2023 Travellers' Choice Best of the Best
Dating back to 1897, heritage and luxury are combined at the Park Hotel Kenmare to create a gracious home, that is yours to enjoy. A vibrant hotel with wonderful facilities like our Deluxe Destination Spa SÁMAS, Bamford Treatments, 25mt Lap Pool, Cinema and Daily Lifestyle Classes, but a place where we are not ashamed to be old fashioned. This Victorian landmark, dating from 1897, with its splendid views over the glistening waters of Kenmare Bay, the ever changing light of the Cork and Kerry Mountains, the adjoining 18 hole golf course, garden walks and the Heritage Town of Kenmare is home to one of Ireland’s finest hotels. Tradition, in every sense, is important to us, as is the fun of today, the devilment of a younger guest, the delight of a couple holding hands and the delivery of true service. It is a rare place where the decadence of the past is married with the modernism of today.

We enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing, pampered weekend. Good food, attentive and inventive staff, snd the little surprises were welcome! The infinity pool was the highlight of the Spa. And all in the beautiful surroundings and gardens of the Park Hotel. Breathtaking views of Kenmare Bay and the mountains of Kerry from our room, offering solitude and relaxation. While out front, its just a minute's walk to the quirky village of Kenmare and it's coffee, art and clothes shops, restaurants and pubs.

Hotel's Favourite
We spent 2 nights at the lovely property with the group Backroads. The room was perfectly clean and we had a fantastic view from our window of the countryside. I had a massage. Very nice spa which had an awesome hot rub outdoors. It was interesting that one had to have had a treatment appointment to use the facilities, but that was ok since it was enjoyable not having a crowded hot tub The food in the hotel was excellent. I found the hotel to be “old world” with all modern conveniences. We had gone hiking on one of the days and my hiking shoes became drenched. They took my shoes to boiler room so they would dry. Very nice touch. If in Kenmare, stay at this property. You can walk everywhere in town.

Extraordinary experience here last night. Just wanted to drop in for a drink but we weren't even halfway across the car park when we were intercepted by a member of staff asking were we booked in? Were we staying there? When we replied in the negative, we were told that the hotel was "very busy" and "full". In other words, we weren't allowed in for a drink. We have never felt more unwelcome and will not be darkening the door again.

Dear Happy Civil Partners I'm truly sorry to read your feedback with regards to your recent visit to Park Hotel Kenmare. I can assure you that we very much welcome visitors to the Park at all times throughout the year. We kindly request visitors to book in advance should they wish to visit the Cocktail Bar or Dining room. Particularly during this time of year as the hotel operates on full occupancy. We would have a limited number of tables between our Cocktail Bar and our Drawing Room. These would usually fill in the evening time with our residents. We manage this carefully and are at certain times unable to accept additional bookings for our overall guest comfort. I'm sorry that we hadn't the opportunity of welcoming you in on this visit and I would really appreciate the opportunity of reaching out to you to see if we could possibly organise something in the future. My direct contact is tjmulcahy@parkkenmare.com. I look forward to hopefully hearing from you. Warm Regards TJ

Stayed here with our cycling group during a tour of West Cork and County Kerry. The hotel is wonderful, elegant, stately. The grounds were beautiful with multiple walking paths down to the bay/waterline. My wife enjoyed a deep tissue massage at the spa while i played golf at the Kenmare muni next door. Our room was a suite providing alot of space and comfort. The highlight though was the service - Mateus handled many little requests with a smile, Jason and Dylan in the bar were friendly for a chat, and John Moriarity patiently and enthusiastically gave a great talk at our whisky tasting. I couldnt have scripted a more perfect stay in rural Ireland.

This really is a beautiful place. Wonderful staff and ambiance. It feels like you are at an Edwardian country house party One of the best things - you never sign for anything. Staff ask for your room number , nothing else. That’s just one of the touches that makes this place different

We had a wonderful time - location stunning, accommodation luxurious, food delicious and even the weather was gorgeous! However the best thing about the Park Hotel Kenmare is the staff ! Everyone from Philip who greeted us as we arrived, to Ali ( reception) , John ( bar), Richard ( bar), Maria (and the other dining room staff), Veronica ( yoga and wellness programme) and visiting students Jason and Kaylan from the Carribean were friendly, courteous and effortlessly competent. The fabulous Maitre'd ( whose name unfortunately I don't remember ( but you know who you are) ! made our trip so memorable and fun! We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back.

What can I say? This place is simply outstanding and I can’t recommend it highly enough if you’re visiting Kenmare. If you like luxury hotels, exceptional spa facilities, lovely rooms, fine dining, and an unmatched selection of drinks, this is the only place to choose if visiting this lovely town. I visited 2 years ago and was worried it wouldnt be as as good as I remembered when Invisited agin this year, but it was actually better. The manager, TJ, remembered us and upgraded our room on arrival. The hotel facilities were just as lovely as before. In my last review, I focussed on how stying in the hotel is so laidback and congenial, that it’s like staying at a friend’s house. No paperwork, no fuss, no signing bills. Just an easy and homely feel to luxury. It was like this again. I mean … how many hotels clean your car windscreen for you and then leave a note on the wiper saying they did it so you could enjoy the local countryside! The hospitality borders on the ridiculous it’s so good. However, I think it’s worth giving a shout out this time to the spa and food. The quality of the restaurant food was outstanding - classy, fine dining with beautiful views of Kenmare Bay. The spa is by far one of the biggest reasons to go to Park Hotel Kenmare. It’s the best I’ve experienced. Lots of hotels have thermal suites, but they don’t have an outdoor one bordering on lush woods in the near-distance and the stunning Kenmare Bay on the wider horizon. We visited the suite after a 6-hour car journey and were instantly chilled out and relaxed. It was excellent. The view, the thermal experience … it all works. The other facilities are also excellent. We had a lovely massages and the overall spa service was brilliant. A must for anyone visiting Kerry and Kenmare!

Dear Kev D Thank you for returning to us again and for giving up your time to write such a thoughtful review of your overall experience at Park Hotel Kenmare. Like the fine wines in our Cellar, we are improving with age! We have intentionally remove all the usual guest obstacles so that our guests can truly enjoy and unwind in "a home from home" overall experience. Giving the wonderful location of the hotel nestled in between two of Irelands finest Peninsulas, it would be a real shame if you missed any of this natural beauty due to a smudged window screen :) I'm delighted that you had the opportunity to visit our Samás Spa and spend a little time on the wild side in our outdoor Infinity pool. I'm looking forward to assisting with anything in the future so please contact me on tjmulcahy@parkkenmare.com. Warm regards TJ

My husband and I recently stayed at the Park in Kenmare and had a wonderful time. We had a beautiful view of the water from our room which was well appointed.Breakfast was excellent with a wonderful choice. Dinner was also excellent with a great menu made extra special by the outstanding service by Mark Golden & Maria in particular. We enjoyed drinks in the bar and also want to mention John Moriarty for his service. It is a wonderful place to stay, the staff know all of the guests, there seems to be a deliberate effort to ensure that this is the case and it really adds to the experience as guests feel valued. We were returning guests and it made a great impression that this was acknowledged by the manager. Your custom is valued here. We will certainly return.

I was treated to a day spa in The Park Hotel. This hotel is 5 star in its truest form, from décor to service and most of all professionalism and standards which unfortunately seem to be missing in other 5 star properties around Ireland in 2023. If you are looking for the epitome in class, calm, care and attention to detail, The Park Hotel will hit the mark every time. Well done to all and a special thank you to Alicia in the spa who took such great care on my visit.
