Sheila and Sam run an efficient and friendly operation. Sheila waited up late for our arrival and helped us find a late-night bite. Our room was enormous and quite clean, although the odd shower/bathroom combo took a minute to get used to in the morning. The breakfast room is really picturesque, with a view out into the country. The fresh...

My husband and I and another couple spent three nights at Forgefield House. Sheila and Sam were wonderful hosts! They were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our rooms were large with good-sized bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable, and we even liked the pillows! (This was the only B and B that had softer pillows.) The food was delicious, and we...

We stayed (3 of us) at Sheila and Sam's place for four nights in May 2014. We had two upstairs rooms and shared a bathroom which was perfect for us. Great location and the breakfasts were fantastic. Also, they both provided some great tourist information, even making phone calls for us to help out with bookings. Thanks to Sheila and...

Sam and Sheila go out of their way to ensure you are completely satisfied. Their dog, Casper, sold me on this booking. Casper is a quiet and laid back friend that greets every guest with kindness. The accommodations are excellent, the bathroom even came with a heated towel rate...ahhh nice touch. Breakfast was fantastic with many choices. Sam and Sheila's...

My husband and I were fortunate to spend an evening at the Forgefield House in September. Sam and Sheila are superb hosts, they honestly could not be nicer! We arrived late in the afternoon on a Saturday after a busy first day in Ireland and were greeted by Sam, Sheila and their delightful dog. We were given a spacious, bright...

We were given the downstairs wheelchair friendly room and wow what a beauty. A warm friendly atmosphere in a lovely location with lovely hosts at the helm. PROS; Oversized, spacious room. Luxury & comfortable king sized bed Excellent value for money CONS; No shower screen so bathroom can get a bit of water spray.

We stayed for two nights while visiting the ROK. We chose it based on TA reviews for B&B’s near Kenmare. It is close to town, but not walking distance. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and responded quickly to my booking and confirmation emails. The entire B&B was comfortable and spotless and nicely decorated. Wi-fi worked well. We had a...

It's readily apparent why this is the number 1 B&B in Kenmare. Sam and Sheila are absolutely wonderful hosts who when we weren't sure if we wanted to drive the Ring of Kerry recommended the Beara Peninsula instead which was absolutely perfect. The Irish breakfast was the most delicious of our trip and the room was spacious and light. They...

Stayed one night here and found the room spacious and clean. The second floor room had a lovely view out a large half dome window. Hosts are gracious and friendly. Kenmare is a nice town to explore and Forgefield House is a good place to stay while doing it!

The Forgefield House is very clean, and Sheila and Sam are wonderful hosts. We arrived on our first day in Ireland to the Forgefield House, and Sheila prepared my wife and I tea. Both her and her husband are good conversationalists, and after a few minutes you can speak with them as if you have been friends together for years....

“The rooms upstairs share a bathroom, but it's huge, so if you're a family and you're okay with that, I'd book the rooms upstairs. The downstairs room is very spacious, but the sunrise greets you really early and really bright. The beds are beyond comfortable in each room, though. You can't go wrong in whichever room you choose.”

“If using Kenmare as a base for the Ring of Kerry - I suggest getting an early start and driving the ring Counter-Clockwise. Tour buses start going around Clockwise and you won't get stuck driving behind a bus as you make your way around.”
