Forgefield House is a short drive to the town centre but well worth the stay. It's quite, rooms are large and spotless and the hosts are gracious and very hospitable. They also serve a great breakfast. Only negative was that our room was very hot even with all the windows open.

We stayed here a couple of nights ago and what a lovely place it was. We were greeted by Sam and shown to our room on the ground floor...it was enormous and beautiful. We asked about where to dine in town and he quickly told us his favorites and kindly called and made a booking for us at Mulcahy's...best food... More

Room was very bright, spacious and well maintained. Sheila and Sam went over and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Great location for a peaceful stay. Breakfast was outstanding.

A brilliant bed and breakfast run by a lovely couple. We were made to feel at home straight away. Sheila and Sam both remembered our names - little things like that make all the difference. As for breakfast... what a spread! Couldn't have asked for more. If you're visiting, take a couple of minutes to pop down the road to... More

We were a large, varied group of 6 -- my wife, our 2 kids, my mother, and my brother (who uses a wheelchair). We felt very well taken care of at Forgefield House. Sheila and Sam were terrific hosts -- very helpful and with a wealth of information about the area. The downstairs room is very wheelchair friendly and was... More

Wonderful stay with Sheila and Sam! ☺. Beautifully appointed and spacious rooms and marvellous breakfasts. Our hosts made us more than welcome so much so that we stayed for an extra night in addition to the ones we had booked. The views from the dining room are sooo lovely too!

Charming, bright room and wonderful, very friendly atmosphere. A place one is more than happy to return to after a long day of travelling. Highly recommended! And if we ever do return to have a look at Mizen Head we will make sure to book here again!

“The rooms upstairs share a bathroom, but it's huge, so if you're a family and you're okay with that, I'd book the rooms upstairs. The downstairs room is very spacious, but the sunrise greets you really early and really bright. The beds are beyond comfortable in each room, though. You can't go wrong in whichever room you choose.”

“If using Kenmare as a base for the Ring of Kerry - I suggest getting an early start and driving the ring Counter-Clockwise. Tour buses start going around Clockwise and you won't get stuck driving behind a bus as you make your way around.”
