Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I originally were booked at O'Donnabhain's and they ended up canceling on us at the last minute. We were so lucky to get a reservation at Bridge Street Townhouse. It was perfectly located. Our room was so comfortable and clean. We were treated to the best breakfast we have ever had. Eggs Benedict with salmon!!! This is one of the nicest accommodations we have stayed at for our two weekIreland trip. I would highly recommend staying here. We hope we can come back❤️

My daughter & I visited this B&B & had an amazing stay with Lucy. Its exceptionally clean, with beautiful rooms. Everywhere was sparkling clean. We could have had anything for breakfast & it was so fresh & homecooked. Love our stay & have already recommended it to several friends & family. Definitely 5 stars plus. Michèle

We stayed here for two wonderful nights. We were sorry to leave. Lucy’s place is extra special for many reasons. 1. It’s right in the centre of Kenmare , so all the shops , pubs and restaurants are a one minute stroll away. 2. It has free parking outside the door and trust me, finding a parking space in Kenmare is virtually impossible! 3. The rooms are all completely different , and each has its own personality. All very tastefully decorated in muted , restful colours. 4. The beds are SUPER comfortable. 5. The bathrooms are spotless with good high pressured showers. 6. The breakfast is 100 times nicer than any other place we have stayed in. Great variety of options. Large bottle of chilled orange juice on each table , fresh fruit salad , scones , pancakes , French toast , scrambled eggs with smoked salmon , full Irish breakfast for the very hungry. Lucy , the owner , cooks everything from scratch whilst at the same time , popping in and out to greet guests and chat to them with her effervescent and bubbly personality. She manages to make the worst morning grouches smile and get involved in conversation. How she does this I honestly do not know. It’s an extremely rare gift to be blessed with such a temperament but Lucy has personality to burn and in a job like this it’s such an added bonus. I think it’s why people feel that they arrive as strangers and leave as friends 7. If you’re reading this and suspect I may be exaggerating the charm and specialness of Bridge Street Townhouse , then all I can say is book in there and make your own evaluation. I’m certain you won’t be disappointed. 8. Thank you Lucy and staff for such a lovely stay and for all the great tips you gave us about where to go to eat etc 9. Most of all thank you for making us laugh which we never stopped doing when we were chatting with you. 10 A very special thank you from my husband who really appreciated the fact that you made delicious porridge for him each morning despite the fact that it wasn’t on the menu !

The location of this B&B couldn't be better - it's absolutely central, but just enough off the main streets that the rooms are quiet. Lucy greeted us warmly and provided a ton of useful information, including pointing us to the best local restaurants and bars, and most interesting local attractions. We followed her advice and loved every minute of our visit to Kenmare. We were in Room 9 which is on the top floor (it's a walk-up) - it's a very large room with slanted ceilings and large skylights. The bathroom is equally huge, and everything was spotlessly clean. There were swallows nesting just outside our window, so we listened to the babies peeping in the mornings and evenings. The breakfast was a step above most during our trip, and the French toast was particularly delicious and unique. Since the B&B is upstairs (located above a shop), this wouldn't work well if you have trouble with stairs or very heavy luggage, but it was fantastic for us.

This is an exceptional property for many reasons; 1. Location is in centre of town and minutes from bars, restaurants, shops, walks, park etc. park your car and forget about it! 2. Rooms are all different, and all unique with their own special features. Beds are extremely comfortable with fabulous Kingcoil mattresses and good quality linen. 3. Proprietor , Grainne O’Sullivan, is a very special hostess, positive, fun and genuinely invested in ensuring your stay in Kenmare is memorable, be sure to ask her for recommendations. 4. Breakfast would blow you away! Amazing value as part of B&B rate, most likely best in Kenmare. My recommendation is don’t miss it and if you’re planning a wedding or special occasion in Kenmare, book the place out for the weekend.

I booked a stay at bridge street townhouse for a wedding in a nearby hotel. The property subsequently informed that they had overbooked the property online and could not accommodate me. I accept that human error can arise, but the property essentially left me scrambling for accommodation less than 2 weeks before the event on a very busy weekend in Kenmare. Communication and general professionalism was not good enough.

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending a wedding locally and have to say we were blown away by the reception from Lucy the owner, an absolute character who had us in stitches. Service was touch notch, the room was absolutely spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was beautiful, high quality fresh ingredients cooked to order and Lucy’s homemade scones are to die for. We have no hesitation recommending Bridge Street Townhouse and if we ever find ourselves in Kenmare again, we will be staying here!

We absolutely loved our stay at Bridge Street Townhouse in Kenmare! Such a lovely place in the best location! Lucy was an absolute lovely hostess who made sure our stay was memorable! She was helpful in directing us to the best dinner place in town. She also prospered the absolute best breakfast we had in all the places we stayed in Ireland! I would highly recommend staying here and look forward to returning again! Thank you, Lucy, for making Kenmare such a wonderful part of our trip!
