We spent four nights (17-20 May) in this family owned and operated luxury B&B. We were given maps and recommended daily travel itineraries and sights. Also, greeted daily by our Hostess with a choice of fine Irish breakfast dishes (excellent). The rooms were large and comfortable overlooking either Lake Kenmare or the beautiful garden. Just a short scenic walk (500... More

My husband and I enjoyed 3 lovely nights at this beautiful B&B. Janie and her brother John took great care of us. Rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. Large windows in upstairs rooms look over backyard and tidal waters. Janie makes a great hot breakfast, or you can enjoy a fresh continental breakfast loaded with cereals yogurt fresh fruit and... We stayed 2 nights at the Sallyport House and highly recommend it. The house is impeccably clean and the rooms are nice sizes with your own bathroom. John and Janie Arthur were the perfect hosts. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and Janie was very attentive to our needs. She had a pot of coffee ready for us before... More

We loved our one night stay at the Sallyport House, and wished we could have stayed longer. The house is set off the road with a gorgeous view of the bay and within a short walk to town. We were welcomed by the owner, Janie, and since it was near the dinner hour, she immediately made a reservation for us... More

This is a lovely B&B on the edge of Kenmare. It is run by a brother and sister who are very affable. The bedroom was a good size with a good bathroom. The wifi is excellent when it works but the service can be intermittent. However we experienced a similar problem in a restaurant in the town. They serve a... More

What a beautiful place to spend a relaxing few days. The house is spectacular with panoramic views of Kenmare Bay and the surrounding countryside. We had the room with the seated area overlooking the garden with an outstanding view of the back of the impressive Kenmare Park Hotel and its grounds. This is the Hotel you cut through if you... Beautiful views from our room, the best sleep, great variety and good quality breakfast, less than 5 min walk to the town and extremely friendly hosts who are happy to give advice on where are the places to go!! A trip to see the wild Atlantic way was a great tip! A repeat visit is for definite! 😀

We stayed at Sallyport for two nights recently and recommend it highly. The home is beautiful and very comfortable. We had our choice of a king four posted bed or a two room suite with a queen bed. We chose the latter and were very pleased with the extra space. The sitting room had a large window that overlooked the... More

I've been lucky to travel to Kenmare several times over the last 15 years. Have stayed at B&Bs as well as local hotel and a guesthouse. I am shocked at how lovely Sallyport is. The history of this home alone makes it worth a visit. John Arthur's grandfather built the home I believe in the 1920's. It is really amazing.... More

We very recently spent two nights at this beautiful B&B. The Arthur's were the most gracious hosts and their home is immaculate. The property is surrounded with flower gardens, water views, and pastures. With a quick walk into Kenmare and immediate access to the Ring of Beara makes the Sallyport House a perfect location.

Sallyport House stands on the shores of the Kenmare River, in the far south of County Kerry, is known to those in the locality. It is a delightful Edwardian house in a really spectacular location, right on the edge of the harbor, surrounded by parkland and trees, and by Reenagross Woodland Park, yet still just minutes away from the center of busy Kenmare town, the most south-easterly point on the renowned Ring of Kerry. ... more   less
