tell you - Hannah makes THE BEST homemade breads! She even gave us the extra which we enjoyed on our roadtrip. Hannah and her family were so good to us. Highly recommend!
